    Thanks @Creasy47 for posting that. I had no idea there was a wiki page pointing this stuff out, or that "twin films" was an accepted term.

    The two Hitchcock and Capote films were the ones I was thinking of, but couldn't recall.

    I feel ashamed I stopped learning French at school. Those clips remind me of the musicality I also recognized in La French. Perhaps I will check this out with subtitles.

    I'll be checking out this film tomorrow in a double bill with 'Star Trek Beyond':



    Really excited for this film, been several years since I last saw an Asian film on the big screen.

    So much movie stuff to wake up to from my nap... been reading and looking at stuff for a couple of hours now. Niiice. Now I'm, like "that was all cool - is there more?" - not that I'm greedy or anything... (ehem). Some I knew for a fact were coming - like The Promise (world premiere) being announced for TIFF - but still yay! A few things...

    EXCLUSIVE: After faring so well together in Talladega Nights and Step Brothers, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are re-teaming in another Sony Pictures comedy. They’ll star in Holmes & Watson, with Etan Cohen directing a script that is inspired by the Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes tale, but with a PG-13 comic bent similar to their past collaborations. Ferrell and Reilly have been looking for several years to find another opportunity to work together, and now they’ve got it. Ferrell will play Holmes and Reilly will play his faithful wing man, Watson.

    @ClarkDevlin, the whole film Peña would just be purposely emphasizing a Mexican accent, paying no attention to the fact that he's meant to be playing a Brit.

    A scene where Peña's Lestrade enters a crime scene, and addresses the possible suspects near the location:

    "Hey there, eses, looks like we got a murder up in here. It's a good thang my homes Holmes is here to do somethin' about that. And you guys must not be eatin' enough apples to keep a doctor away, cuz Watson is right behind him. Oooh, you all in trooouble. All you are suspects."

    Not really, no. I like Sandra Bullock (and will end up buying the DVD), but this film doesn't need two remakes and however many sequels. The original 1960 film is still cooler than ice.

    @Creasy47? You think this movie could be Arthur C. Clarke-esque Sci-Fi epic?

    The movie with Amy Adams in the lead is directed by one of my favourite directors: Denis Villeneuve. We know Mr Villeneuve from some very critically acclaimed movies like 'Sicario' (MetaCritic: 81%. RottenTomatoes: 94%), 'Incendies' (MetaCritic: 92%. RottenTomatoes: 82%) and 'Prisoners' (MetaCritic: 74%. RottenTomatoes: 81%).

    'Arrival' is based on the 1998 Sci-Fi novel 'Story Of Your Life', which was written by author Ted Chiang. The story deals with themes like determinism, language, and a more intellectual take on the Sapir–Whorf hypothesis (a concept-paradigm in linguistics and cognitive science that holds that the structure of a language affects its speakers' cognition or world view).

    From what I have read about the premise of this film, it will be a rather complex tale with no specific ending, leaving explanations to your own imagination. Could be very very interesting no?     I'm indeed very intrigued by Terrence Malick's new project 'Voyage Of Time: Life's Journey', especially since I loved his movies 'The Tree Of Life' (MetaCritic: 85%. RottenTomatoes: 84%) and 'Knight Of Cups' (MetaCritic: 53%. RottenTomatoes: 46%). I know 'Voyage Of Time' is a documentary this time around, but I am a sucker of space exploration, astrobiology and astronomy. In fact, it's a big hobby of mine, and these kind of documentaries should be viewed on a big IMAX-screen.

    Thanks for the link @Creasy47 ;-). I'm curious though if you like his 'style' of directing, which is many times perceived as 'weird' or 'odd'. Many mainstream movie lovers don't 'get' his movies or shorts. Remember, this version is not to be confused with the 40-minute IMAX version that will be narrated by Brad Pitt. The version coming to TIFF is the 35mm 90-minute edition that will be narrated by Cate Blanchett. Here's the trailer:

    He didn't exactly "make it", he's just one of the producers. The producers' names are only used in advertising when they're a big name. Most people wouldn't have a clue who the director Luke Scott is, so he isn't a selling point.
