Hopefully the next era will bring in some more interest in terms of the James Bond titles as video games, but I'm not optimistic. Been radio silent for many years now.

Well they broke radio silence once... to tell Goldeneye 25 no.

I could live without Bond games, if we had a spy series of games, but we don't have that. *cough* Splinter Cell *cough*

It’s been 4 years since Alkeline’s gun and I think that was the last spy game

Even if we go with Hitman the most recent one came in 2018 which yeah I haven’t played the new ones but still

I'm in the apparent minority who didn't care for Hitman 2, which is the second weakest of the series in my ranking. Looked sleek, had a couple of cool added features but the maps were nowhere near as good and replayable as that of Hitman (2016), which was an excellent title. Great levels, great upgrades to the series and was all in all very entertaining. Some of those levels were instant classics to me, particularly Paris, Sapienza and Hokkaido.

Might as well check out both with Hitman 3 closing out the trilogy in only two months. It's not as fun for me, with underwhelming/shortened maps (Hawke's Bay could've been so great yet instead it's used as some lame training mission, leaving only five real maps left in the base game), forgettable targets, cost-cutting cutscenes, and even forced objectives that eliminate the true sandbox feel of the maps and instead force you to eventually complete other objectives elsewhere.

GTA San Andreas (PS2 Classic) on PS4.

Goodness me this game brings back memories. I can almost remember the layout of the map.

The PS4 version emulates the PS2 game so there are no further enhancements. Its runs same as it did on PS2 but upscaled to 4k.

Ouch, its age shows, technically at least. A full on remake of this, and VC, would be awesome.

Its OK that it shows age. Look at GTA 2, it's one of the best games of the series. The graphics are what they are, but I wouldn't want a remake of the game just because of the graphics.

I've been playing these so much lately to tide me over until the PS5 is out. I wish GTA IV was available on the PS4, it's my favorite of the series by far and easily my all time favorite game.

I still have it for my PS3. It's my second fave in the series behind Vice City.

The gameplay, to me, still holds up, and for my money is better than GTA V. The movement controls certainly are better.

Agreed, movement and physics are much nicer - driving controls are much more fun and less arcade-y and the destruction is, surprisingly, infinitely better than anything in V.

I forgot about that game. Though it was rough around the edges, I quite liked it. With the PS5 just around the corner, it would ease the frustration if Sony were to reboot the Syphon Filter games.

    The Sinking City
I was playing this earlier this year, but lost my momentum. Started over from the beginning yesterday. One of the things I like about this game, other than the atmopshere, is how the game doesn't hold your hand. The game will provide 2 or 3 streets, and leave it to the player to find the exact location from the streets provided.

Alekhine's Gun was OK as a throwaway Hitman clone but damn, that's one of the most poorly structured, buggy releases I've ever played. Just went back through to get the Platinum Trophy on it earlier this year and it was a nightmare with those mechanics and bugs and glitches.

Now there's a game I haven't thought of, or seen mentioned in a long time.

I just went to check if it is backwards compatible with the X Box One (as I still have the original X Box game), it's not.

What’s interesting is Mission Impossible for n64 did a lot of things that splinter cell and hitman would eventually do....

I am curious what everyone’s top ten spy games are I think I created a thread to this regard years ago but meh

Whilst I waited for Spiderman to download yesterday, I purchased Inside for just £3 off the PS Store.

I'm trying to find the words for this game but the ones that come to mind - incredible, sublime, haunting, beautiful, don't appear to do it justice. Itsjust WOW. An utter masterpiece.

It has been a long time since a game left me dumbfounded. The last time was probably Resident Evil 4, fifthteen years ago (although The Last of Us came close).

I never got to play that one but it certainly looked enticing. For something a bit similar, I can't recommend Limbo enough. It's a short platformer with a lot of emotion and atmosphere.

I've played a demo of Limbo on PS3 years ago so I was aware it was developed by the same team.

I can't recommend Inside enough @Creasy47. If Terry Gilliam was to make a video game, it would be this.

That's even more enticing, as I'm a huge fan of Gilliam. He's made two of my all-time favorite films: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Brazil. Brilliant director. I'll have to check it out sometime.

Brazil was the film I thought of after the first 15 minutes of playing it

Delicious. It's definitely on my list then, thanks for the recommendation, my friend.

Finished my first run through of Spider Man: Miles Morales. It's not bad although I don't think it justifies it's price tag. The best I can describe is somewhere between standalone game and extended DLC. It doesn't really bring anything new to the table. The story was pretty meh but my main gripe is:
noticeable lack of supervillains (aside from one or two)

I agree, but it served its purpose until we get another Spider-Man game from Insomniac Games. I still trust them with quality.

It was nice to be dropped back into that world. I think they compared this game to Uncharted: The Lost Legacy which I think are equally as good as each other.
I really liked Tinkerer and the relationship with Miles. I think it is rushed and a tad underwritten but it is very typical of a Spider-Man story
    Also
I kind of want to see Gwen Stacy pop up in the sequel and possibly get a Spider-Gwen game similar to this one

Looks like I dodged a bullet, no pun intended. I was going to pick this up, but I don’t know when I’ll have proper internet connection for my PS4.
