This will need confirming but the Sun newspaper in UK is reporting that the title of Bond 24 is DEVIL MAY CARE

    http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/5010783/Bond-is-back-for-movie-No24-Devil-May-Care.html

This was last year's news @PeterGreenhill!

Sam Mendes is currently scouting locations for Bond 24

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2596511/BAZ-BAMIGBOYE-Wow-What-Cabaret-act-Michelle.html

In a side note, Mendes is currently directing a revival of 'Cabaret' in New York with Michelle Williams. I'm desperate for him to cast her in Bond 24.

So I assume Sam is currently in the USA then? Perhaps Bond will appear in America for a part of Bond 24 maybe?

Hope not. Bond in Amercia usually results in quite boring, unmemorable locations IMO.

I hope so.. remember everyone Bond was in America in Goldfinger and briefly in Casino Royale...

Do I dare hope that Bond might be coming back to NYC

As he said, now is when things will really start to get moving. This time, three years ago they were looking into Africa, remember? How time flies.

Right now he is also directing King Lear in London. Where he us working does not mean he'll use this location, extensively or otherwise, for Bond 24.

I love all the speculation. Before we know it people will be speculating on who's playing Blofeld! Oh, hang on that's been done to death already.

I really hope that Bond does not go to America again. The USA is so overexposed in film, the great joy of a Bond film is that you travel to far-flung locations. All the USA centric Bond films I always feel as are slightly bland: DAF, AVTAK and LTK immediately springing to mind.

I love when Bond gets to travel around, for instance despite the film's faults QOS has some amazing locations that I've never seen committed to film before. That is what I want from my Bond film.

Exactly! We share the same point of view!

I would like Bond to return to the U.S. with the proviso that the locations are kept interesting. No New York, or any well-known locations that have been done to death. America has so many more locations. How about a modern reimagining of the novel High Time to Kill, with Bond in the Appalachian mountains this time?

I thought the Rockies were the more extreme. They run all the way down to Chile!

Bond in the US and indeed pretty much anywhere in the Americas just always feels wrong to me for some reason - like it's not his natural habitat. Much better off sticking to Europe, Asia and North Africa - the 'old world'. There's something about the history that goes with the locations in Europe and Asia that suits Bond movies.

There are spectacular mountain ranges all over the world. Not just in the US. Personally I'd like Bond to watch for clues and follow leads in the Himalayas.

I can see a India-Chinese border dispute in the Himalayas being exploited by an evil genius bent on world domination....

Exactly! The Himalayas have never been used as a Bond location before, and the posibilities there are practically endless. Political tension, exotic cultures/cities, and you can have any type of action scene you'd like. If the producers want to return to a more classic, OTT villain scenario (with or without Bolfeld/Quantum) there's several remote valleys and locations there for the bad guys to hide their business.

I've appreciated the locations throughout the Craig era so far, but I do think it's time for something even more exotic this time around. Himalaya fits the bill perfectly IMO.

Nepal any one? Or Sri Lanka...

I'd love to see Bond stalking/being stalked by a villain through the ruins of some ancient city or some big crowd location work in an actual Asian metropolis. One of those classic scenes where Bond gets lost in the whirl of some local festivities, while the henchman search frantically for him amongst the oblivious party-goers. You know the kind of thing...

Interesting. Personally, I'd like to see an older actor play the villain for once - like in the old days. But this could be good.

Not against it if true. We shall see, but interesting rumour it is.

    From the same article:

"Casting has been heating up with the studio also on the lookout for one Scandinavian and one British woman to play the new Bond girls."

Will Bond finally visit a Scandinavian country?

Loved Ejiofor in 12 Years a Slave. Would be very ok with this

    To quote myself:

Meh, he's a good actor, but I'm not that excited about this news. He can be a good villain if the script is good. With Bardem I knew he would be good villain no matter what, he just has that larger-than-life presence.

    Too average looking.

I only approve of Ejiofor if the film is set in Africa or another country of blacks. Having the Mexican Silva in Hong Kong didn't feel right. He should have been on a South American island. It made Skyfall feel like a hodgepodge of random nationalities, locations. No focus. Let's keep a focus.

He was supposed to be from the Azores. I think.

As a Norwegian I can't think of any countrymen who would fit the part of a Bond girl. So if those rumours are true, they will have to look in Sweden or Danmark instead.

Yes, Sweden. Sweden has some very beautiful women and if course we can't forget the Danish Bond last brushed up with. In the, who should be a Bond girl thread I suggested the Swedish actress, Katia Winter.
