Agreed about Nolan. He's way too wrong for Bond.

Once we get a look at "Baby Driver", should Edgar Wright be considered a serious option?

Wright and Joe Cornish would handle the script.

    Top picks...

    Brad Bird
    Martin Campbell
    Denis Villeneuve
    Susanne Bier
    Gareth Edwards
    Kathryn Bigelow

Any of those I believe could deliver a Bond film. I think Brad Bird would be a great choice. The Incredibles suggests strongly that he is a Bond fan. Back this up with his live action debut, Mission Impossible : Ghost Protocol, and he clearly likes the spy genre. I think he'd deliver the goods.

Why do we need old blood as you put it?

I mean come on we've seen campbells two bond films Goldeneye and casino Royale both of which are awesome so even though he has stated as being relucnant to return I think that would be really good if they could get him on board he may only come to launch the next actor though

Bullshit, We can't keep acting like Campbell is the only one who can direct Bond!

Not sure why you repeated it three times? I assume you mean "who else can mend it?" ?

Technical error. Happened with me earlier today. The 'quote' button would take effect until a minute later or two. Sometimes, it won't even post a comment because the auto-save system is the nuisance causing trouble.

Two very different choices - I would like to see what Edgar Wright or Kathryn Bigelow could do.

Oh sorry I meant mendes it keeps correcting for me to mended
  • I think Guy Ritchie would go alright.

Anyone re-watch Snatch recently? Surprisingly it just gets better and better with age. Hard, tense, ridiculous, funny, gritty.

Also, the Man from Uncle may have been a fizzer, but I put that down to poor script and bland male leads. Ritchie's direction is elegant and sophisticated

He would know bond inside out, he's good with actors (look what he did with the limited brad Pitt), he can do style and he can do action.

Anyone doubting the action chops just needs to watch the final boxing scene from Snatch.

    GR is ready IMO

I personally think Lock, Stock is a superior film to Snatch, and I'm also a determined defender of UNCLE, which was a spectacular spy caper. However, I don't think Ritchie would be suitable for Bond at all. His style isn't versatile. Just like Tarantino having his way, and Nolan his own, Ritchie will stick to his style that might alienate Bond from his own trademark and identification.

Would love to see Tarantino make a spy film. With all his genre work, I really hope he does a take on the spy genre as well – maybe not Bond, but still.

If it's Martin Campbell circa GE sensibilities, then absolutely bring him back. If it's the Martin Campbell that gave us CR, then I'd rather not.

I have the completely opposite view.

If the directorial style and the atmosphere of the film returns to the TND spirit, I'm 100% on board.

Michael Apted should come back The world is not enough is the strongest of the Brosnan era in my opinion and he is making a come back with unlocked

As a side bar Michael Douglas as a villain or ally in a future bond film come on we all want that
