On leave and listening to The Maestro's music today, I still get chills listening to this.
Ramon
One of the greatest villain introductions.
Not surprisingly, it reminded me a lot of the theme for The Ipcress File, so naturally I had to listen to the whole soundtrack on YT.
The movie was also available to watch on YT so I gave it a go... unfortunately, it turned out to be a poor man's Ipcress File with Barry's music its only saving grace, despite featuring the likes of Alec Guinness and Max von Sydow.
But now I am completely obsessed with this fantastic score and I've already ordered the cd on eBay.
And Barrys score is excellent as you would expect!
The Man, The Legend/ Touchdown
Just bought the soundtrack on CD, love it.
I picked up Deliverance soundtrack on CD last week.
Epic!
Galaxy Song
I had this on LP for many years, although apart from Duelling Banjos, it's just an album of Bluegrass standards. None of which were in the film.
There's never been an official soundtrack because there's not enough music in the film to justify one..!
True, nevertheless fun listen what I have heard so far.
Not sure I have seen the film Hotel, I vaguely recall a TV show called Hotel. Those tracks are pretty good, I like that late 60'searly 70's sound.
The Struggle Within - Final Victory
Yeh, saw the film, it's an odd one, and not great, but Barry always delivers!
Another fine example of his ability to craft instantly memorable themes, even for bigger bombs such as this one, also from 1968.
Main Title
Kidnapped
Genius.
This was such an important release by quartet, the best rerecord barry score to date it deserved a better buying response to ensure more of his lesser known gems could be released in the same way such as A Jolly Bad Fellow for instance.
Just listening to A Jolly Bad Fellow on TIDAL, it is not on any of the John Barry compilation albums I own, I will have to address that. I will buy John Barry The Ultimate Collection which has that track and an incredible 91 tracks in total.
The recording of Seance on a wet afternoon on 24bit is very good indeed, incredible clarity. I don't know much about the re release of the Score, I bought it on a whim today.
Loving this score.
Ooh that sounds cool! I did love the Daft Punk score for Tron Legacy, so hopefully this is just as good!
Tron Legacy is awesome one of my favorite scores the music is perfect for the visuals. Tron Ares hopefully will be just as a good an experience, I have listened to the new score a few times today big fan of the industrial cyber punk sound. I have a lot of NIN music the Tron Ares reminds me of there earlier music.
Nine Inch Nails - As Alive As You Need Me To Be (Official Lyric Video)
Title track to Tron Ares.
Good score by Angelo Badalamenti, this is arguably the best film in the series.
That was a good score. While it was the best sequel in the series, nothing beats the original IMO..
