A video game for 50th Anniversary, what do you think of the opinion?

If they spoiled the gaming franchise for this year, then they should do something better apart from Bond 23 video game adaption, forget about Raven Software's untitled James Bond video game. Here's what I want:

A brand new video game is called "The Spy Who Came Back" is itself a James Bond video game, that is itself a shooter game both in First-Person and Third-Person Perspective, able for the player to switch them over. As for the 50th anniversary, the player can choose his/her own Bond; Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig. The storyline is a brand new, and set in modern era but lacks Jason Bourne elements. Instead, the plot is a classic spy setting, with lots of gadgets from Q-Branch including the legendary Laser Watch from Omega brand. Bond, in there, only uses Walther PPK as his sidearm. Aside from James Bond character, all of the cast are steady in their roles, featuring Elizabeth Hurley as the main Bond Girl. The gameplay does not feature any of the modern-shooter systems, but are identified as classic shooter, which means no QTE and no regenerating health-bar. You're free to use your knowledge and think like 007, fight in free mode CQB system, which previously used in "Everything or Nothing". Lalo Schifrin or Edward Shearmur must compose the score for the game with every single track must feature the full "James Bond Theme". Main title song will be performed by Shirley Bassey.

What do you think of this?

personally for the 50th annivarsdary there is only so much that can be done since Craig has to be bond of the video games. Hey DaltonCraig would you be offeneded if it the game had a completely original plot but some classic villains (scaramanga odd job etc) came out of the wood work?

You could make a completely nuts game, a bit like GoldenEye: Rouge Agent, where all the past villains are involved using a brand new plot though I'd rather a Bond 23 video game of the film. Just maybe that one will use some of the more liked, updated GoldenEye mechanics.

Some things just wouldn't work @JamesBond. Elizabeth Hurley wouldn't and shouldn't be featured, and having Bond's only weapon to be his PPK and his PPK only isn't smart. He will obviously need to take out tons of villains if the game is to make you feel powerful and be thrilling, and having just a PPK wouldn't be exciting at all. Like many have said, you can only have Craig as Bond at this moment in time. Your idea would work in the break between film Bonds, but any other time you wouldn't be able to pick and choose Bonds. :-< I know, it angers me to. I'd love to see a great 10/10 effort with Connery in classic 60's settings shooting and spying it up. Oh well. Even worse, the development of this game would already have needed to be started at this point. A game of this quality will take a good while, and to be ready for 2012 it will need huge polishing after the script rewrites get done, the game gets cast, the characters and locations are rendered, the soundtrack and theme are done, the voice acting is cast and finished, having the game tested, and the advertisements sent out and set up; not in that order. I am with the collective group that wants a Rockstar helmed Bond game, and if Agent ever releases we'll see if they can pull it off. It would be great to find out that Agent is actually 2012's huge Bond game passed under the table to Rockstar. What? A guy can dream can't he? /:-) I've said it before. I want a Bond game where the dev. team actually take a long and extensively caring time on the title, no Activision copy-and-paste BS. A fighting mechanic with the feel of The Bourne Conspiracy mixed with Batman AA. Locales you can walk through to survey your point of access(The Bourne Conspiracy did that well too). Exciting plot that makes you care for the risks involved in Bond's mission, and some great visual realism infused with the graphics. Great atmospheres, chases in foot and car, sexy ladies, and maybe a sex minigame?? A Bond not based on any actor, just as he is seen in the novels. The scar on the right cheek, the two frongs of hair cascading off his hairline. 3rd person gameplay, Bond moments, the ability to use your environment as a weapon(once again, The Bourne Conspiracy did it extremely well), and for Bond's sake, a game with great replayability that I will actually enjoy replaying and getting trophies for. Any thoughts on any of these ideas?? Tear me to shreds if it warants it. Well...don't be too fierce..... :-D
  • all sounds awesome except the only ppk thing, hes always using other weapons, it would make no sense
  • A great concept for sure. A goldeneye style shooter with all the bonds, classic characters and extreme fanservice is probably every fans dream. I've alawys dreamt of a "few levels per movie" bond game. Kind of like the extra levels in Goldeneye where you would just have like 3 levels based off of select scenes from each of the bond movies. And ofcourse all the characters and such. This kind of thing will never happen tho and it would be very hard to get all the bond actors to voice the characters.

On the other hand..quoting you: " with every single track must feature the full "James Bond Theme". Not sure if you mean the actual theme or John Barrys "bond theme" but either way, as much I like the tune..hearing it every 5 seconds would drive me mad and cause me to loathe it very very soon.

Deus Ex (I'm talking about the new prequel) had it well balanced. Yesterday, while finishing the game, I thought ; get rid of all these science fiction elements, and you'd have a pretty good James Bond game. Hub worlds , side-quests, long enough main quest, different paths, different playing styles. Sneaking, spying, hacking, finding clues, reading e-mails etc etc etc.... Could work. But needed some time to be developed.

I was thinking a bit like RE a game which if you pretend your 007 and note "goldeneye" it's a decent game I love the look of Crab key for example dr. no being some supervillian that would give superman a hard time is less then believable and garbage but some of the locations were nice.

I like the idea of pitting Craig bond against classic villains but to be bluntly honest i don't want people complaining about how it's ruining the franchise.

wether its based on an orignal idea or a classic story or a new story one things i definitly want is a longer single player storyline.

Activison you keep claiming how great your multiplayer is guess what if you turned out an amazing single player game with side missions and ai battles etc and didn't include multiplayer I'm willing to bet it will be an amazing seller why You can't do multiplayer if the single player is crap!

In keeping a realistic mindset, I would assume a Bond 23 game would be a FPS. Ok, fine by me. So the single player campaign is Bond 23. But what they can do for Bond's 50th is instead of those "MI6 ops" they're doing for Reloaded, they can have special missions that nod to Bonds history. It's not the best thing they can do but I think it is the most realistic
  • @bondbat007 that would work well. you could have a mission in space from moonraker, a fort knox mission from goldfinger, an underwater car mission from the spy who loved me, and many more.
  • Well, I never brought any referrence to that jerky-based cheap GERA game. And also, I didn't mean to keep you thinking that Bond is only using a PPK, I was gonna say, "instead of P99, Bond returns to PPK". No COD-based gameplay is needed, as it ruined all the Bond games in Activision's brand. I brought some of the example for the gameplay above. OK, let's quit thinking about Elizabeth Hurley, but think of the NOLF games designs in the game, the production and concept artwork designs, not the graphics. I really want that game, but won't feature any classic villain, but will feature new cast and new plot, with new villains and Bond Girls. Each Bond gets his own era.
  • For the 50th? I'd be delighted if they would just stop the shameless prostitution of the name "Goldeneye" already...

Goldeneye - The Anniversary Edition, because only thing that matters is another Goldeneye. This time for the game's 15th anniversary. Forget about Bond's 50th anniversary. Because there is only one name, one brand, and it's called Goldeneye.

I would actually like to see that! I enjoyed the little war between Goldfinger and Dr. No in GE:RA. However, it would absolutely have to include Bond; this was Rogue Agent's biggest weakness.
Rogue Agent's weakness was that it was a weak science fiction game that tried to marry the Bond franchise with science fiction (and in a bad way). That, plus it had a bad guy against bad guy. Would've actually been a better game if it had a straight up bad guy (a bad mirror image of Bond himself) working for the bad guys against the good guys.

Absolutely true, releastic and gorgeous comments you gave out there. :-D

you should also write down "GoldenEye: The Only Bond Game", "GoldenEye: The Thousand Year Legacy", "GoldenEye: Flashbacks of a Rogue Agent (006)", "GoldenEye: Forever", "GoldenEye: Activision Can Make Only This", "GoldenEye: We Forgot what sub-title we should use", "GoldenEye: Blah, Blah, Blah", "GoldenEye: Call of Duty marries 007", "GoldenEye: ??"

This is Actvision, Craptivision. Expect this from them. Games COD-ized, rubbish releases, no purposes.
  • Oh, please let me revise what I wrote for the "50th anniversary project":

A new James Bond video game has been developing by Eurocom, but never carries any similarities to the previously released Wii title, polished for Xbox 360 and PS3, titled "GoldenEye 007: Reloaded". The video game is meant to be celebrating cinematic 007's 50th anniversary, as it brings lots of suprises to the fans. Who do you think stars as Bond in the game? Well, the player is able to choose his favourite Bond and play with it: Sean Connery, Roger Moore, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig are all in with their voices and likenesses. Each 007 has his own era but with the same storyline and the same supporting characters and cast, but with very bit different design on the levels. The game is called "Honour Among Spies" and carries the classic concept of the classic Bond films instead of Jason Bourne type fugitives or even dark settings from Ian Fleming's novels, which all of the elements were given lighter concept starting from 1962 to 2002. Within Daniel Craig's tenure as James Bond 007, the character is more brutal and too much cold, fighting real-life villains and plots which turned down by the critics and the fans. However, Bruce Feirstein returns to write down the story along with one-time partners from "Everything or Nothing": Danny Bilson and Paul De Meo, who worked on three Bond video games. The gameplay features CQB system, no maps, no regenerarting health-bar and no modern zoom-aiming system. It is obviously a shooter game with switchable perspectives as the player prefers to choose: First-Person and Third-Person. Gadgets return to serve as handy in bad situations for 007, even if the player chose Daniel Craig as the protagonist. Each Bond is able to pick his car for each level: Aston Martin DB-5, Lotus Esprit, Aston Martin Volante, BMW Z8 Roadstar, Aston Martin Vanquish, Aston Martin V12 DBS, Aston Martin V12 Virage, Koenigsegg CCG, Jaguar and more as the driving elements are included, even flight levels in the sky are available and a special level where 007's car transforms into a small sub-marine under the water, homaging "The Spy Who Loved Me" and a previous video game "NightFire" as the game carries very similar gameplay to "Everything or Nothing". Every adventure takes Bond to classy locations such as Monte Carlo, Paris, Miami, Vienna and elsemore, never connected to third-world countries. The team will be directed by the best modern director in the series: Martin Campbell, who directed two movies: "GoldenEye" and "Casino Royale". As well as David Arnold personally returns to write the music score, homaging John Barry's arrangements and artworks in very familiar way. Every major character from the films are available as playable characters in the multi-player and all of them are portrayed by their likenesses, with some have their own voice and some of them don't. "Covert-Ops" mode is available as a plot with two teams; good and evil, race against each other. No matter how persona did the character had, but will perform forcibly high-leveled action. For example, you'll see Vesper Lynd in action, killing opponents with heavy SMGs. The player also can dress the character however he/she wants, something being picked up from "Perfect Dark" (original "GoldenEye 007" game's spiritual successor) video game which wasn't a Bond game. The main title song will be performed by Shirley Bassey and written by David Arnold.

That's what I want to hear. That's what I want to have.

Definitely a game which takes advantage of multiplayer locally and online, and decides to put in a plethora of characters and locations from the movies so that we can really have the best multiplayer experience!

A video game for the 50th Anniversary? Definitely. Although I read somewhere on this forum that 'Skyfall' was already the title of another game, so they'd have to make a game NOT based on Bond23, right?

I'm hoping to see a sandbox-style Bond game for once.

I think it's already been confirmed that "Skyfall" will have a tie-in game, so that one is probably going to be our 50th anniversary for Bond.
