My controversial opinion: MR is one of the most competently made Bond films.

I can imagine the Bond series without Moore. It's actually quite easy. I look at it this way: Bond stopped in the sixties, took the seventies off, and returned in the late eighties. He then stopped again after TND, took off the remainder of the nineties and early 2000s, then returned in 2006.

What kind of mosquito has bitten you ? Sir Rog is the ultimate James Bond. Without him 007 would be nothing.

Not controversial, but common sense ! MR is an outstanding film.

Just because I've been suffering with Bird Flu for the past twelve years does not mean you have the right to mock me about my opinion!

Why would anyone want to cut out the best pieces? That would be sheer stupidity, wouldn´t it?

Yes, it would be stupid to cut out the best pieces. Of course, those best pieces are

    1973-1985
    1995-2002

Especially 73-85 is awesome. All those movies are in my top 10.
All the Brosnan movies are in my top 12.

No no, that is controversial to say the least, DC. Most people don't seem to like MR all that much or at least blame it for having a troubled script and some poorly executed scenes. You like it - I like it, but that doesn't lift it to the level of fact that MR is a great film.

Sorry if I offended you, but I must tell you that criticizing the great Sir Roger Moore will bring you it's share of consequences.

A Bond series without Moore is an easy thing to picture. Bond doesn't even need to take the 1970's off. Just cast an actor with the ability to be charming, without loosing the tougher side of Bond (hence no Moore), and we're good to go.

Moore had the tougher side of Bond also. Just watch TMWTGG, FYEO, OP and AVTAK and see for yourself. The scene where Bond punches Anders for information is hardly lighthearted.

Sorry but you are out of your mind !!!!! Sir Rog is much tougher than Liam Neeson ! Just look at his epic kick in the head in TMWTGG ! He is the most charming person the world has ever seen !! And he is an excellent actor, with a wide range of emotions and a wide palet of talent.

Perfection has been walking the earth since October 14 1927... in the person of Sir Roger Moore !!!!!

I have often said, I love Moore Bond, but this is surely taking it a BIT far. All of it is...except the most charming person - that he is.

You are aware I was lying about the Bird Flu thing. I don't think somebody can live twelve years with Bird Flu.

I was however attacked by a woodpecker once, because I was leaning on its tree.

And, I've learned to live with the consequences of my actions, because they always bear greater fruit than cause me harm.

All right folks. Time for debating 101. Everyone can have their opinion. Once stated, everyone else can reply, preferably with arguments rather than with "you're an idiot, everyone knows X is better than Y" bogus. Also, one or two more or less similar comments is more than enough! The forum has been seeing a lot of the same statements in various threads recently. Let's reduce the sarcasm, and let's remember please that facts and opinions don't match.

I've been appreciating Moore since before you were born, good sir. I also appreciate the other guys. In my opinion - a phrase that some here need to get reacquainted with - Connery, Dalton and Craig are far better Bonds and actually, Roger himself agrees with that as he has frequently stated in interviews, some of which were very serious.

I'm seeing a lot of threads wasted on spam, induced by opinions sarcastically stated as fact, the type of posts that effectively end good debate and invite silly and pointless comments, right before the thread dies a sad and untimely death.

We have been here before, gents. Warnings were issued then. Members were banned. I'd hate to see us return to that dreadful phase. So let's drop the playground rules of debating and return to the adult version, please.

No ! Sir Rog utterly succeeds... and as you are blown into the earth's orbit, he enjoys a good glass of wine. Just look at at that ultimate bad-assed gentleman !!

As for @Dimi, I fully understand your post and will jump right back into on-topic posts !

It's fine, but like him I'd like to participate in some intelligent discussion without the worry of hijinks or people acting like Big Brother and shoving their favorite Bond actor down each others pipes in an effort to recruit them. It's mere child's play.

I understand, but I think we're all guilty of that. It's very easy to try and shove your favorite or least favorite Bond actor down other's throat.... the Bond franchise is so diverse, there are so many different opinions that there's bound to be sparks between members... but I hope at the end of day all is well, and we are all friends. So I'll watch the way I write from now on.

Do you think that he will warn me because I keep saying that Moore is the best? I´m new, so I´m not sure about the boundaries.

Ok. We can atleast try. Most people have likely gotten the point by now.

Having you been blindly typing the past few posts?? It has been a back and forth Moore is better-Connery is better spat with several inappropriate comments made amongst select members, along with pictures that only add to the horseplay. I can see @Dimi's frustration, and I am almost sure no decent conversation will come out of this v.s. thread, nonetheless any of the others.

Its just, that you and Moore seem to be stamping with their feet more then others...hence the child play remark. And Why do I still - very much - have the feeling, you guys are NOT serious but downright dedicated to push all our buttons - over and over and - it works, which then is our fault. It needs two...

B TW Moore - how is 383 posts new?

I haven´t even been here for a month. Compared to the fact that I´ve been a member of the swedish Casino Royale forum for 5 years, it feels like a very short time.
