    Yes! How exciting is that?
  • if Sam Mendes do return.......it is likely Kevin Spacey 's character will be Blofeld as he was rumored to play him once

I expected a lot of rumors started to happen next year about bond girl, villain, plot, allies, etc.....

How do you put that together? It doesn't work like that.

If he does? I doubt he will be Blofeld! A Quantum villain most likely?

I woudn't want to see him again either. The caracther is dead and buried since 1981. He is a relic from the past which shouldn't be brought up again.

"Bond should always fight Blofeld" - John Logan on various occasions.

Right, Logan likes Blofeld and I'm sure he'll be back in Bond 24. What I can't figure is why so many Bond fans don't want him back! He's a relic is he? What about M, or Moneypenny, or Q, or the DB5? those are all relic's but they got brought back time and time again, as well as in Skyfall! Bond SHOULD always fight Blofeld because he represents Bond's perfect arch-enemy, just like the Joker does to Batman. Bringing Blofeld back in an updated way would be a great thing to do. People say 'oh well Blofeld died back in FYEO and he's all done' but after CR, everything has been re-started, it's as if the other Bond films never happened, and battling Blofeld is an important part of Bond's character development, something which they have been working hard to do in the re-booted series. I can't wait for Blofeld to be back!

As many have said? It's a NEW timeline so lets have NEW villains atleast in the Craig era!
  • If they bring him back they should do it properly, anything too close to Dr. Evil will be a bit cringey. I also feel that in the 3 films he was in fully Blofeld wasn't really fleshed out as well as I'd have liked.

I agree, that's another reason why I feel Blofeld should return in Bond 24, so that the character can receive a proper representation. Because of parodies like Dr. Evil, Blofeld comes off as something comical to our modern eyes, but if he were to be re-introduced in a more serious light, he would get the reputation he deserves, just like what happened with the Joker in TDK. Like Blofeld, the Joker had been seen as too childish and unrealistic because of the way he had been portrayed in the past. All it took to make him realistic was a compelling plot, and a much darker interpretation of the character, which is exactly what I think needs to happen with Blofeld, and if Logan and Mendes are on it, I'm sure that they'll do an excellent job avoiding parody and will deliver a modern and compelling re-imagination of Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

Sure. Principal photography on Bond24 is already underway:

  • I'm really not a fan of story-arc films or movies which are filmed back-to-back, they just don't seem to have the same time or care put into each movie - Like Matrix Revolutions for one example. I'd rather have Bond 24 it's own story and Bond 25 separate.

Anyway, if we DO get Christopher Nolan as the director of Bond 24, I'm sure other than Daniel Craig the cast will be Cillian Murphy, Joseph Gorden Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Christian Bale and Michael Caine ! :-))

Much as I like Hans Zimmer's music, I don't know if I would like a Hans Zimmer Bond OST, because i'm pretty sure Nolan won't let Arnold score it.

No Nolan please. I don't want Bond 24 to be remembered as Nolan's Bond. Or Nolan's trilogy if he does 3 films.
I just want Zimmer, nowadays the best composer with Alberto Iglesias (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy or The Skin I Live In: ) Any of these two would make me happy

Am I experiencing déjà vu, @0iker0, but did you or did you not post exactly the same thing on Bond 24 Wish List?

If Bond 24 is released in 2014, do you think they will start filming around this time next year? - didnt Skyfall begin shooting around November 11th?
  • I do think so, yes. We know that John Logan pitched the idea to the prods this summer, so I guess a treatment for the film and Bond 25 are already done. I'd imagine the focus is currently on perfecting Bond 24's script, which Logan must be working on as we speak.

Of course, the producers might hire a few writers for re-writes, dialogue washes, etc. so that might take the course for around 6 months?

no déjà vus here. I wrote this thinking I was writing it in the other thread, but when I entered the other I couldn't see it, so I thought that it somehow had been deleted and wrote it again there.

Hmmm? Interesting! I am sure i saw or read Craig stating that the pair of them still had alot of other unused ideas which they would like to see happen? Or something along those lines?

    5-directors-who-could-helm-the-next-bond-film

    Forword:
Even by the standards of the second most successful franchise in cinema history, "Skyfall" is doing extraordinarily well. The 23rd James Bond film, which has picked up some of the best reviews in the history of the franchise, has topped off an amazing couple of weeks at the box office with a $90 million opening weekend in the U.S., bringing it to over $500 million worldwide in only 17 days. By next weekend, it will easily have overtaken "Casino Royale" to be the franchise's top worldwide grosser, and could be on course to be the first billion-dollar Bond.

So it's not entirely surprising that Sony and MGM aren't keen to repeat the four-year gap that preceded "Skyfall," already hiring that film's co-writer John Logan to pen both Bond 24 and 25. What isn't so clear is whether director Sam Mendes will be joining him. The addition of Mendes, the first Oscar-winner in the franchise's history, has been credited by many with landing the great reviews and strong word of mouth that have lead to this becoming the biggest Bond ever, and we're sure franchise bosses Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson would be keen for Mendes to return.

But the director's been noncommittal, saying in an interview, "I felt like everything I wanted to do with a Bond movie, I put into this film. So I would have to be convinced that I could do something that I loved and cared about as much if I was to do it again. I think the great risk of repeating oneself is that one doesn't have the great store of ideas that you have when you first tackle a subject." Of course, that's the familiar line taken by many a tentpole director (Joss Whedon said much the same on the release of "The Avengers"). But Mendes is going to be as in-demand as ever, and given that he splits his time between film and theater (his next project is a stage version of "Charlie & The Chocolate Factory"), he may be reluctant to make "Bond 24" his next film.

So assuming Mendes says no (and assuming that the much hoped-for-by-fans thoughts of Christopher Nolan is a long shot -- Nolan said in the summer that "it would have to be the right situation and the right time in their cycle of things"), who else might be a contender to helm? Our best guess is that the days of journeymen helmers like Michael Apted and Roger Spottiswoode are done with. Producers have seen the benefits of bringing in an A-list auteur, and are likely to try and repeat the trick, even if they have to pay out for it. And yet they're going to need to be available relatively soon, with a release in 2015 being loosely targeted. As such, we've picked out 5 names below who could be viable and exciting contenders for the follow up to "Skyfall."

If Logan does find a nice idea how to incorporate Quantum (not Spectre, nit with Blofeld, please), why not? As of Mr White, there is apparenly the mysterious minute from the end of QOS, which Forster decied to cut from the final version, in which apparently Bond kills Mr White, don't know we ever will see this whee tiny scene. And if they bring back Mr White (or maybe having a Mr Blue, Green, Pink, Orange or Brown), he surely will not be played by Jesper Christensen after his comments on CR and QOS (as of QOS I actually agree, bit not on CR)...

Is this a joke? He was misquoted! I'm not posting the links to the articles again. 20+ times was enough.

It's a big site. Maybe he's never read your posts about how he was misquoted.

I think him saying he was misquoted might just be him backpedalling too. Maybe he wanted a job in another one (if only for the money) and when those comments got out he realised he might've f*cked up.

Or maybe just the press spinning what he said, it's hard to tell. I'd like to think he'll be back at some point.

Skyfall is a stand alone adventure?

    Confused .....

Well CR and QOS was a story arc concerning Vesper and Quantum. SF was a stand alone film with a completely different villain. Also at the launch the producers clearly stated that it was a stand alone movie too.

To me, it felt like the final part of a trilogy. The "Starting again" trilogy. CR had bond start from scratch, QoS continued with his rise and now SF has established him as the 007 we remember along side Q and Moneypenny and what not.

That's how it struck me as well.

I want Tim Curry for head of QUANTUM, Blofeld, whatever, he beats every candidate mentioned in my book.
  • Logan/Mendes/Newman for Bond 24 hopefully
