    If Waltz is used again, I wouldn't be too upset. Brofeld, the way the character was presented and the film in general where all poor, but that wasn't his fault.

    Give him good writing and he will knock it out of the park.

    I don’t doubt it like I said I have no issue with Blofeld back heck if they could of gotten things off the ground faster and the only change I could make is bringing bond 25 earlier I would have no issue with Craig era looking like this

    Quantum of solace
    Skyfall
    Spectre (2015)
    The Garden of Death (2017) (a mixture of you only live twice and ohmss but spilling up Blofeld and Shatterhand into two characters)
    Blofeld 2020 (with elements of You only live twice thunderball and the man with the golden gun being the basis of the plo)

    6 films a Blofeld trilogy of sorts (Dr. Shatterhand being the main villain of TGOD and Blofeld funding him) and a pretty good era

    Tom Hiddleston is 38 today, that means he will be at least 42 in Bond 26.
    I wish they find someone who is currently under 35.

    Possibly. But I doubt it.
    Whilst I mean no disrespect to the awesome Albert Finney, I don't think his character was big enough to warrant a mention. Two films on, it's unlikely that the average moviegoer will recall a character from 8 years ago.

    I'm sure there were any number of fine actors at that pre-BAFTA event who could elevate B25 or a future Bond film. I'd be happy with many of them being in one, including Strong, Hiddleston, Colman, Irons, Fellowes etc. Most have either been nominated for a BAFTA at one point or another, or have won one.

    He was offered Bond many years back apparently. I agree, he'd be perfect. I actually always felt he would make a good Blofeld. He has the right amount of natural sophistication and gravitas to elevate a Bond film in any role.

    I think hiring stars and celebrities for Bond is lazy, distracting, unnecessary, and a both a crutch for unfinished material and an attempt to gain an audience who wouldn’t normally like James Bond. Screw those people.

    I wouldn’t trade Eva Green or Mads Mikkelson, Gert Frobe, etc., for any Hollywood star.

    Sam Mendes was lazy when hiring villains, he saw No Country, he saw Tarantino movies... that’s it. In SF the part was written... personally I would have been fine with an unknown character actor as Silva, no disrespect to Bardem who was great. Then they hired Waltz and thought their job was done.

    They need to write a great James Bond story and characters, then discover and hire great character actors to play those roles.

    I thought Bardem gave a hammy performance, and he looked completely ridiculous with blond hair.

    Yeah, when he was hired I just kind of felt let down as it's such an obvious casting and the series should be anything but. Sadly, his performance was exactly what you'd expect if not less. The once fresh and exciting actor who made villains his own under Tarantino became less than what you'd hope when cast to take on a legendary character in the Bond series. I though Waltz was even more interesting in Horrible Bosses 2 no less.

    It's like if we'd had the internet back in 1967 in finding Donald Pleasance was hired to play Blofeld, knowing he's nothing like we'd imagined given past portrayals and Fleming's writing and already known for playing a variety of villains.

    As DoctorNo said, part of the strength of this series is its casting of unknowns to give us a fresh slate to work with. But even casting a well-known like Diana Rigg worked because it fit the role so well.

    Back in the 90's I would have agreed, he would have been a great Bond villain,m but age gas caught up with him.

    Forgot about that gif. Thanks to remind me how great HVH’s cinematography was and especially how perfect Waltz was in that role. ;)

    Surprised no one's mentioned it, but another attendee of Babs' dinner I noticed in that article who'd be a strong B25 cast candidate is Natalie Dormer. A potentially wonderful addition.

    I'd love to see Natalie Dormer as a Bond girl or a villain, maybe even both. Her performance alone made me love Margaery Tyrell from Game of Thrones.

    Nah, since we already have Seydoux I’d prefer a more “exotic” or Mediterranean casting. Not another blondie. BTW I really liked her in GoT.

    It'll be interesting see how Seydoux looks because they don't necessarily need her to keep her hair colour or style, unless the film is gonna set straight after Spectre.
