It was miles and miles better than the American remake, though.

Last Salute To The Commodore throws the usual formula out the window.
Forgotten Lady the ending is unique.
Columbo Goes To The Guillotine, Columbo himself discovers the murder victim

Krest's head exploding. It's the only scene in a Bond movie that has me looking away.

I actually hate that actor. Something similar happens to his head in Star Trek Insurrection which is also quite disgusting.
Obviously working with Anthony Zerbe makes the directors wanna do stuff to his head :))

Anthony Zerbe also loses his head to a guillotine as Max Dyson in Columbo: Columbo Goes to the Guillotine (1989), the first of the newer Columbo episodes on ABC.

A couple of years ago I watched every COLUMBO episode/film in order. I grew up with it. One of the best shows of all time. It was part of NBC MYSTERY THEATRE in the '60s and '70s.

Yes, I'm a very big fan too and I actually consider it the best TV show of all time. I have all of the episodes on DVD and watch them all quite often although it takes a good while to watch through all 69 episodes of the show (1968-2003). Highly recommended.

What to you consider to be the oddest episode? I want to see if we are in agreement.

Yes, I'd consider Last Salute to the Commodore the oddest of the original 45 as it's a genuine mystery and is mostly played for laughs. Of the newer episodes No Time to Die and Undercover are unusual as they are both based on Ed McBain novels. A Bird in the Hand is unusual as it's a mystery episode too, just like Undercover. For me the worst episode is definitely Murder in Malibu which is just woefully bad to the point of not making any sense at all!

I meant to add that I have already created a Columbo thread here on our community if members here want to discuss the series further there:

"We gave her a nice honeymoooon" always makes me shudder a bit... If shuddering counts as being squeamish?

The only scene that gets me is when 007 bleeds the guy out in QOS.

I think that's a great example, certainly counts.
Just the line itself, and the ways it's delivered, give shivers.

Yes, that seems to be a recurring scene in this thread that people (myself included) find very difficult to watch.

A sister thread of this topic on 'the other' site just had a big to-do. A fierce discussion over being squeamish reactions to the 'rape' scene in Goldfinger-!!!! :-O
Bond has slapped & choked women, but rape? Gentle coercion towards women that wanted him anyway, sure... 8-|

It is fun to read some of the more angry responses. I agree with

Are you kidding me? It's the one redeeming factor of the movie.

It's not always easy to tell on the Internet, but this is a joke, right? I mean, please, tell me it is...

I always wince when Freelance breaks the flashbulb and drags it across Quarrel's face in Dr No.

    Looks very painful!
