I would have preferred Lucy Boynton, I am not sure Turner has the acting chops or personality to pull off Lara, Turner certainly has the physicality. Saying that they have not really done Lara well in the games for sometime personality wise.
I don't have Netflix so not watched it myself, it had mixed reviews.
I know nothing of Ms. Turner's acting ability, but Lucy seems to me the better fit on first glance. I love how Lara can be hard and soft, I don't see that in Sophie.
Turner was in Game of Thrones and in all the 8 seasons, Turner never really showed any range.
Lucy is a very versatile actress and has a lot of charm and can be tough, Lucy was great in Agatha Christie's Why Didn't They Ask Evans?, Lucy was also in The Ipcress File TV adaption.
When I saw the trailer I thought that actress looks familiar, it took me a while to realize it was Sophie Turner.
Yeah, it's possible. Because it appears they really want her as Lara Croft.
I wil possible never see that series if stick behind that paywall like happend with a lot like Lotr. But get feeling series wil have same plot but then extended version.
Yeah agreed. While neither are great, Uncharted at least tried to be fun.
That one didn't look good so I didn't bother, but then again DOD did very little for me so it's always a possibility.
I think the only adaptations I've seen of the games were the two Jolie films.
I'll stick to the films we have. This doesn't really stand out to me s fun.
I never got round to seeing the first season though don't feel compelled to watch it
same same. What I loved about the Vikander-film, next to her interpretation of the role, is the fact that they kept the 'magic' to impressions, or hints, not actual 'happenings'.
If you know what I mean. It made for very interesting story-telling.
And as you said, the Jolie films are a lot of fun. I own both on DVD. I wouldn't mind a new incarnation of either, I'd definately go watch it.
But this series, as far as I can see, is taking it off the scale. That, and I find modern-day cartoons rather low-quality in their depiction of motions. You'd think they could do far more fluid videos these days with AI.
Couldn't agree more. Animation isn't living up to the promise of modern technology.
So did I. But alas, sometimes expectations run ridiculously high.
You are right many of us should lower their expectations.
I'm not sure I'm following you here. We have no financial stakes in those films...
Yeah i take better movie any day of a week versus money.
If what you're saying is that you prefer a good movie over a financially successful movie (provided they're not both), then I agree. I take Batman Begins (a BO disappointment) over Avatar (a BO hit) any day.
I cant understand why Begins was bo disappointment. Better than a just comic book movie.
