But...I do hope they'll have a press conference and decide to do it the old fashioned way.

Press conference "the old fashioned way"?

The old fashioned way was this:

    end%2Bdiamonds3036.jpg

Sadly those days are long gone. A fun aspect of a Bond film sadly no more.

For now, unless they shoot back to back.

One of the reasons I'm not entirely against the idea of adapting the continuation novels. I find some of the post Cubby films feel more in spirit to John Gardner or Raymond Benson than Fleming anyway. Both TWINE, and SF, IMO, seem like something John Gardner might have come up with in terms of plot and characterizations.
I'd love to see JAMES BOND WILL RETURN IN BROKENCLAW. Or JAMES BOND WILL RETURN IN NEVER DREAM OF DYING.

SF is arguably a remake of TWINE - in terms of much of the plot anyway.

Yes, but we were hailing Nolan as a non-cgi director, and truth is, the sheer amount of CGI in say, Inception, or Interstellar, is gargantuous. If we google "Christopher Nolan green screen" we'll see plenty of images depicting the use of it throughout his films. Including the Batman trilogy. It's all, again, in the way they use it, no in the amount of it.
    + 1

It's amazing what kind of uninformed ideas float around concerning CGI vs practical effects.

Rami Malek has been spotted in London.
    D9v6ztdXkAYwsrL.jpg

Does anyone know if he's about to join the Bond 25 production full time, or that this is maybe just a small gap in his schedule before he goes back to the States?

Mr Robot has wrapped now. I'd say he's in London because he's about to start Bond 25 full time.

'“I was very emotional the day we wrapped. I am a romantic and I wear my heart on my sleeve,” he shrugs. “And Christian also got emotional, more emotional than I’d ever seen him.” Malek has played the role of Elliot Alderson, a vigilante computer hacker, since 2015.'

It looks as though Rami Malek was in Holborn this weekend.

Very look to hear that they have wrapped Mr Robot. That must have been a tough shoot since they started in March and finished in June. That's 4 months to film 12 hours of content.

i'm most excited to see what costumes that Malek is given. If you read the following recent article you can see he has a preferance towards Louis Vuitton:

If there was ever a role that would afford him some flamboyance in the costume department (aside from Freddie Mercury) it's certainly a Bond villain. He already dresses like a baddie:

It's not tought shoot for 12-hours content) It's tough filming for 2-hours film - yes, but not for TV series, which require a lot of material before going to post-production.

Andrew Scott rules out playing James Bond
    https://indianexpress.com/article/entertainment/hollywood/andrew-scott-rules-out-playing-james-bond-5796504/

“I don’t think I’ll get asked to play Bond. They’ll not be like ‘Let’s get Scott in,'” he recently told The Guardian.

“I find it extraordinary that people are so infatuated. I say people. It’s mainly just journalists. I don’t think people are at parties screaming ‘Who’s going to be the next Bond?’ They won’t announce it until 2022, so it will probably go to some whippersnapper who will surprise us all,” Scott added.

I assume he's just throwing out the most logic date there.

I wonder why no mention of his character in SP.

Probably because no one cares about or remembers C.

Yeah but I was surprised that they didn't throw in that he starred along Craig in SP and knows something about being a character in the franchise.

The desperation of the press knows no bounds, stories on Andrew Scott being the next Bond, what next are we going to hear?

Not one of us here would have thought of him for Bond, the tabloids don't half spout a lot of bollocks.

Andrew Scott is the new Maud Adams.

Gardner did have some fine titles. I would have been super excited had I seen this:

    The End Of
    SPECTRE
    Jame Bond Will Return in
    NOBODY LIVES FOREVER

Diana Rigg rules out playing Jane Bond.
Andrew Scott as Bond? Oh my... He couldn't even play a character so little important as C, let alone a main character like Bond.

2022 seams reasonable unless we are in for probably another 4-5 year gap. I do hope they make the 7th Bond special because well 7, 007.

That alone would have risen SP substantially in my rankings.

I like many of the Gardner titles. Weren't they decided by committee at Glidrose?

When we get to B27 and Eon needs a quick script to follow up B26 (presuming it's a new Bond), they could do worse than to adapt one of the Gardners. His stories and set pieces weren't terrible, at least the first few.

It's better to try his material at this point than Purvis and Wade's "original" material, anymore. The screenwriting process this time should be proof to EON they should be gone.

I think they've tried to get rid of P&W several times now and they still get into a mess. On SP I think they started the writing without P&W and then brought them back. Similar story with B25.

They started with them on B25, then dropped them for Hodge and then picked them up again.

With any luck they have already asked PWB for potential ideas for Bond 26.

They've probably got a suite of letters just for P&W. "We don't need you anymore". "Come baaackkkkk!"

Honestly never got the appeal of Gardner I have read a bunch of his books (and plan on reading all of them some day) and the only one I loved was Seafire... he changed to much of bonds universe in my opinion... what I find interesting is people praise Gardner for changing everything yet complain when Benson and Deaver did it
