This film starts a new tradition of including a torture scene for Bond, and I find this one wonderful.
I'd much rather be tortured by Elektra or Scorpion Girl than Le Chiffre (or Waltz's Blofeld.).
Pierce is great in this scene.
    One....last...screw....

I'm liking the submarine climax this time.
Bond's effed up shoulder really does seem to bother him throughout this film.
If I were to nitpick anything here....I don't think Bond should have ditched his jacket.
He'd look pretty cool in these scenes with his suit soaked. Similar to the scene on the island in DAD, except this suit wouldn't have shrunk.

I did end up seeing this one with a large group the night after opening night.
I have fond memories of that screening as well.
I don't really care to hear the Bond theme played during closing credits. I much prefer a reprise of the title track.
I suppose ONLY MYSELF TO BLAME might have been too melancholy to end the film on.
I do like that song, though.

They missed a trick by not includibg that song.

When I was a kid I thought Barry missed a huge opportunity by not having the drum machine beat during the Gunbarrel's Bond theme.
As an adult I'm glad he didn't opt for that.
Not that it's of any real importance, but stylistically it would've tied the score together a bit more. However, I think giving such a short rendition of the Bond theme that strong a beat, only to segue moments later into that sustained string chord that understandably lacks any beat whatsoever, would have been awkward.

Bond and Elektra in bed getting down. Sensitive Pierce listens to Elektra's sad kidnapping story. Connery would have none of this .....actually I could picture the Connery of NSNA in this scene.
Great observation, this is definitely more Pierce's territory than Sean's.

I like when Bond snaps his fingers in Elektra's face when calling her on her B.S.
Bringing up all the cool little moments here!

Brosnan always looks like the coolest guy in the room.
I like his shorter hair in this one. He has a very classic look. His suits are amazing as well.
    I agree with all that.

I'm not a big fan of the song, but I'm inclined to give it a listen now. I do love the instrumental version of it that we hear throughout the score (especially in Elektra's Theme). Really, I think what I don't like is Scott Walker's voice; it sounds a little strained to me (not saying it necessarily was, it just sounds that way to me). Maybe it'll grow on me, it's been a while since I listened to this!

I absolutely love the Bond theme version they did for the end credits, both the film version and the album version!

    CASINO ROYALE

Damn I love the crane fight sequence followed by Bond shooting and beating up everyone at the Embassy. Great stuff.
I maintain the firm belief that had Eon backed out of the reboot idea and cast Pierce here, this would have been the pre-title sequence.
Pierce probably would have done this entire sequence in a beige suit.

Mads is one of my all time favorite villains. He's great. I'd love to see him play Dracula.

M is in a foul mood.
I love Bond breaking into her flat.

Bond driving in the Bahamas is another shot I love. Craig looks cool as ever here.

It's pretty funny when Bond crashes the Range Rover.

Solange on that beautiful horse. Those smiling kids running behind her are probably out of college by now.
They'll be Sir Roger's age in A VIEW TO A KILL when we finally get to see NO TIME TO DIE.

Already this Bond is back up towards the top of my rankings, which I'm over due to post.
I was posting a new ranking here every couple weeks. Or was it days?
    Solange is amazing.

Solange and Bond stare at each other for several awkward seconds before she agrees to join him for a drink. Had this been Connery she would have already been waiting for him in his hotel suite. This, however is Bond before he became Bond so he must put in a little effort.

Bond wears a black leather jacket in Miami during the month of July.
I once worked for a convention center that had a Bodyworks exhibit back in '06.
It was a good excuse to bring up the Bond film in conversation.

I do miss David Arnold scoring the Bonds. His music for this film is among my favorites.
I never did buy the soundtrack. I was too disappointed YKMN wasn't included. I was outright pissed, actually.

The airport action sequence makes me think of DIE HARD 2.
Craig certainly gets banged around here.

    I love the Mendel scene.
This is one Bond film I've lost count on how many times I saw it in the cinema.
I had a friend who immediately loved this film more than any of the other Bonds.
There were several times he'd call on a whim and suggest catching the next showing of CR.
This film certainly was refreshing after DAD and the 2nd longest gap in the series (until then).

The gadgets are subtle, but pretty cool. Bond finding which floor Le Chiffre is on before the stairwell fight I always liked.

The Vesper death scene kind of got me choked up a little.
Great Bond film and a great viewing. Definitely earns it's reputation as one of the best films of the series.

I actually prefer the shot where Bond gets off the plane in the Bahamas. So cool, they used it in that awesome first trailer!

I too miss the music of David Arnold @ToTheRight, The Bahamas driving, is great
as it made the Ford Mondeo look cool ;) CR and OHMSS are at the top of my
    Bond movie list.

    Now I'm watching

    SKYFALL.

I might actually end up ranking this even higher than CR in spite of it's shortcomings.

Craig looks extremely cool with the scorpion on his arm. Great scene.
John Barry had a nice flat. I think Michael Caine should have made a cameo in this M scene. That would have been funny,

Bond looks like Hell in this scene, though but he's intended to.
I'm digging the sh*t out of his haircut here, though. In some scenes the short military cut looks great on him.

The new digs where Bond re-trains reminds me of Q branch in NSNA.
This movie, in fact reminds me of NSNA.

Bond doesn't like to be reminded of his childhood home.
Out in the middle of nowhere, probably hard to make friends when you're a wee lad.
Wait, of course!! He had Waltz's Blofeld as his best buddy. We'll find that out next time.

If Bond had time to put on a suit to meet M and Mallory, why did he not take the time to shave?
That said, I'm thinking Craig has looked better with each entry. He looks great in what little we've seen of NTTD.

I went into a barbershop yesterday with my trusty picture of Roger Moore in
LIVE AND LET DIE, and walked out with the Craig in SKYFALL haircut.

I wonder if we'll ever get a Blu-ray, DVD or 4K release of this film that includes the IMAX aspect ratio? That would be great.

I love the bit of Bond dangling from the elevator. Great scene.

I actually like the casino fight sequence. Craig's getting his ass kicked here. The CGI doesn't even bother me.

Bond smoothly slips into the shower with Severine. I wonder what would have happened had Roger tried that while Andrea was in the shower in GOLDEN GUN?
