Why is NSNA “hate filled”? Because it was a rival Bond film?
Yep. You see, a lot of members here are awfully biased.

No,because it was made by McClory and starring Connery, who both hated EON and wanted to damage the official series by beating off OP in direct competition.

EON brought Moore back and NSNA lost....justice was served.

I’m sure they wanted to have a successful movie to rival EON.

Successful yes, but every time I watch it, it never feels like I'm watching a Bond film

    Thanks Bazza.

You are not trying to put words in my mouth are you @ClarkDevlin, old boy? As that would be most unbecoming of you.

Rival film or not, I would still like NSNA, if it was any good. But it's not. It commits the only cardinal sin a Bond picture can - being rather boring. As it is, NSNA stands as the most expensive middle finger in film.

    TLD
    OP

Cold War espionage with great atmosphere and stunt work in both cases. Clear winners.

Agreed. Also both feature John Barry music, great PTS teasers that get their respective films started on the right foot, a rogue Soviet general, and a Bond/leading lady couple with believable chemistry.

OP. Despite its’ many flaws, the chemistry between Moore and Maud Adams sells it for me.

Agreed. I think the fact that we had seen them together previously in TMWTGG helped even though she played a different character in the 1974 film.

TND over QOS. My number 1 vs my number 25. A fun ride over a poorly edited slog.

    SF over NSNA. Surprisingly close.

    Same here, pal.

Craig s second easily beats Brosnan s second.

Craig s worn-out Bond also easily beats Connery s worn-out Bond.

TND vs QOS - TND has been one of my favourites since 1997, while QOS is my least favourite official Bond films.

    and

NSNA vs SF - SF isn't one of my favourite Bond films but I despise NSNA.
