    @ClarkDevlin I thought so too at First, but it was specifically said in the press Release of Eidolon that this is a six Part Story. I am checking almost daily myself

    I know I've read that Eidolon is six issues as well.

    Concerning but I would not worry as of yet.

    Let's wait and see what we'll get. Perhaps they'll announce it early next month.

    I feel like Casino Royale might get delayed, it's supposed to come out in two month but there has been zero advertising or Interviews. Also Eidolon and Hammerhead will Run in paralel for 3 issued apparently and having CR on top of that Sounds like Overkill, at least from a Marketing perspective. Might be better to Put it out in febuary/March where it can have the Spotlight

    Yes @00Agent and @ClarkDevlin all very exciting but yet kind of nerve racking at the same time. At least we have promise on the comics newsfront whereas as the films, novels, and especially games all seem rather quiet.

    No no, Hammerhead is a 6 parter as well. what i meant was that the First three issues of Hammerhead will be released in paralel with the last three issues of Eidolon by the look of it. So we will have a Double Dose of Bond for the next three month anyway.

    I may have missed this but are we to understand that Vargr and Eidolon take place after modernized versions of Fleming's novels? I only ask because of Leiter's arm and the mention of Blofeld being dead.

    How old do all of you think this Bond is, if these stories are post-Fleming? Of course he could still be relatively young if the Fleming stories took place earlier in his career and happened more frequently, making him not age that much.

    I'm assuming if this takes place in 2016, the events of YOLT happened in or around 2008. I kind of imagine this Bond is middle-aged by default.

    I think the only graphic novel we have in the pipeline right now is Casino Royale.

    Based on advanced reviews Hammerhead (which I'm still unsure if stand-alone or the continuation after Eidolon) looks like might a more than good enough defacto graphic novel for you ...and me.

    @mcdonbb, Hammerhead will be a six-issue miniseries, and yes, Andy Diggle confirmed it's going to pick up where Ellis left off chronology-wise, but won't directly address it. However, regarding its labeling and numbering won't be on the same title which is James Bond, but it'll go under James Bond: Hammerhead instead.

    And by the way, we won't be getting a release this month. Issue #10 is pushed back to October 2.

    First thing I noticed, @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7. Definitely inspired by a couple of fan artworks for Skyfall that were also Saul Bass-esque that I've seen hovering around online.

    I've just read the Vargr story, the collected volume, and although some moments were great I didn't like it as a whole. The biggest problem for me is that the writers clearly has no clue on who Flemings Bond is (if one's new to writing Bond, that's where you have to start and get your inspiration). He isn't supposed to be a violent murdering maniac as he is portrayed here, he is supposed to be a man who dislikes killing but does it out of loyalty to his country and to his values. If you want to portray Bond as a maniac you have to show me how he became one, something that happened which makes him act "wrong" or "against his values". That's why I can accept QOS for instance, because of what happened in CR. Here the writers have chosen to just ignore his original personality and lets him randomly kills everyone he sees, and also with extreme violence. I always have big problems with graphic violence, wherever it occurs (it's just not my thing), and within the Bond world I have an even bigger problem with it. I just don't like Bond being this violent killer. His kills should be clean, causing as little suffering as possible, and even spare the enemys he can dispose of in other ways. He dislikes killing, he dislikes suffering. That's the dynamic about Bond that makes him such an interesting and likeably character: he's a killer who values human life.

    The story as a whole was also unusually bleak. The usual larger-than-life feeling is largely absent. I'm a big fan of the more thriller-esque stories in both novels and films, but they always have a touch of absurdity. That was totally missing here, which is a shame.

    The only thing I they got right was Bonds ironical humour, which was the only pages I really enjoyed. Otherwise, this doesn't work for me, and fails on many levels. But I'm still interested to move on to Eidolon, and especially the Casino Royale adaptation. There they should be able to get Bond at least :)
