I must say I'm not that excited about the look of the Valhalla. The cars behind it, on the other hand…

You and I have the exact same opinion.

In general I find older cars to look better than modern ones, but even more so with sports cars!

That's the thing. I love GT"s the most. They exude class, elegance, romance and traveling. The real sportscars, allthough sometimes childishly fun (looking at you lamborgini), I find less interesting. Those are too much show-off, not enough actual adventure.
So in the end I'm more of a Peugeot 205 gti fan than Koenigsegg.

The GTI 1.9 is awesome, but for obvious reasons almost impossible to find.

And that unfortunately also can be said about the second generation Honda CRX. We had a Civic with the same 1.6 engine and boy, it was fast enough I can tell you!

Yep, I did look for a 205 but the really good ones are more expensive now than they were new. The CRX I've always found to be an ugly beast, but a fun car for sure. Used to have a golf II myself. Not the gti mind you, but a lot of fun none the less. Traveled all through Europe in it. Simple technology that could get me anywhere.

If you want to know more about the AM's used in the Bondmovies, just go to www.astonmartins.com.

Only one minor "issue": they don't elaborate on the OHMSS DBS...

Yes, if that's right then Eon own one real DB5 prior to B25. I guess that's probably in there being prepared by AM, but I certainly couldn't tell which one it is! :) Possibly one of the two middle ones as they appear to not have rollcages. But they may well all be replicas.

The Valhalla does wrong what Aston Martin has always done right. Stylish and sporty but never vulgar. They used to let that sort of thing to Lamborghini or other ‘look-how-rich-I-am-cars’. This one goes full vulgar though, a pity. Luckily Alfa is still around.

I take it you're not a fan of mid engine cars?

I, for one, find it beautiful. Love those round wheel arches. Very apt for Le Mans, I'd say. Not a pretty road car, mind you. Not a GT, that's for sure. But a beautiful racer.

Well it's their "hypercar" anyway, and they are seldom "beautiful".

I'd say the whole Aston lineup at the moment is vulgar. They seem to have forgotten 'elegant' and plumped instead for 'muscular'. Not really keen on that.
They could do worse than study the old V8 in the Bond 25, which manages to do both.

Oh I still love the DB 11, i find it a stunning car, and far more beautiful and stylish irl than on pictures. The Valhalla I can't care about. Too much formula 1. And though I love the races, the cars themselves I find boring and ugly.
Some classic racers from the sixties were very beautiful, but those days are long gone. And those cars wouldn't misstand on the road either.

Vulgar?!? I'm not one to praise modern cars, as I love the classics more, specially from the 60s. But to call the current AM lineup vulgar is insane. Each model that comes out get praise from the critic. Each looks different and an evolutionary step forwards for the brand. And you find it vulgar? This is vulgar?

I'm the biggest alfista you'll ever know. But this is Alfa Romeo's lineup now.

    2019-AR-Overview-Story-Desktop.jpg

Just a bunch of BMWs painted alfa red with the quadrifoglio badge on them. Now THAT is vulgar, IMO. And to think they were heading in the right direction with the 8C and the 4C.

These were the last Alfas, IMO.

Well yeah: the DB11 is rather lacking in style (have you sat in one? It's kind of horrid in there) and goes for muscular rather than elegance and it's all separate details rather than a beautiful whole, and the Vantage really looks like a Japanese car to my eye: it's plasticky and could be a Nissan GTR. When you see one in black there are almost no distinguishing features at all. And the Superleggera is just horrendous. The new mid-engined ones I'm not offended by but they're sort of just.. there. They exist. They're not trying to be stylish, just fast. Shockingly the new McLaren GT might actually manage to be a more handsome mid-engined car, and that's a McLaren.
The DB10 from Spectre did actually manage to still feel classy, but they've lost that for the current lineup. I don't like them at all.

The 8C you linked to: that's a beautiful car.

And I do get your notes on the AM. They're perfectly valid. Thing is, if you lived through the 70s, 80s and 90s loving AM, you'll probably feel they're in a good phase now, even if they could be doing something very, very special, more special, harkening back to their golden years even more. But hey, I get ya.

Not sure I follow there: even in the 90s, although there was the pretty average V8 and Vantage: brutal but not hugely classy, the DB7 came along and at the time we all knew it was stunning. And it still looks amazing today.

And for people who are against all of the "retro" stuff, take notice that the 911s having been doing just so since 1963. And this is their "new" entry.

So, why wouldn't a shape like the DBAutomotiveLda Fastback work nowadays? I'm all for it.

Nope, never heard of it but those are stunning cars! Says something about the DB4.

I love retro done well, Porsche's just been lazy. As I understand it they're fantastic to drive, but I don't like the design at all. The only one I found slightly interesting is the 911 from the 90's, with the different headlights. The one Porsche purists hate. goes to show at what angle I look at them ;-)

Yes I find that a bit horrid. It's been around a few years: I think I did see one outside the Dorchester once.
