If past history accounts for anything there won't be a Bond actor announcement this year! Every Bond actor after Sean Connery was announced the year before their first Bond film was released.

George Lazenby announced 1968 - On Het Majesty's Secret Service released 1969.

Roger Moore announced 1972 - Live And Let Die released 1973.

Timothy Dalton announced 1986 - The Living Daylights released 1987.

Pierce Brosnan announced 1994 - Goldeneye released 1995.

Daniel Craig announced 2005 - Casino Royale released 2006.

If Bond 25 is released 2018 the new actor will be announced summer or autumn 2017. Also if the distribution deal drags on - and the screenplays tend to get rewrites right up to filming date - it's likely 2018 is Bond 25's release date. So er... don't expect an announcement soon! ;) And Craig may do a U-turn and come back. Probably. Maybe. I have no idea. :D

I think the supposed announcement would be for Craig's departure, not to announce a new actor.

    Or the new distributors.

I can't post a link since I can't use the site due to my Adblocker, but Forbes speculates that Bond will end up at Warner Bros., with Christopher Nolan in the director's seat.

Not sure how I feel about Nolan. If the Bond films were grim enough, they will just get grimmer now. But, I'm glad Warner Bros will finally get to handle Bond given the claim is true, which I hope it is.

But if you remove all the posts that are exactly the same as on the previous page, maybe just 500.

Paul Haggis wants back in for Bond 25; backs Idris Elba as the next Bond

He should have directed Bond 22.

There are some great interviews from Haggis here:

Instead of arguing for the next 10 pages if Bond can be black, lets focus on Haggis.

For me he is the chief reason that CR was so good. I hope he comes back. Maybe with Campbell?

No thanks. Martin Campbell was the driving force for CR.

    Ok.

    First he wants Elba.

Second he said this: 'but they’ve got really good writers'.

Any guy who thinks Elba should be Bond and P&W are good writers I want nowhere near the series.

Haggis's work on the CR was primarily focusing on Bond I believe. Right?

And how can he not want Trump as president? It would be great for the Bond series.

Also Justin Bieber for the title song.

Craig will also make a cameo in order to confirm the codename theory.

So Nolan being rumored again... Shrugs the series could do worse

Jake24 found the article I would change the title to reflect this Mark Hughes is actually quite reliable
