Not a film, but just put in an order for Man in a Suitcase: The Complete Series Blu-ray, by Network Distributing.

A month ago I had preordered the upcoming Featuring The Baron, featuring two restored movies from two-part stories of The Baron TV series. I was looking forward to seeing these restored TV movies from Network, but this evening I got an email saying my payment had been refunded. Looking up Network, it looks like they are reportedly going into liquidation – which obviously is a big blow for anyone interested in 60's British television (and more).

One would assume that past Network titles will eventually be hard to get, so I had to make sure to get my hands on one of several titles I would like to have in my collection.

It's official, I have now all the musicals of Fred Astaire :

Now, all that remains is to find and buy the last five mising non-musical movies that are missing from my collection. But I guess I'll have to wait a bit longer for that, given that my next vacations are coming soon, and they will not be cheap.

Cool. Love that beginning with the Queen Princes of the Universe song, and of course, Connery's narration.

Brilliant soundtrack, the 4K restoration is good better than the Bluray I have though still full of deep grain in some scenes. I am a big Queen fan, A Kind of Magic which has the Highlanderr tracks on is good, Princes of the Universe is one of there best.

I already have the Criterion Blu-ray of Princess Bride, but the 4K upgrade is a no-brainer.

Arrow Video will also release another version featuring the classic theatrical artwork, but this new one is nicer imo.

Which 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' is it?
I take it, like myself, you purchased 'Lifeforce' for the spectacular delights of Mathilda May, and not the dodgy Sci-fi horror? 😜

lol Lifeforce does have many plus points though honestly I think its a great film, its an absolutely crazy movie. On Arrow its the 1978 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers that I have though i have the original also on DVD both great films, I did not like the later remakes though i should give the DC version another go i have that on DVD also.

Yeh I agree with you, both of the original movies are terrific, Donald Sutherlands final scene still freaks me out!!

I have rethought my entire movie collection recently and decided I just have way too many movies - including ones that I still like very much - lying around that will never get watched again. It's just not worth having them to have them - I want to have less, but still what I want the most. Going to sell a ton of DVDs in the near future and hopefully make a decent return on them. The new plan is quality over quantity: I'm starting a 4K / Blu-Ray collection, and only buying my favorites that I absolutely know I'll be watching again and justify the cost to me. Here is my personal starter pack, thanks to the Amazon Prime Day Deals:

    71pXqXycQjL._SL1500_.jpg

    71QTte23xCL._SL1500_.jpg

    811pZvPNKKL._SL1500_.jpg

    71v9tpkSnOL._SL1500_.jpg

    911Vq15gIXL._SL1500_.jpg

    A1hcDeuzTkL._SL1500_.jpg

    91FeiP7gFvL._SL1500_.jpg

    71zb+BWIL+L._SL1500_.jpg

    71toG3to9FS._SL1500_.jpg

I'm also kind of hoping 4K is the final physical format for movies, as one of the main reasons I've held on to and mostly only bought DVDs before is that there are always new upgrades. I also upgraded my Samurai Jack (one of my all-time favorite shows) to Blu-Ray:

    91ynW2YwxIL._SL1500_.jpg

    Time to start saving again!!!

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, @FoxRox! I have to sort through my collection, I do too much impulse buying, films I remember seeing ages ago, and thinking they're good ( Latest is Michael Crichtons sci-fi 'Runaway', which is probably crap now!) I've upgraded to 4k, films I know I am going to watch again and again, like 'The Thing', 'First Blood' and I've just bought 'Blade Runner' ! 'Apocalypse Now' which you show there is next on my list!
