Do we know if verified, probably really truly all from the U.S.? Do the more popular sites have a way of checking? Just wondering.

I had one person pop into my mind when I read that. Ugh. A former member here (banned, for darn good reasons years ago) who is frothing at the mouth about NTTD; so full of hate and bitterness. He always disliked Craig as Bond (though tried to disguise that at times). He lives in another country and I feel sure he would get off on hitting every website on the internet that would allow him to diss NTTD and rank it 1 star.

Just musing on that for a bit. People who live to spread hate and discord and get their jollies trying to destroy something are truly mentally sick. Put a few together and they just feed off each other.

I don't check ratings of the film. I get the gist from this forum, from people who do look at critics' and popular film websites. So I appreciate all of your efforts, so I don't really need to dive into that.
I've noticed on Facebook a lot of streaming outlets' ads for NTTD and pop in there to see the comments. They say the same crap about woke, worst Bond ever, revealing the spoiler, the next Bond will be a woman, the series is over etc.

I've ended up doing some reverse trolling on some of the prime offenders. One woman brought up how much of a thug Craig is and how much of a charming gentleman Connery's Bond was. Much as I love him, I had to remind her of Connery's more unsavory moments. She never replied.

Another claimed Brosnan would wipe the floor with Connery's Bond and a couple of other stupid things. His big comeback was the Bond films are really original or something along those lines.

Another called Craig a dwarf because of his height and I countered it was about attitude and toughness than height and that maybe he should watch the NBA if that's what he's worried about.

"Anti-Woke" Idiots Voting Down NTTD on Amazon (U.S.):

It's down to 3 stars, mainly due to some dubious reviews such as these -- posted by "anti-woke" activists who are merely engaging in their own brand of Conservative Political Correctness ("CPC")...

"Bond Dies, Felix Dies, Q Is Gay, and the new 007 is a women! Daniel Craig goes out on his worst movie ever. Hollywood has no idea what the people really want. Terrible movie!! Casino Royal was Craig’s best maybe Skyfall. But this movie is terrible and disappointing. Really a woman 007. Never again will I watch Bond if it’s a woman."

"The fact that Hollyweird has now invoked the Church of Woke in this iconic character tells you everything you need to know about this movie. It is the absolute worst Bond film in quite awhile if not ever (yes, even worse than 'In her Majesty's Secret Service'). What they did to this franchise is an abomination. Horrible, horrible writing."

"Double-Oh Woke... {Nomi] is written as arrogant and disrespectful. She knows who Bond is, but is totally nonplussed by his accomplishments."

"Not good, it's like Bond crossed with Xena, Warrior Princess. You’d think Hollywood would leave Bond alone but they want to corrupt as much as they can."

"It ruins all of the iconic aspects of the franchise with a pathetic Woke abomination."

All 1-star reviews, all from the United States.

Don’t take it so seriously.Just laugh and move on.God,some people here take their devotion to their fandom too far. It’s just a movie series folks.

Q mentions having a male date in passing dialogue that probably takes up 1.5 seconds and these dorks lose their minds.

    Homophobic pieces of ****.

And in all likelihood this band of total hypocrites probably didn't have an issue with Moneypenny having a boyfriend in SPECTRE, but because Q mentions a male date in a fleeting moment of dialogue... unbelievable.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised but the amount of comments and You Tube reviews I have seen of blokes going mad about NTTD because it has women with actual personalities in the film and, heaven forbid, a black woman as 007 is depressing. Have to remind myself it's 2021 and not 1962.

If you buy the 4K version of the film, will it play on all platforms regardless (like a standard DVD player) or do you need a 4k/blu-ray player?

Bit of a daft question, but a lot like Daniel's Bond I'm not tech savy and unfortunately lack Q

No it won’t play on a standard blu ray player, you’ll need to purchase a 4K UHD Blu-ray player or other device capable of playing 4K discs such as a PlayStation 5 etc.

Cheers mate I thought as much.
It's a Christmas present for my dad, I don't think he's got a DVD player so I'll have to sort that

That 1962 thing is amusing me. Bond women always were strong (for the most part).
Honey Rider was a strong woman. Not too bright, but strong.

Pussy Galore was strong and smart. What about the women in LTK? All this progressive thinking that every new Bond is breaking new ground representing women is bull.

Sure there were some dumb women, but variety is the spice of life.

It does seem like each actor they get to play a Bond woman in a new film says "my Bond woman is different, she's strong, matches Bond, etc.", but as you say throughout the years, many Bond films featured strong women that matched Bond.

Attitudes certainly were different then than they are now, and there was some stuff that is IMO certainly not ok with regards to the treatment of women and others, but IMO one of the hallmarks of the franchise is strong women.

Yeah whenever we have a new female lead in these films that says something along the lines of “ I’m not your typical Bond girl! “ I think the only Bond movie they have ever seen is TMWTGG.

It’s not a big deal. It’s just how they try fending off the press, as they’re constantly bombarding the actresses with questions like “what makes you different from the unflattering portrayal of women in past Bond films?”

The media always goes straight to that mantra.

The women in the 007 movies serve a purpose and that is their role, and of course they want to sell themselves as different from the ladies before them. Still I find myself more drawn to the ladies from the earlier series they were exceptional.
  • NTTD's rating is now down to 3 stars (out of five) on Amazon U.S., as the parade of kneejerk 1-star "anti-woke" voting carries on.

I believe it is now the lowest rated 007 film of all 25 official films -- as well as NSNA, too.

The fanatical soldiers of "CPC" (Conservative Political Correctness) keep marching in lockstep...

    Doesn’t surprise me.

You kill off THE alpha white male protagonist that every incel idolizes as the poster man of manliness and they’ll savage it like nothing else. Brie Larson can make as many Captain Marvels, but they’ll never rile them up the way EON did.

I have pre-ordered the following edition for the German market:
    https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B09J9H75H6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As far as I understand, there are regular bluray and 4k included. Then it should run on regular Bluray players too, right?

If you're buying a 4K release that also comes with a blu-ray copy, then you'll be able to watch the blu-ray only, unless you have a 4K player/TV.

I only just now noticed that the DVD/BD/4K discs will be available before Christmas. Last time I looked amazon.de was still talking about 30 June 2022. Needless to say I ordered it now to receive it asap, although EUR 16.99 (for the BD) is far more than I spent on the overwhelming majority of my discs. I'm rather determined that I won't be converting to 4K even in the future. I'm still thrilled with the brilliance and sharpness of Full-HD on my 14-ft projection screen.

Despite being underwhelmed by the artwork, I went ahead and pre-ordered the Best Buy steelbook if only to complement my other Craig steelbooks. More importantly, this is my first 4K Bond purchase!

For the first time ever for a Bond film, I'm prioritising getting a digital copy rather than a physical copy. I haven't had the chance to watch NTTD yet, so I'll wait and see how I like it and then decide whether to get a Blu-ray release or not. For the sake of completion I'm likely to get a BR at some point, but my SP DVD has been collecting dust since 2016…

IMAX scenes not included as per this reviewer:

Whoever is responsible for this decision should definitely be fired.

I'm glad they put 'Being Bond' on the extras. That was a nice review of the Craig era. I liked how they didn't have talking heads and Craig, Broccoli and Wilson were interviewed together about it. It gave it a nicer dynamic, less stilted or rehearsed than some of those interviews can be. I'm looking forward to delving into the extras.

They are, but unfortunately the imagery isn’t much like what came before.

Did anyone genuinely believe the blu-ray would be open matte?

I didn't think they would but other high profile IMAX films (Nolan, BVS) have released with aspect ratio changes in the film. Maybe it'll be like BVS when in a few years they'll release an IMAX 4k of it.
