Domino never makes a huge impression on me, but I'm glad I'm in a minority because variety is the spice of life and all that! I find her a little bland, although I can't fault her taste in swimwear.

My sentiments exactly. I was rather more taken by her beauty when I was a kid, but her onscreen presence is a bit too vapid—or bland as you say—to really engage me these days. There is a kind of brittleness or fragility to Auger's performance that I find intriguing, but it’s something you have to look for.

I usually rate and appreciate FRWL in a lesser fashion than everyone else does, unfortuntaely; she hit 14th for me. Not to take away from anything she offers to the film, she just doesn't always stand out to me as one of the best, despite how iconic she still clearly is.

As do I. While I'm able to appreciate how others view the film, I've never connected with FRWL on a personal level and consequently tend to rank it, I guess, shockingly low. But Tania and the scenes she appears in are the exception. I didn’t have Tania quite this high, but #3 is a very deserving place. She is one of the greats.

How did I miss commenting on Domino? She’s immediately after Tracy and Vesper for me, at the very top. I absolutely love her. :x

As for Tania, she’s a big favorite as well. She’s not a S tier Bond girl for me like Domino is, but not that far off. 👍

The suspense becomes unbearable... Who is our #1 and by what margin?

Both ladies made Bond cynical and drove him cold. Both ladies played pivotal, even transformative roles in Bond's life. And neither of both had to feed us any of that "she's a stroooong woman, she's Bond's equal" crap. They bring nuance and mystery and are deadly charming to boot. This is how you create the perfect Bond girl.

Unbeatable. The best characters in the Bond film series with the exception of James himself. Maybe even better than him. Of the two, Tracy’s the one for me.

As usual everything comes down to the eternal duo of favourites, OHMSS and CR.

Our silver medalist, representing France, is:

    EVA GREEN
    as Vesper Lynd
    in CASINO ROYALE

    CasinoRoyale_onesheet_VesperStyle_UK-1.jpg

Vesper claims an impressive second spot, receiving six gold medals, two silver medals and three bronze medals.

She also obtained two 4th places and one 5th place. Additionally seven more top 10's were collected.

Her worst placement was a single 22nd spot.

    Vesper Lynd collected 195 points.

    ----

Which brings us to the top spot, our gold medalist, representing the UK:

    DIANA RIGG
    as Tracy di Vincenzo
in ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE

    On-Her-Majesty%E2%80%99s-Secret-Service-German-lobby-card-9-set-2.-1969.jpg

With eight gold medals, the most of any participant, seven silver medals, also the most of any participant, and three bronze medals, Tracy deservedly takes the top spot.

To complete her impressive run she also obtained one 4th, one 5th and four 6th places. That's 24 members who ranked her in their top 6.

In other words, only two members rated her lower than 6th: one 14th place and a fairly isolated 24th spot.

Tracy di Vincenzo is the only candidate that surpassed the 200-points mark, scoring a whopping 221 points.

Congrats to Tracy, forever Mrs. Bond

  • Well done @GoldenGun with another great game! Can't argue with those results.

@DarthDimi , I do believe that both were "strong" women, but in a different way than having to be Bond's equal.

@GoldenGun , great choice of photos for Tracy!

The winner was obvious from the beginning. Tracy is wonderful and I always fall in love with her when she appears on the ice skating rink. She knows how to drive a car.

That is impressive. A conclusive and deserved win as you say.

I'm quite happy with this result. All well-deserved! The final list looks fine. The top 5 was absolutely smashing! My number 1 was always Solitaire, but I cannot disagree with the final winners. Well deserved!

Thanks to @GoldenGun for pulling all this together for us. It's been interesting following the countdown and I'm quite happy with my list in comparison with the final rankings. Some surprises, some disappointments, but a lot of fun! :)

@GoldenGun brings a lot of joy to my Bond fan life. I hope he's planning another one of these as we speak. I mean, there are still villains, scores and theme songs, ... Thanks, GG!

By the way: For those of you wondering what Miss Solitaire, Jane Seymour, is up to nowadays, go watch the Kominsky Method on Netflix, season 2.

Great stuff, another fun round and about what I expected for the top players (with lots of surprises thrown in still). Tracy is easily my #1, no question, as iconic and pivotal as they come. Vesper ranked #11 for me - she's classically beautiful and wonderfully fleshed out but, again, too many others I prefer over her.

I had Vesper at 11 too. Beautiful and very well acted, but between the George Lucas romantic dialogue and some very opaque motivations, she just didn't crack the top 10. Tracy was number four.

Thanks, @GoldenGun! Can't wait for the villains edition!

Yes @GoldenGun, really well done. I had Vesper at #6 but joined several others of you in putting Tracy at the top. A great and lovely actress, and a multi-faceted and talented character; you can see why Bond would want to spend the rest of his life with her.

First: Thanks for all of your hard work @GoldenGun. You have certainly earned a dry vodka martini (shaken not stirred 😊).

I also had Diana Rigg’s “Tracy” at number 1.

Now did my love for Diana’s turn as Emma Peel or Lady Olenna Tyrell bias my ranking? Probably. But “Tracy” clicks off so many boxes on my “Bond Girl” scorecard that it is difficult to know where to start. And of course, Ms. Rigg’s performance as Tracy is breathtakingly good. For me, she is the perfect blend of beauty, wit, intelligence and vulnerability. Which is also a good description for the actress herself.

I also had Eva Green’s Vesper at number 2 only because …. Well, you know “first love is true love.” Maybe if I were younger and saw CR first, she would have gotten my vote since I also think she embodies many of the same traits that I find appealing.

I wonder what these two lovely ladies were discussing back in 2014? 😊

Am I the only person on Earth who can absolutely not stomach Pam Bouvier? It certainly seems that way as per podcasts, the people on here, etc.

    You're not alone, @Birdleson

Simple. She is an annoying human being. Really grates on me.

    Me as well.

One thing I have come to terms with regarding her over the past couple years is that she’s playing the role exactly as it was intended. She is perfect if that role. I just cannot stand the character.

It's not really the actress' fault. It's Maibaum and Wilson's. She seems like a combination of Aki(YOLT) and Holly(MR) which would've been OK with me if she had been written more competently. However, her character's personality tends to fluctuate between being a supposedly tough CIA pilot one moment and a whiny, jealous high school girl the next. Just did not appeal to me.

And given that the role of “Tiffany Case” was written in a sassy /comic vain (compared to “Domino”, for example), I think Ms. St. John’s performance was reasonably successful. While her acting ability wasn’t/isn’t going to make anyone forget Greer Garson, Barbara Stanwyck, etc., I’ve always found her a fun watch. Think Stella Stevens….

@Dwayne Agreed. Ever seen Stella's performance in the Dean Martin/Matt Helm spoof The Silencers? Her Gail Hendrix and Jill's Tiffany Case seem cut from the same cloth. I enjoyed both of their performances.

Another one that I have always liked. I think she's vastly superior to Bach, but that's just me. Her relationship with Bond is better developed too I'd say, despite not having the superior back story.

Agreed. Holly is my favorite of the secret agent Bond heroines.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! Also a big thank you to all the participants!

I will come up with a medal table somewhere during the weekend.

Maybe we can do the film scores next, if enough people are interested :)

I'd absolutely love that, GG! Perhaps we can go double: scores and theme songs? Or do you prefer to do one at a time?

Film scores would be a blast to go through, but honestly, I don't mind what the game is next. This method of doing it is really fun and opens up some fun, daily discussions with you guys while we're still in limbo on NTTD. Great work as always, @GoldenGun, looking forward to your next announcement!
