I know I called Battlefield Earth the worst movie ever before, but that was before I tried watching Baise-Moi.

Really? I found it surprisingly funny when I saw it. Maybe that was a too easy task, since my expectations were quite low but still ... worst film ever? No way!

@Walec, I think a lot of film fans just call those kinds of movies "Oscar bait." ;)

Which of the two are you talking about? I hope not Baise-Moi.

Incredibly bad film. It was terrible to begin with, but I caught a bit of it recently and it's aged appallingly (if that's possible).

I love superhero movies, but Supergirl 1984 has to be up there as one of the dumbest ones.

Nowadays, it may have some stupid leave-brain-at-the-door charm, but if I had seen that in the theater, in a time when the Reeve movies were still being made, I would have been pissed!

I was surprised to learn that the doofy love interest was actually the bearded yuppie from Die Hard.

I always laugh near the end when Supergirl shouts "I can't" and Zoltar responds from beyond, "You can." and suddenly that's all the coaching she needed, lol

I started watching R.I.P.D. some days ago, but turned it off rather quickly.

By a few different genres here are some stinkers.

My worst comedy is Wedding Crashers because after an hour or so I realised I hadn't identified even one half decent joke. It wouldn't be fair at this stage of evolution to pick on Abbott & Costello Go To Mars, despite it being pretty rubbish.

Action film A Good Day To Die Hard. Utterly incompetent, offensive, senseless, you name it.

Musical - well Pierce nearly dragged Mama Mia into 'worst' place, and I really want to give it to Grease because people like it so much and it isn't that good, but I'll give it to Moulin Rouge. Chaotic, over powering nonsense with Ewen MacGregor doing that shouty singing. Just as well Nicole Kidman looks so damned gorgeous.

Seen a few terrible, low budget horror films (thanks to my daughter) so it's a hard category to pick an absolute worst.

Saw this trailer yesterday for the first time. True it's yet to come out, but just based on the trailer and the idea behind it, its looks to be a truly bad film.

Talk about creatively raping a character.

To be fair, it's a kids' film meant for that audience. How many kids' films do you see that make you want to race out and see them? These kinds of films aren't made for adults, they're made for the adults to take their little kids out to see.

That trailer may not move most people to see it that are above the age of 15, but the same could be said for the Minions films or anything with an animated dog or cat in it.

I think it's a nationality thing. As a Brit, Beatrix Potter is part of our culture and national heritage - probably in a similar way Dr. Seuss is with you Americans.

I don't think we view it that dramatically, at least I don't. My whole point was just that movies are made for certain audiences, and that will impact our reaction to them.

Hmmh. Worst movie of all time?

I'm gonna go with A Good Day to Die Hard. I can't say anything good about this one at all. I wouldn't hesitate to include the original Die Hard in my top five favorite films. I even liked Live Free or Die Hard because there were still moments where you could see McClane's character shining through. His monologue about what being a hero has done to him and his family is great, and it paints a picture of him becoming lonely and cynical because of it.

Ehh, but the fifth takes the most outrageous moments in the previous four and amplifies them tenfold. Willis is playing himself, there's no memorable dialogue, the villains are unmemorable and the quicker this one can be forgotten the better. I don't think I've ever been more disappointed leaving a theatre on opening night than here.

AGDTDH is easily the worst in the series, but I'd lie if I said it had nothing on offer: that initial car chase through Russia is so damn impressive and entertaining to me, especially the "finale" of it.

Exactly. For all of that film's faults it still feels like Willis is playing an older version of McClane. In AGDTDH he could be anyone.

As for the opening chase, yes it was big in scale but the frantic editing sucks out the excitement. It feels like yet another chase imo.

@Creasy47, I just finished reading the book The Disaster Artist (and OMG, what a surreal tale); the film came to TIFF and got rave reviews!! Can’t wait to see it!

That's awesome! Hell, I may have to double bill it with The Room, could end up being pretty entertaining.

I agree with you. However one good thing I will say about the film is its title. I don't know why but I love it. A Good Day to Die Hard is probably my favorite title out of the whole series. To clarify, the title itself... not the actual movie.

It would be a good title for a porn parody based off the Die Hard series, but I'm not sure about it as a serious title.

But the films are naturally in danger of being ridiculed for their titles...
