  • Looks fun. I've long since given up on the cookie-cutter assembly line Marvel films, but I'll check this out.

I liked the trailer more the second time around.

The main things I liked are basically anything from before the 2:10 mark or so. After that, I didn't want or need to see anything else. I hated seeing Lex's plans with Zod and the creation of Doomsday; that's something that should have been saved for the last trailer, if they were going to reveal it at all (wish they never did period). But having it debut in a trailer months upon months before its release? Doesn't make much sense.

However, the important, main stuff is great. I love, love, love Ben's Bruce. In every scene I can see him turning on and off his playboy performance, and at times you can see the anger spill over his eyes, especially in his talk with Clark. His deliveries were spot on. If the haters aren't at least giving him the benefit of the doubt now, they're feigning their distaste. He IS Batman.

I thought Henry was great too; his deliveries were so great and natural, and I loved the dynamic he has with Bruce in and out of the suit. I feel like one of the best and most talked about elements of the entire film will simply be their dynamic and interactions. I especially love it when Superman tells Batman that he'd be dead if he wasn't holding back; as many have said, it's crucial to have that line in there to make it clear what kind of person Superman is and just what Bruce is up against.

I'm still on the fence with Eisenberg, but I think that the annoyance I feel for his Lex will only help to make him a better villain in a strange way; if we already despise him going in there won't be much more we'll need to see to want him stopped. While he falters and pesters in scenes like Bruce and Clark's meeting, others, like his dialogue with Lois are brilliant and well acted; it underscores him as a man with a vision that he feels is absent or underserved in lesser minds, setting him up as an interesting character who will no doubt be outdone by his hubris. I hope they don't completely use up Lex in this and put him behind bars, though; he needs to be a consistent part of the DCCU from this point on, and eventually, president of the US if they decide to go that way with him. We'll see how he works in B v S first, eh?

And yes, the CGI can definitely get way out of control. This is most apparent in the last minute of the trailer, with the Doomsday reveal. What should have been an epic moment in the reveal of the DC Trinity of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman standing alongside each other to face a common threat feels instead like what it actually is: a cheap green screen shot. It sorely pales in comparison to the action shot of the same kind from The Avengers, big time.

I don't either love or hate this aspect, but how do we feel about Batman's modulated voice? I was hoping the mech suit was what was giving him that, but now that we see he's still using it while in his regular suit, I'm unsure how I like it. I want to hear an unmanipulated voice, clear and grisly. I get that it would help Bruce disguise himself while acting as Batman, but I feel we lose something essential with its inclusion.

Still, for me the positives outweigh the negatives. The only concerns I have are the Zod/Doomsday situation. I'd rather have seen Doomsday in a future Superman sequel for an adaptation of The Death of Superman. Now THAT would have been a hell of a ride.

The rumors of one of the Batman solo films being an adaptation of A Death in the Family feel even stronger after this trailer, and I for one would love to see that. The glimpses we keep getting of Jason's death at the hands of the Joker feel like the filmmakers are leading us in the direction of a story featuring that tragic loss for Batman. Having that movie as part of the DCCU line-up would cement why Bruce gave up being Batman long ago, and give us a chance to see a live action Red Hood that would test Batman's rules as a crimefighter, even if this version of the character feels more willing to go farther than other Batmans we've seen. I'm pretty pumped.

This is one of those movies (like Hunger Games) that the mere mention of it makes my arse want a dip of snuff.

I just want to beat it with a tire iron.

I never understood the hate for Superman Returns to tell you the truth. It was a step into the right direction after the damages III and IV brought to the cinematic series.

I am slowly warming up to JE as Luthor. Could be that I am getting used to it.

The trailer is impressive enough, and I can live with Eisenberg as Luthor. It's Gadot's WW I have some concerns with. I don't think she can ever fully win me over (Lynda Carter firmly established her iteration forever in my young hormone raging self) but I'll keep an open mind.

I'm with you. I can get behind everyone in this movie, even Eisenberg, except Gadot. Partly because she hasn't impressed me as an actress before, largely because we haven't seen her do anything in the movie but stand with a shield looking miffed, and indescribably because she isn't Jaime Alexander. Oh, what could have been...

Jaime Alexander should have been Wonder Woman. Having said that, though, I probably am the only one in here who loved Adrianne Palicki's Wonder Woman. A TV Pilot everyone sensationally despises for a reason I'll never grasp.

Wow @Brady. I haven't seen her in anything that I can recall, but she certainly has potential. I must check out Thor The Dark World soon.

She does make appearances in Agents of SHIELD television series. Heavily recommended, @bondjames.

Great, thanks @ClarkDevlin. I'll check that out too. I've been meaning to buy it on blu ray along with Gotham but never got round to it yet. I'm glad I have something to look forward to!

Thankfully, the latest trailer showed me the entire movie, so there's nothing I need to pay to see in theaters.

I think the situation with Jaime is similar to a lot of my dream picks for Justice League characters: Marvel got there first. I'd have loved to see Benedict Cumberbatch be Martian the Manhunter, as he can really bring out that detached, haunted voice that MM needs, but of course we won't even be getting him in the DCCU anyway so that's a big disappointment. He's my favorite JL character behind Batman and John Stewart's Lantern.

And of course, I'm of the opinion that Idris Elba would make the coolest John Stewart Green Lantern anyone has ever seen. Again, nice work, Marvel. You @#$#%$%$^%^%$%&;%&&%....

The latest trailer did nothing for me. The teaser for the trailer was miles more entertaining IMO. I'm still tremendously looking forward to this though.

I thought they'd just release a longer, more extensive clip of that scene for the "trailer," or at least a trailer that showed more than two seconds of footage from it. When that didn't happen, I think we all got confused. It's a shame too, because many wanted more of that scene as opposed to the spoiler-filled trailer we got.

As the Batsuit has been unveiled, I won't use spoilertags, but Hot Toys have released images of the BvS 1/6 Batman figure:

The material they used for Batman's suit doesn't fit the model very well at all and makes him look chubby at times. I bet there'll also be a lot of instances where the material of the suit rips when you try to put it into any ambitious poses.

If it's Latex or some other rubbery material it would most likely dry rot after time.

I think it's the same rubbery-ish material Hot Toys used for their Arkham City Batman. If it is the same, then i've seen complaints about the material bunching at the joints (to the point where collectors have even cut sections out of the suit to stop this). In the last pic in my post, look at Batmans right arm, at the elbow, there's an ugly looking dent. And the more you bend that joint, the worse it'll look. The other option, like the Sideshow Collectibles Batman figures, is a cloth fabric for the suit, but that has it's own problems (such as snagging).

No joke- I got the 2006 original release of ED-209 from Hot Toys, and the black part is rubber. It rotted within the first year and all I ever did was display it!

As for Batfleck, the detail is incredible, but he certainly does have a 'stubbyness' about him. He's a tall guy, and they should probably create a whole new base body for him. Looks like in the pic, they're just using the regular one- the suit looks so good, that I'm sure on a taller body it would be perfect!

Hopefully that's the intention and they aren't planning to release it like in the pics....

    *Edit
The HotToys Batmobile however, looks like it drove right off the set!

Looks so expensive, only the real Bruce Wayne could afford it...

I just hope that Hot Toys remember that the BR Batman was announced 3 years ago, and don't delay it further, for no other reason that to release the BvS Batman first. I'm not suggesting that they rush the BR Batman, but after 3 years since the announcement, it's time to release it.
