Out of his Bond ones Moonraker for me, namely Flight into Space. I can't get enough of that track. Also I like the Wine with Stacey theme.

I find the Corinne/dog chase theme to be one of Barry's very best.

MR - Great score. Shame about the script.

Snow Job and He's Dangerous feature the best trailer film music I've ever heard! I know they're not trailer music - parts of the score to AVTAK - but when you play them over many action film trailers - wow. One of Barry's all time great pieces.

The JB score I listen most to is The Specialist. Once I had managed to get the score from a collector, I could finally complete a life-long search!
  • The John Barry soundtrack I listen to the most is Ipcress File, for personal reasons (reminds me of a close friend now deceased), and since others are naming other non-Bond tracks, so shall I.

Dances with wolves is my favorite

Mine too. It's a classic, and dare I say it is Barry's crowning achievment.

All right, I know that this isn't a good movie. But John Barry really did his best, and something about that title sequence reminds me of Maurice Binder :

@Gerard, I tried to watch that a few weeks ago and couldn't get into it, but I did catch that opening you just posted and had the exact same thought as you did.

    YOLT

Until recent times, I always considered it a good score. But I really get it now. I think it might just be the best one of them all.

OHMSS is the one I listen to the most. Then TLD & TB equally. I also have a compilation cd of a lot of his scores from other films, and that gets a lot of airtime as well.

TLD and OP are the most listened here. Perhaps not as grand as GF or TB but more versatile in my opinion with much more impactful romance cues

OHMSS is the one I listen to the most as it's my favourite score of all time.

As far as Bond goes it's the bench mark and as far as an action score I don't think it's has a rival. The ability to create melodic, memorable and exciting music to accompany a film it has no peers.

That coupled with also being able to deliver on the atmospheric tense elements as well as heatbreaking romantic cues it just astounds me how right Barry got it here.

Bond scores while still quality were all downhill from here, no slight on them it's just a masterpiece and likely to be ever rvialed again.

It's one of the strongest reasons that this film is held in such high regard and has endured better than most of the films that followed it.

Lion In The Winter is another favourite as well.

It just has to be Thunderball and The Living Daylights, those two are impeccable. I'm not sure they will ever be topped.

Saying all that, I think the casino Royale- qos David Arnold scores were definitely on the right track to be in the same league as Barry but in a new generation of bond

Because I have the CD in my Jeep and not that it's my absolute favorite, the one I listen to the most is The Specialist In general it's a very low key, sultry listen.

Most listened to Barry score; TLD's probably. A great all-rounder and there's really nothing for me to complain about. I guess you just have to like the general melody and then you're hooked.

What's great is that the score is just as awesome by itself, as it is during the film. The romantic scenes are well accompanied - as always w/ Barry - but I also feel like the action gets boosted immensely, so he ticks all boxes. I forget how much input he had into "Where Has Everybody Gone?" but I love the snazzy sound of it too.

I love that Barry went out on his only cameo, conducting. He couldn't have asked for a better final scene.

The score I listened to the most in my life is THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS.
I must have played it at least 200 times in 1987/1988 alone.

By now it must exceed 1'000 times, that's quite certain. So it is probably even the most played album I have ever owned.

Jeez this is a tough one. I own them all on vinyl so I put them on quite often - like most here I love the TLD soundtrack - that time period so means so much to me. I quite like listening to YOLT and OHMSS but actually the two I'd listen to the most are AVTAK and FRWL.

AVTAK has danger, romance and the added bonus of the title track blasting out when the needle first hits the groove. It's an exciting soundtrack.

FRWL would be a key one for me because I love that film so much. 'James Bond is Back' is absolutely amazing. I love Spectre Island - I really wish they'd kept that as Spectre's theme throughout the Connery/Lazenby era. It's distant, sinister and mysterious. Love it. Actually the sense of exotic mystery throughout the soundtrack adds to the atmosphere. Of course it has the wonderful 007. And I like the crooning of Matt Munro. I recognise this is purely subjective - but it's one of my favourite soundtracks because I'm transported to that wonderful film every time I listen to it.

Although I own all the soundtracks I did a 5 CD compilation of all my personal favourite tracks. Anal I know, but all in order of release!

I keep them in the car so I can have Bond playing two and from work!

The Barry score I've played the most is probably TLD.

    Non-Barry: LALD, FYEO and GE.

Those are the Bond OST's I listen to the most.

I can empathise with the organisation of CDs! I did a similar thing with iPod. Had three playlists. One with all my favourite tracks in order of their significance to me - one with just instrumental songs - no title tracks. And the third an exercise work out playlist I stupidly called 'Gyms Bond'. It has all the tunes that get the blood flowing - OHMSS title track, You Know My Name, Bond 77, Golden Gate Fight, James Bond is back, Live and Let die and for that final push I have 'Dawn Raid on Fort Knox' - it has the building pace and urgency, I love the instrumentation used on this.

I was playing it in the car once and my wife proclaimed, "This is boring..."

    I almost punched her.... X(
