New article about Mexico on Mi6-hq.

    http://www.mi6-hq.com/news/index.php?itemid=11577&t=mi6&s=news

The article interestingly mentions that Mexico could very well double for Baja California, Mexico, the location of Blofeld's oil rig control center, as mentioned in Diamonds Are Forever. I think now we're all pretty confident that Blofeld has a serious chance of returning in Bond 24.

however you fail to see the last time they Filmed in mexico was Quantum of Solace where the organization was named in film. so clearly this means Quantum returns

I hope you are joking... =))

please... its obvious that since they are filming in Mexico - the same place where they filmed scenes in LTK, it means there is a serious chance we can see the return of Prof. Joe Butcher

    Licence-to-Kill-Professor-Joe-Butcher-Wayne-Newton_zpscd84e354.jpg

Since we've established Christoph Waltz is playing the part of Professor Joe, does anyone think Lea Seydoux will be resurrecting the part of Lupe? And if so, what role will El Presidente have in all of this and who will they cast to play him?

This press conference can not come soon enough!

Blofeld's return is a slightly more realistic proposition. Got to go. Goldeneye is about to start on ITV4.

One thing I might suggest is that the story should also show us what the villain is up to, not just what Bond is progressing through. Not saying it should reveal the entire plot the antagonist is cooking up, but at least glimpses of his plans and stances, like they did in Casino Royale, for instance, or the preceding Classic Bond's.

But they got the rights! Why not use him? He's the most iconic villain in the Bond canon. Ranked number one everywhere!

If you can't tell. This is sarcasm.

Lol funny ...quick question. Someone said Waltz first two time Oscar winner in the series but wasn't Dench also a multi Oscar winner???

I wonder why they'd get the rights to the character without using him in any way, shape or form.

So someone else couldn't get the rights and make their own rival Bond film like Kevin McClory.

So... Blofeld has some financial appeal, then. if someone else could get the rights and use him, like the rest of TB.

I do remember reading an article where someone tried to remake Thunderball again, who happened to be part of the McClory Estate, with the project called BLOFELD, which EON also stopped. So, that makes sense why they have acquired the rights to the character and his organization. There is no point in bringing Blofeld back, at the moment. Newer characters, newer concepts, more creativity. That should be a satisfaction for me.

k you howling mad for pointing that out to me. I was playing along with your sarcasm. But in all seriousness a modern interpretation of ESB would imo be a far more chilling and an effective adversary than a modern version of Goldfinger.

Well, there is another thread for the Blofeld debate. Or two. Or three. Not so much of a dead horse. That does not mean he will be in Bond 24. Or that he should. Just that the character is relevant.

I doubt he will play a Mathis type character. So far he's the only name who has been brought forward since Ejiofor. If only for that I think he will be a villain.

In all honesty, I do not think Waltz is going to play Blofeld. We already know his role will be rather large and will be complex of nature. It can be an ally, a villain or a bit of both. I personally think Waltz will play a character not that much different from Silva. An ex-ally who turned into a villain. But this time around I actually think we will see the process on screen, of the ally turning into a villain.

Waltz could play a covert information source for MI6. A source that leaks important cables to MI6, but that slowly, during the movie, sells this information to a "new brotherhood" of somekind. A bit like Dryden did in "Casino Royale". Then at the end of Bond 24 Waltz has turned into a full operative of this new "brotherhood", being then revealed as S.P.E.C.T.R.E. He then is the new "Nr.2". And is even more complex than that old Nr.2, Emilio Largo. A bit of a Kronsteen/Largo-combo.

Furthermore, at the end of the movie, we will have our first cameo of the Nr.1 operative. A man, who could very well be Blofeld. I think that's how Waltz role will turn out to be. Not the actual Blofeld, but at least an ally that during the movie will evolve into the villain, and a very important operative of S.P.E.C.T.R.E.

Snow likely at the beginning. Cold is symbolic of death, harsh times, a time when all odds are against you, survival, etc. Then warmer as it comes to a close, a means of regaining power, resurrection, etc.

So in my opinion it will be:

    Mexico - PTS
    Austria - **** goes down
    London - M briefing, Q, Moneypenny
    Austria again - Bond investigates
    Italy - Bond follows/tracks/spy things
    Morocco - Finale

Would make sense geographically, from South America, then south from Europe finishing off in Africa.

    Alternative scenario:

    Mexico - PTS
Morocco - Post-titles similar to Casino royale in Mada., big plan is about to unfold, meeting
    Austria - **** goes down.
London - Bond is seen again after not being seen since the PTS
    Italy
    Austria - Finale

    --> Gunbarrel
--> Somewhere in Austrian mid air: A Bond-less PTS. The crash of a huge airplane in mid air, caused by something mysterious. It had an MI6-informant on board
    --> Main Titles
--> Casablanca, Morocco: Bond is on a well-deserved holiday in Casablanca. Playing tennis with an adorable cuty. Gets called in by Moneypenny.
--> London, England: Bond goes to Mallory's office. Present there are Tanner, a new secretary of state. new information about the MI6-operative, who was en route to meet in Italy.
--> Caserta, Italy: Bond meets both "Q" and Moneypenny in Caserta. "Q" shows off his phobia of flying, especially after that plane crash in Austria. Bond gets his new Aston Martin.
--> Rome, Italy: Bond visits a huge part at a big royal palace. There he gets to meet the head of Station "I", played by Christoph Waltz. At first an ally. Bond is being shadowed by a henchman, played by Dave Bautista. He also meets Lea Seydoux there. Car chase takes place in Rome, as Bond is almost killed.
--> Obertilliach, Austria: Lea Seydoux joins Bond to Austria. There he gets to meet the sister of Waltz, an enigmatic CEO of a company that has links with her brother's operations (Waltz). This is the mean Bond girl.
--> Sölden, Austria: Big links are found by 007 about the nature of the plane crash. Leads point towards a villa on the highest point of the Rettenbachferner glacier, where Bond finally gets the reveal that Waltz is a "Kronsteen/Largo"-like villain. Freeskiing and ski chase takes place, as Waltz is a great skier.
--> London, England: Bond gets to know that a new kind of organization is providing many secret intelligence organizations with very trustworthy intel. But it also means that intel. organizations are being played out against each other. Killing of the MI6-operative in mid air was because he carried vital information about the real reason behind this new covert organization that facilitates intelligence services.
--> Mexico-City, Mexico: Bond is being kept in the dark about the villain played by Waltz. But now we see the hiding place of this new organization at the end of the film. A big luxury meeting place in the highest scycraper of Mexico City. Waltz is the biggest operative of S.P.E.C.T.R.E.. But not the main one. We get first cameo of "unnamed" CEO, in which another operative gets killed.
--> Altaus See, Austria: Bond is having a lovely kissing scene with the leading Bond girl (Waltz' sister). They discuss her lovely ring, with an octopus on it.
    End Titles

    Just an idea ;-).

He's adorable no?? I met him once, during an autograph session. And he's really sweet. Just look him back on the red carpet during the "Skyfall" premiere. You want to hug him hehe.

I guess he could play a Darko Kerim type of ally, but I still think it is more likely that he will play the villain, if only because of his stature.

If he has the role that was considered for Ejiofor, I don't think he will play Blofeld. A Largo-type character? Maybe. Or a Kristatos one. The ambiguity about being a friend or a foe lead me to believe that he may be a proto-Blofeld, or a Blofeld early in his career, before he reveals himself as the villain, when he is a mastermind for hire so to speak, just like in TB. That said, again, this is entirely speculative. And if he takes the role Ejiofor was supposed to have, I can't see how he could play Blofeld.
