No, that is Craig. There were many photos of him taken during the filming of that scene a couple of weeks ago.

It is? Wow, but when the camera gets closer, his face is very strange so i thought it wasn't him.

I read this yesterday but icannot see this as being fact? Yes we all know the DB5 is being used, but only as transport, nobody can confirm at the minute if gadgets had been used? Treat that part of the article for now as creative bull****!

Well you read it & it true he not getting a Aston Martin in Skyfall or any other Brand either from Europe, Japan or America. You read the articleBond in British Vehicles Can't be Lotus although some us like to see him drive a Lotus again soon. It got to be Jaguar. With the release in 26 October 2012 this year. I won't be surprised that Bond does get a company car for his mission in Skyfall. That will be disappointing for all of us. Now Q is back he should issue him a new company car. Eon don't disappoint us. & just be glad the Aston Martin classic DB5 is it.

Q or no Q, classic gadget master or just the bloke who deals with the current tech for SIS, Bond has his DB5 and the Firm has their Jaguars and Land Rovers. We don't need a weapon of a car to make a good Bond film.

The DB5 in GF contained a few other goodies that we didn't get to see on film, such as:

    * Front and rear extending over-rider rams;
    * A radio telephone concealed in secret door compartment;
    * Triple spiked nails inside the offside rear light; and
    * An armaments drawer under the front driver seat

Obviously, the radio telephone is unnecessary, but there could be something else hidden in the door. Personally, I'd like to see Bond being chased while protecting M, and Bond pulling a whopping huge hand cannon from the drawer under his seat to M's surprise and/or dropping a few spiky nails behind him to give us a nice crash stunt for the tailing baddie. I know a lot of people don't care to see gadgets in Bond films nowadays, but if done right, the 'fully loaded' DB5 could work.

Agreed. Done right and done sparingly, a few tricks and gadgets in the car would be brilliant.

If it was too happen? I would welcome it as long as its done realistically as already mentioned. It could be quite humerous with M pulling stuff out, disbelieving what the car contains? As Dench is good at humour, and Craig's dry wit would make for a great sequence whilst being persued?

That Classic Aston Martin is only his off Duty car. I just don't want him to use in company out gadgets. You know what to the new Aston in the previous 2 Bond movies. You lot don't what you writing. I don't if not an new Aston Just his new Mi6 car needs Bullet proof protection. Q will be returning @agent 005 will be play Ben Whishaw.

Of course, but it can still have gadgets, and Bond can still drive it on duty IF he has no alternative.

Really? Personally I'm not sure, given Bonds age in the current film and the contemporary setting its a little puzzling that they've brought the DB5 back at all, unless he smuggled home the car he won in Casino Royale and then it mysteriously was given 60's number plates and a conversion to right hand drive!!!

I've read elsewhere the debates on timelines etc. As far as I'm concerned each actor gets his own timeline. Using the DB5 in Casino Royale was cool and clever, they may tie it in well for this movie too, we will have to wait and see. However I don't believe Q branch would waste time adding gadgets to an almost 50 year old car. Thankfully the car that arrives in Scotland looks standard and unscratched, so I think it is just a means of transport and won't be in a chase sequence.

Perhaps if it is Bonds personal car abandoned in a lock up for years, he won't have changed the oil or serviced it properly? So it might produce a very effective smoke screen like in Goldfinger.....

And an oil slick from the leaking gearbox? Well at least it's realistic!

I renew my comments. Forget a new Aston Martin. He will be driving besides the Classic
Aston Martin DB5. It going to be Range Rover Evoque. May not be his company car but a rented or villain he normally steals. But this Range Rover in definetlye going to be in it with the wheels behind 007. That all got say. & mind I'm disappointed if the Mi6 don't issue him a company car. I accept the cars in it. I just be glad the Daniel Craig has come as Bond.

I think we can rule out the Jaguar 2 seater I thought might be in the film. The suggestion at todays Geneva motorshow was that it could be some time before that car is launched sadly.

I wonder what the vehicle action in China will be? I still think either an XF or Evoque must be the most likely options, and there is a car which could be an XF in the foreground of the pictures when they were filming outside that office block in London (which was apparently doubling for Shanghai). Its difficult to tell with the bright lights they use to illuminate the set.

Can't wait for this....Aston Martin DB5 Back for James Bond’s Skyfall
The iconic Aston Martin DB5 first appeared – complete with machine guns, revolving license plate, ejector seat and chariot-style slicing wheel knockoffs – in 1964′s Goldfinger, and has since returned to reprise the role in Thunderball, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies and most recently in Casino Royale. Now comes reports that the vintage beauty has been spotted on set of the latest Bond film, Skyfall. While this isn’t the car’s first rodeo, keen-eyed observers suggest that this will be the first time that the vehicle will be in full battle regalia during a chase scene. Stay tuned for more details.

    *Potential Aston Martin spoilers warning*

...BOND BACK BEHIND THE WHEEL OF AN ASTON MARTIN IN SKYFALL - "British spy James Bond is set to jump back behind...

British spy James Bond is set to jump back behind the wheel of an Aston Martin for the upcoming 007 movie, Skyfall, due in cinemas in November.

The iconic British sports car brand confirmed to Fairfax Australia that Bond will again drive an Aston Martin, as he has in most of the 22 Bond films to date.

Already British media have spotted the world's most famous spy behind the wheel of the legendary Aston Martin DB5 - first used by Sean Connery as Bond in Goldfinger from 1964 - but it appears he could also drive a newer version of the British supercar.

The DB5 was also used in Casino Royale, but it was initially driven by the baddie (and, later, 007) and didn't take part in any stunts, so wasn't fitted with any weapons or spy gadgets.

Speaking at the Geneva motor show, design boss Marek Reichman confirmed that Bond would be back behind the wheel of an Aston Martin: "yep, there will be an Aston Martin [in Skyfall]".

Which one? Reichman wasn't going into details.

Neither was Aston Martin boss Ulrich Bez.

"I only read the magazines and they say the DB5 will be there," said Bez. "The DB5 is there which is great ... the brand is there."

But will there be a new Aston Martin in Skyfall?

"Definitely not in the film," said Bez with a smile, before leaving the door open by saying "I would not know..."

But it appears likely there may indeed be a new Aston Martin in Skyfall, with Reichman confirming a car will be suitably prepared for Bond.

"I can't say," he said when asked what Aston Martin would be used.

But he did hint it would be given the Q treatment.

"Well it's James Bond, so he needs stuff to do his work!"

While 007 typically drove Bentleys in the original Ian Flemming novels, he has long been associated with Aston Martins in the blockbuster movies.

Aston Martin claims it has never paid to be featured in the films - as other brands such as BMW have previously - instead getting heavily involved in building special stunt cars.

"It's a gentlemanly relationship, it's not a monetary thing," said Reichman. "They don't charge us and we don't charge them."

He said it was a great way to showcase the brand.

"I can't think of a better advert. It's really important [for Aston Martin] - it's a great marriage between two brands."

And it seems Aston won't be the only traditional British brand on show in the film. Craig has also been spotted filming in a Range Rover.

Don't know about this its very vague, and seems to go against everything we have heard so far, and why would Mr Bez say "definitely not in the film" if something has been provided????

Yes, my initial reaction was to just treat it all as speculation.

If Aston never paid to appear in the films, I don't understand why they're not supplying a new car for this movie. I had assumed that Ford must have paid to have the Aston replace BMW.

I'm a bit tired of the DB5 personally. I'd be happy to see Bond in another British sports car - perhaps a Lotus, although they're a bit flash. Just had a look at the Lotus site and the Eterne http://www.lotuscars.com/ca/our-cars/future-range/eterne looks the part. Or possibly a Bristol Fighter - retro but new http://www.bristolcars.co.uk/fighter.html.

I never want to see Bond in a four door super car, thank you ;)

And the Bristol looks too much like a 90's Aston, imo. Not a modern look what so ever.

I'm all for Aston Martin, I just don't want to see him in the Zagato. It's got too much of that sharp line detail for Bond, plus it suffers from that nice-from-the-front, ugly-from-the-back syndrome that a lot of cars have. That Bristol looks alright. I could see Bond in that briefly, but with the Lotus- it looks a bit too sleek for Bond. I'd rather have him back in the DBS from CR/QoS. That was a beautiful car.

There's so many reprints of old news articles all the time, it is difficult to keep track at times. No one person can remember everything!

What you wrote is true. Range Rover Evoque will be the actual car. With or no gadgets but there no such saying official or unofficial Bond car. Car is a car. Don't forget when Bond drove the Sunbeam in DR. No,Lincoln in Thunderball, Ford Mustang in Diamond are Forever, AMC Hornet in TMWTGG & Lincoln in LTK & 2 Audi in The TLD including the Fords in the previous Daniel Craig Bond movies, Which were all just cars he rented & kinds. But it may not be Mi6 issue but Daniel Craig will drive it of some kind.
