Speak for yourself. I want depth and emotion, and Nolan makes me think when I watch him films. I hate mindless action. Drama can be exciting, and even fun. BB and TDK have plenty of fun, but I guess you don't see it. Heath enters the ranks of Hannibal Lecter with his portrayal of the Joker, and the film itself is an amazingly moving piece of film, that shows everything comic book films can be more than just comic book films, but mature and intelligent pieces of work. Nolan is an absolute genius, and has never let me down. I wait for TDKR, and ready myself for a heart stopping conclusion.

The Arkham games are not only great Batman content, they are also two incredibly fun games, well-made and with a tremendous story. I'm a Batman comic book fan first and foremost, and Arkham A and C are right up my alley.

Yep amazing games, hopefully BMmk 3 in 2015 add more of the detective side.

    What is BMmk3?

Batman Mark 3 - the third series of Batman films. The first two being 1989 - 1997 and 2005 - 2012.

The new series won't begin in 2015 though, even Warner Brothers themselves think anywhere from 2017 to 2022. Don't wait around for that!

I hate this whole "separate series" thing. Is it not just considered the whole Batman movie series? Sure, Batman Begins started the series anew, but I just consider it all one series.
I like it. When Nolan leaves Batman in acclaim, and sets a separate trilogy from Batman's established cannon, I can look back and smile that someone did Batman right while watching the lackluster adaptions to come, and be proud that they don't share the same universe.

We don't know anything about them yet, give them a chance ;)

I know, but after Nolan's work I can't see myself becoming more impressed, moved, and happier to be a Batman fan.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing what's next but it'll be hard to top Nolan.

It actually makes a lot of sense, sir. This is the way of the comic books too, you see. I like having various takes on the material, various styles, various aesthetics, various levels of 'class'... Some days I feel like watching the Burton Batman, some days I feel like watching the Nolan Batman, some days I prefer one of the animated features and yes, there are days when I feel like watching the unspeakable. ;-)

After watching Batman begins i am really REALLLLLLLLLLY hoping The Batman or whatever the reboot is called has an unused villian Haveing a writer director team set up a new world starting with say mad Hatter or even Man Bat or ClayFace would be a nice way to push past the Burton Schumacher and Nolan worlds.

I don't think you can ever get past characters like the Joker or Catwoman. Audiences demand them.

Yes, that is like having a Sherlock Holmes movie or series without Moriarty. It just isn't done. Joker NEEDS to be there.

I wouldn't want to use The Joker so much so that he "out-stays his welcome", so to speak. Besides, I do agree with @Risico007 that a lesser-known and less publicized villain needs to have the spotlight in any upcoming Batman movie. As he had stated, it is time for the likes of The Mad Hatter, Clayface, or Man-Bat to take the throne.

But Nolan did just that. He showcased Ra's AND Scarecrow, two never seen in a film before. And you can't overuse Joker. He steals the show no matter how much screentime he gets.

The Joker is so big, you can't introduce him in the first film of any series I think. You need that film to set up Batman. Bringing the Joker into it, means drawing away attention from the Batman's first outing. Burton did it, but then Batman's origin story was squeezed in a three minute scene. It worked, I'm merely saying that if you want it big enough, you need to choose.

I'd love to see them use The Killing Joke, including the point where Joker
    shoots Oracle
. Also, if they ever decide to jump into the later career of the Batman, why not introduce Nightwing and Jason Todd, allowing for some drama?

Man, there's so much stuff in the Batman universe to go with. Batman Beyond, however, is where I draw the line. I only care about the Bruce Wayne Batman.

Yes, the first Batman film in any series must be set up to outline why Batman does what he does, and his rules he must follow to be the protector of Gotham, with the Joker coming later to show why he has those rules, and face the drama when he almost breaks them. I say never bring in Robin or the others. Having people around him to help fight crime defies Batman as a character. He is solitary and brooding, comfortable in his isolation and hardly trusts anyone besides Alfred, Gordon, and Selina. Batman's fear that he uses to bring down his enemies is so strong a force because he is just one thing, one absolute shadow that follows their every move in the darkness of the night. Tacking on the other crime fighters fractures that image. Batman is brilliant because he makes criminals feel danger. He is there, but you don't know where, and he is one sole example of justice. A brooding man who's main tool is fear should not be playing dad to a bunch of sidekicks. That's just not who the character is in my mind.

Detective Comics #38 April 1940 says hi.

But on a serious note I very much agree with you. I like my batman as a sole character where the attention doesn't stray onto his side kicks. He works best alone and I think Nolan has done an impeccable job realizing this and translating it onto the big screen.

Batman begins is Spider-Man 2 of the franchise but with better effects and not having that return of the villian the whole time.

Highlight of TDK are some remembers to Batman include the part of Gary Oldman. Joker whas over-rated because of the death of the actor but better then expect.

Screentime is the biggest problem of the movie and Batman feels not like Batman. Not having Katie Holmes made Maggie Gylenhaal her part worse whyle it isn't her fault.

Harry Potter 2 is 162 minutes and if TDKR fix the problems of TDK (Who is Boring/dificult to follow story/to dark/missing 1 or 2 action scene's and more humor.) then the also the 164 minutes should not be a problem. But it have been better if TDKR have been even long like Batman Begins.

I whas happy there not yuse a earlier yused villian for Begins.

    Batman Begins be better with
    the litle bit GE reference
that going to be yused for TDKR what i hope it mean wil help to like that more then TDK include what be left from TDK.

On this moment i hope there wil not be another Batman franchise again but a 4th movie with the promised Riddle or/and better Return of The Joker with his assistent.

But iam afraid it wil be reboot, there is already imdb page and Darren Aronofsky as remour directer. IF that be the case i hope on the riddle, the only exeption of a earlier yused villian i don't mind if it not be villian in the first place.

    Casting:

    matthew-goode-tom-ford.jpg
Matthew Goode http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0328828/ as The Riddle
    drew-barrymore-instyle-february-2012-4.jpgdrew-barrymore-instyle-february-2012-7.jpg
    Drew Barrymore as Harley Quinn
    12-rounds-cena-trailer.jpg
John Cena http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1078479/ as The Joker. First iam thinking about Marc Whalberg as best follow up.

Legendary moment from The Animated Series.

the more I think about it the more I think Mad hatter could be a strong villain for a film possibly even a primary villian the idea of mind control and manipulation... a film with him and say Dr hugo strange could make for a very dark but awesome film.

Ah yes, I have wondered why old Hugo hasn't gotten a starring role in a Batman movie yet! After all, he is the only adversary of The Caped Crusader to have figured out that Bruce Wayne is Batman!

In the older comics, it tended to happen more often. Also, Ra's figured it out pretty quickly during their first confrontations in '71. ;-)

Good lord, Catwoman, Ivy, Oracle, Talia, Huntress, Wonder Woman, ... Who isn't a femme fatale in some way or another in this man's creations? ;-)

Have you played the recent two video games, sir? Even Harley is quite the hottie and I feel downright guilty for saying that.

(No, Joker, please, I was just ... PLEASE GOD NO!!!!)

Yes, I adore them. And Catwoman needs to contact her tailor, as she isn't getting a proper use out of that zipper! ;)
