With Skyfall close to coming out and bond 24 coming out in 2 years (a year from now we may know bond 24's title people.)

oh and well lets see they did this for the last 2 bond films so I will beat the sun to the punch

we are making this up we have no idea what the title will be but heck it's friday and let's say bond 24 will be risico...

lol Seriously though they used the same rumor for the last 2 films lol


But all rumors and speculation in here please keep from skyfall spoilers until say January.

    All joking aside, if the wonderful Mr. Cumberbatch is indeed chosen, I say keep his own name for the villain. A Bond adversary named Benedict feels so right.

    Oh, and you can surely add some Quantum speculation that will arise concerning Bond 24/25 down the road.

    OK folks, it had to happen.

    Bond 24 rumours that will inevitably be churned out by the press can all be neatly packaged in @Risico007's thread.

    no problem. And i will laugh when the sun says it will be Risico for real what is their love of that title anyways Fleming has 3 other unused titles guys!

    And i am not familiar with Benedict to be honest. but I think he would do fine I trust certain members opinions on these matters.

    There's no doubt about it. A good few 'rumours' posted here will come true. This could be one damn long thread in a few years. Hopefully, it's not just used as a dumping gound for every piece of news we can't create a topic for.

    Cumberbatch wanted to be Bond didn't he? and interestingly enough, his is the face I sort of see as Bond in the Cart Blanch novel. Ah well, if he does end up being a Bond villain, I'm pretty sure he'd do great.

    Brilliant rumour, hope it's true re: BC. Top top actor. Thought he's make a great Doctor Who actually but could defo see him as Bond villain. If he slicked his hair back I think he could pass resemblance to Joseph Wiseman's Dr NO!

    There will be a story arc that goes from 24 to 25, whatever their called. And I think BOND25 will end with a cliff hanger.

    We... we had the same Bond in Carte Blanche.

    I think Bendict Cumberbatch shouldn't be the meanie. He just doesn't fit the bill when you think of a Bond villain. Give him a few years and let him be Bond after Craig. He might incorporate some Sherlock traits to 007 (Moore did mixed Simon Templar and Bond anyway).

    Anyway, here's a good start for a thread where we're going to have a free-for-all for the next two years until Bond 24.

    Perhaps we should wait to see at how good a villain he can be in the new Star Trek movie first? Before we rule him out for a possible villainous role in Bond?

    Cumberbatch can fight, and looks like he would be one excellent psychological Bond villain.

    Someone hasn't seen Sherlock. I love how just because someone is slender and not built like a monster truck makes them weak. I am sure many people thought Bruce Lee was small and weak too, until they saw him in action.

    Plus, is it really unbelievable to think that someone might work out to beef up for a film role? Give me a break.

    @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, exactly. Anyone can work out for a film role (or lose heavy weight; case in point: Bale for 'The Machinist), so why is it so unheard of for Cumberbatch in 'Bond 24'?

    Someone on this forum said mendes said it in a new interview for empire magazine but i have yet to find it.

    If they are referring to the latest (Oct) edition of Empire there is a quote from Mendes saying he would seriously consider doing another Bond but it does not confirm he IS doing it. The exact quote is, "Mendes, who says he'd "absolutely consider" doing another Bond, confesses to insulating himself against the reaction to the most recent Skyfall trailer...."

    So it is a very positive quote from him but I don't think we can expect any sort of confirmation until Skyfall has been out for a while, I'm thinking around Xmas maybe.

    Interesting. Most instances in the films, it seems to me as though every Bond villain continually pushes Bond to his physical limits, rarely his psychological boundaries. Of course, there is Vesper Lynd from "Casino Royale," whose betrayal and subsequent death devastated OO7, but the few major villains I can think of who actually tormented Bond psychologically were Francisco Scaramanga and Alec Trevelyan. Le Chiffre can be thrown in there as well. Blofeld can be fitted in too, but his methods consisted of some psychological, some physical. Benedict Cumberbatch, though the modern face of Sherlock Holmes, is set to star as the villain in J.J. Abram's anticipated "Star Trek" sequel, "Star Trek Into Darkness." To star so soon thereafter as another major villain (in the Bond franchise, no less) might risk typecasting him as a baddie in films. Personally, I wouldn't mind a purely psychological villain, someone who doesn't want Bond dead until Bond is broken psychologically and mentally. It would be risky, as that film would be quite dark, but Craig has proven himself capable of the Dalton-esque "darker" Bond. If Cumberbatch is really being considered, I would be immensely interested in seeing the role handed to him, whether it's the long-speculated return of Bond's arch nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld, or an entirely new character.
    As far as Sam Mendes returning, I wouldn't mind that one bit, either. Probably shouldn't make this call until after seeing SkyFall, but Mendes seems to know what he's doing and the interviews I've read and watched make me think he's pretty in tune with both classic Bond and the direction he wants the modern films to go in, finding a middle ground between the old and the new for a more timeless OO7 character. And the recurring characters of Mallory, Q, and Eve would make for a great through-line in the series, something to harken back to in the next film without necessarily having to make a full-blown sequel. As much as I've praised and poured laud over Dame Judi Dench's performance as M, I would LOVE to see a male M that strikes those old Connery and Moore chords, and Mallory, from what I've seen, makes for a hard-nosed head-figure reminiscent of Bernard Lee. But if Dench ever left the role, I don't know what I would do. I love her motherly M character and consider her relationship with Bond his most important in the series. If Ralph Fiennes takes over her role, I would most certainly demand at least a few subsequent appearances of Dench in the following films, if nothing more than someone Bond can communicate with outside of the Service.

    I hope the rumor of Christphor Nolan directing Bond 24 is true. He would make such a good Bond movie

    I dont know about Nolan. I'm kind if on the fence with him. I'd rather have Mendes return assuming SF turns out to be as great as it looks. There's something a bit to clinical about Nolan that rubs me the wrong way. I wasn't that impressed by TDKR either.

    I'm not exactly too pleased with all the action and big stunts shown in the skyfall commercials, I want more story, more emotion and character development rather than all this cheesy in your face unrealistic action. I hope the movie is better than these cliche'd commercials

    I like Nolan's films (haven't seen TDKR yet!) but I really hope that Mendes does indeed return...He's a great director and I really think has made something very special with SKYFALL...

    Commercials are commercials. You cannot expect that a film with over 2 hours can be resumed by what you see in a watch commercial or even a trailer!
