I will take Dalton showing emotion over "Oh no." from Spectre any day. The last time I saw that much lack of life, was in a little known film called Night Of The Living Dead. But I guess that is a different complaint for another thread.

I'm trying to recall the "Oh No" moment Major? I can't think of it.

During the poor excuse for a chase, Bond hit a button expecting some Q-Branch magic, and "New York, New York" starts playing on the radio. Other people have a problem with his delivery of "Mr White, of course", not me, that's ok. It's his "Oh no" which is so half hearted.

Yes, got it. Sometimes you see a quote and despite numerous viewings you can't bring it to mind. Yes, terrible chase. If Hinx had at least fired a few bullets at Bond when he drew level it would've raised the chase by a notch or two. They just stare at each other.

John Curcio's comment on the clip below is right. All the scenes that show an anonymous Blofeld stroking his cat (FRWL, TB and YOLT) are rather funny once you imagine the cat is the villain.

For me some of the most unintentionally funny moments occured in SP. I definitely agree on "Oh no" and "Of course, Mr. White", but some other "hah" moments include:

    1. octopuses around Craig during the music titles
    2. Bond and Swann jumping each other after the train fight
    3. "I love you"
    4. "Cahhnt any of you speeeek!"
    5. "You're leaving?" (*cringe laugh*)
    6. Hanging photos
    7. Blofeld's little 'Landa snigger' at MI6 ruins
    8. "author of all yer pain"

These moments are especially notable because they come out of nowhere and don't fit in with the tone. So they are sort of 'huh?' as well as laugh out moments.

I think number 2 was intentional.

Yes, perhaps you're right. It's just that if so then Smith's instrumental tune playing just doesn't work because that song is quite serious lyrically.
  • DikkoHendersonDikkoHenderson Daniel Craig at the plastic surgery clinic- "Gently my friend Gently... THAT'S NOT BLOODY GENTLY!!"

Always found Bond's disposal of his dead friend Mathis, by throwing his body in a dumpster was unintentionally funny- or were we supposed to think it was darkly comic? Its hard to tell the intentions with such a poorly made movie.

I forgot to add this earlier. Oh dear. *Cringe*

"Get away from me!! Get away!! Did it cross your mind that you led them to me!!" while swinging her finger around near her head like 'you loco'

    "Go to hell!!!!"

I mean really, who came up with this crap? I hope they weren't paid.
  • Yes. Disgusting types.

When @Thunderfinger calls you disgusting, it's time to reevaluate your life.

Jumping each other to that over-the-top instrumental was surely designed to get audience laughs. I don't agree with the choice, tonally, and I think it does ultimately undermine the attempt at creating a believable romance between Bond and Swann—this self-aware jab at the well-trodden trope of Bond and Bond girl making love immediately upon escaping certain death—but surely the scene wasn't intended any other way.

What does make me laugh, unintentionally, every time is when Bond and Swann are having a pretty deeply emotional moment in the streets of London before she departs and she says "James, I can't" and then we cut to Bond standing there like Archer in his tactleneck pulling a confused expression and saying something to the effect of "You mean you can't stay or you can't...?" I seriously have no idea why that's there. There's no way they could have been going for comedy—Thomas Newman's gorgeously sad piano music tells us so—and yet the moment is pure Archer.

I completely agree @Some_Kind_Of_Hero . That was my point #5. above. A moment so ridiculous that I honestly couldn't believe what I witnessed in the theatre. I couldn't believe that they thought that would be anything but a funny moment given the manner in which it was executed.
  • Oh I see. Didn't realize that was the part you were referring to.

I haven't gone through this thread so forgive me if it's been said, but in LTK, when Dalton yells "Della!!" In an otherwise fantastic performance, I can't believe Glen let that one stay in. Not sure if if was bad ADR but it almost ruins a powerful moment. I can't help but chuckle

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but the way Dalton draws his gun in both TLD's Puskin interrogation scene and more notably in the hotel in LTK when Pam walks in always gets a chuckle out of me. So theatrical.

    @bondbat007 I agree on "Della!!!!"

@Safin_Unmasked , great list. Never really noticed the death disco in TSWLM, but now that you mention it. Lot of tasteless stuff in that one.
