Very sad to hear of the death of Bruce Glover too. I had been his friend on Facebook for about 10 years. He used to "poke" me too out of the blue and I'd return the favour. He also wished me happy birthday twice which was nice. Wint and Kidd were the real highlight of DAF and such a good and memorable set of henchmen. Rest easy, Bruce, old pal.

That's awesome that he was your friend on Facebook. I also find Wint and Kidd as one of the best things from DAF. RIP Bruce Glover, a great character actor.

Damn this sucks. He was great to fans. For quite a few years he'd be the first to wish me a Happy Birthday on Facebook, even though we'd never actually met. A sad day for Bond fans. :(

Very sad to learn of the passing of Bruce Glover. As with many Bond fans, I’ve been friends with Bruce on Facebook for many years. We’d occasionally share a PM with each other. He was always so engaging and humble. A lovely man and a brilliant character actor. RIP Bruce.

RIP Bruce Glover, one of the highlights of a film I really like. Nice to see several of you knew him via FB, I'm not surprised he was a very likeable person. May he rest in peace.

There's a great interview with Bruce Glover on James Bond Radio. It's well worth a watch:

    George McFly's dad

    RIP

Daf is terrible, but he was quality in it
  • He was a great villain. Glover also appeared in an episode of the A-Team as did many other Bond actors.

Modern day Bond movie posters should use his influence. Not this Bond solo or one other person crap. A mix of characters helps make a good Bond poster standout.

Yes, I agree. Sadly the Bond posters haven't really been like this since about TLD or so which was the last painted one. Painted poster art seemed to go out of fashion after that.

Joe Don Baker who portrayed Brad Whitaker in TLD and Jack Wade in GE and TND has sadly passed away aged 89

That's sad news. I always liked Joe Don Baker. I feel that Brad Whitaker is an underrated villain who deserved more screen time and development. Jack Wade was fun too, in his own way. He always seemed like a nice, jolly sort of man in interviews.

    RIP

Had two roles in 007 films and aced them both. Quality in GoldenEye, such great chemistry with Brosnan.

Was only thinking about Baker in the last day or so and whether he was still around. Glad to see he lived to a good age. I liked his character of Jack Wade in both films and hope to see more era-specific allies in a similar vein and as memorable. RIP.

Was wondering that too after my latest rewatch of GE. RIP.

    R.I.P. Joe Don Baker
I agree his Brad Whitaker villain is under appreciated, I enjoyed him in the role and he had a great final set piece with Bond in TLD.
I hated his Jack Wade character, found him an annoying buffoon, much prefer him as a bad guy!
I remember him in 'Walking Tall' too, and chilling as a bad guy ( there ye go!) in 'Charley Varrick', and he also starred in one of my favourite crime thrillers 'The Outfit', with Robert Duvall.
