I think it's already been confirmed that "Skyfall" will have a tie-in game.
Not yet but I think we can all set it happening. We'll hear something next Summer about a new game going by the past few years.

Look, they need to pony up and give Bond the uncharted treatment.
  • What do you think of this?
Why? It's not the fiftieth anniversary of Bond gaming.
It doesn't matter whenever the game franchise has started, because the game franchise is a branch of the film franchise and is not recognized as an independent category from the film, but the novels, literary Bond is free category from the film franchise. So, it doesn NOT matter if it is 15th anniversary or i-don't-know-what annivesary of the game, because it's not considered as a free franchise, it's a branch of the film franchise, I repeat.

I hope to see TWO games coming out within close proximation of each other. One for the 50th anniversary next year, and one for the 30th anniversary of Bond games in 2013.

Why hasn't there already been a LEGO Bond game?! Just have a game for Sean's run with DLC for Lazenby, then have Moore's run, then do Tim's and make it longer to make up for the shortness of the run, then Brosnan's full run. Then do Craig's when his time is done.
  • I always preferred a shooter game, no matter in Third-Person or Firs-Person view (but without First-Person perspective cutscenes), and why not to have a lego 007 game?
  • for the 5oth bond game:

you should be able to choose between 1st and 3rd person

you should be able to make your own bond and choose from a selection of voices

there should be a fresh original plot instead of a movie tie in (like nightfire)

maybe even make it open world

and for gods sake PUT A GUNBARREL AT THE START. it makes me feel like im in a bond film.

That'll never happen. Activision would have to put some effort in to do that.

That's what I meant in the first of the topic. This is what it is all about. Read also about the multiplayer in the revised thread in the first page.

Yes, switching between first and third person whenever I want is a must for me. And open world. If I can get that kind of freedom in a Bond game I'll be very satisfied.

NaughtyDog should handle all of the Bond games from now on. Forget about Activision.
Imagine the Uncharted engine but with 007. Godly. Bend would do a good job too.

I've always been confused as to why Activision and EA had the Bond license. Perhaps someone could answer it for me. Since EON and Sony are partnered, why wouldn't Sony give the license to one of their trusted first-party developers, make it PS3 exclusive, then sell more consoles? That sounds like mega bucks to me.
  • I disagree. PS3 exclusive will hurt me. I prefer PC exclusive.

I would like free world but perhaps in your approach for example lets say one level is a casino building and you have 3 options to get to the top floor to interrogate a Quantum member who runs the casino

    1. shoot up the place (easy to do and is like every other bond game)

    2. Stealthfully sneaking (using tactics a bit similar to the splinter cell games knocking out opponents and dragging them to the shadows etc)

    3. the 007 way.. what is this you go in leave your weapon at the door play hold em poker till you have say 100,000 dollars figure out who is the head of security's gf go to her and flirt with her when security grabs her you use the crowds to sneak on the elevator past them and then discretely knock out the 2 guards on the top floor and there you have it

That kinda freedom would mean instant replayablite and make a game that would have us saying Goldeneye what is that i don't care this game _____ is the game for bond fans.

But Activison doesn't have the balls.

Why not have a simple but yet captivating Bond game that includes say 3 or 4 levels of each 007 film to date.

I would love to see a game where we start at Dr No & end up with the present film.

You get main storyplot, fight each villain and perhaps best of all with great graphics get to explore lairs etc just for a fun element to the game.

Perhaps at the end you could also engage in freeplay with various past characters.

It would be a tough game to create but I think could be done.

My only other big wish for Bond 50th would be to see a series of figures Dr Who type for example. Or film figure boxsets for example YOLT set include Bond, Kissy, Blofeld or TLD Bond, Kara, Whitaker.

This is just an idea to toy with.

  • That would be too much like QoS video game. But, I loved @Risico007 's idea.

Sadly you're right. Its just like the nonsense with the spider-man games. These games don't get the backing they need and deserve and get churned out just because its a Bond or spidey game. However, EoN was a very good and enjoyable Bond game but that was by EA I think...

I think the bond games need to leave Activision and go to someone who cares or has a DVD library of more then one film.
  • god i hate activision so much. I want rockstar or naughty dog to make bond games, or failing that, give the licence back to EA, they made really awesome games (nightfire, EON)

in the future maybe we can have games where they scan our bodies and voices, and then make us james bond. Now that would be awesome.

RARE R.I.P. ............. there have been so many remakes, failed and forgotten Bond games after Goldeneye 007 (N64), that it's hard to keep track. Not necessarily remaking the game it's self, but the feel and pure AWE of Goldeneye's game play and sales (of course), and forgot to mention the game's multi-player "addict-ability." (that actually is a word)

Recently have been some great comebacks. If only they could take the vintage feel of "From Russia With Love" (VideoGame) with the new Goldeneye Reloaded Engine, and make it "one game with several Movies/Bonds" tied in all together... If done right, it would be GOLD.

In fact thats whats they should call it, just "GOLD."

Looking at all the comments I would actually like to see a game with elements of each James Bond film.

The new Goldeneye game looks good with the villains you get to play but I still not sure on getting it.

Do you see much of the characters you play as or just eyeshot gameplay?

I'm afraid that'll never going to happen. They have too much fun with their own intellectual properties. I just can't see Rockstar or Naughty Dog ever abandoning that freedom.
  • All Bond Games need is to switch back to "old school" gameplay and abandon COD.

    Developer: Gearbox Software
    Publisher: Rockstar Games

Around the Summer, if past years are anything to go by.

Until then, we've got Skyfall's filming to enjoy.
