Well, it worked for a little while, and thanks for the effort. The same goes for anybody who does their own totals; it's much appreciated.

I'm absolutely baffled that so many people prefere the cinematography in TND(??!!). I mean, honestly... have we seen the same films?

    The shakycam has few friends.

But that (as of my understanding anyway...) has more to do with editing. Cinematography is about the quality of the frame itself; colour, texture, sharpness etc. In that area there's really no contest.

TND strikes me as distinctly average, while QoS I find underrated.

    PTS: TND
    Title Track: QoS
    Title Credits: QoS
Main Villain: QoS (Both are kind of goofy for villains, but Green seems like he has more of a dark side)
    Main Bond Girl: QoS
Overall Plot: QoS (Controlling a water supply vs. manipulating world events for news stories)
    Dialogue: QoS
    Score: QoS
    Settings: TND
Action: TND (I'm going to give TND the edge because the action scenes were filmed better)
    Humor: QoS
    Cinematography: TND
Benign Bizarre: TND (see "Overall Plot", for starters)
    Suspense: QoS
Minor Characters: QoS (Strawberry Fields, for starters)
    Glamour: QoS
    Ally: QoS

    QoS: 12
    TND: 5

    QoS takes it.

Cinematography is whatever you see on the screen, editing is how rapidly (or not) they switch from shot to shot. Shakycam is part of the cinematography.

Well I'm equally baffled that anybody could vote for AWTD over anything including the sound of cats fornicating (which is what Crow sounds like in TND, BTW).

I like QOS quite a lot, but anyone who thinks it's better than a stone cold pre-21st OTT classic like TND is a senseless Brosnan hating [expletive deleted] [expletive deleted] HATER.

I know Camille isn't that terrific by any means, but Paris and Wai Lin get on my last nerve. I can barely handle either of them- I can at least tolerate Camille!

Yes, but I am allowed to express my "baffledness" the same way you are to express yours. Besides, I would argue that (dis)appreciation of music has more to do with subjective taste, while analysation of the quality of cinematography is more of an objective observation...

I only see one post, so it looks like you're in the clear. Sometimes two posts appear but only one of them goes through. It's odd, but what can you do?

    Second attempt:

    PTS: TND
Title Track: TND (although Surrender is even better!)
    Title Credits: TND
    Main Villain: TND
    Main Bond Girl: TND
    Overall Plot: TND
    Dialogue: TND
Score: TND (don't think Arnold has ever bettered this, although came close with CR)
    Settings: TND
    Action: TND
    Humour: TND
    Cinematography: TND
Benign Bizarre: TND (those Chakra torture implements anyone?)
    Suspense: TND
    Minor Characters: TND
    Glamour: TND
Ally: TND (i'll admit I like Wade - good to see a recurring ally appear played by the same actor).

*Disclaimer: it has been a while since Ive seen QoS but I do find TND sticks in the memory better. Having said that I've almost finished working my way through the Bond50 boxset so due to watch QoS again soon, so my answers may change.

TND succeeds more at being a lightweight piece of entertainment than QoS does at being a heavy drama.

With Bond I feel I should be able to re-watch the film whatever mood I'm in and enjoy it to a degree. In the case of Quantum it feels almost like a bit of a chore at times to get through and I have to be in a certain mood to want to watch it.

Camille is quite good. But she's different. Depressed and tragic almost throughout. Paris was poorly acted and Wai Lin was a plain Jane and a Rambette to boot. To my mind, this is no contest in favor of Camille.
