I'm wondering if this scene may end up being finished at Pinewood. From memory the canal does not extend under the bridge seen in this shot, it's just a facade. The building above is a mix of residential/commercial and extends back into Camden market/The Stables.

Betting May with Avengers: Age of Ultron
  • Thanks everyone for posting the pictures from the filming in London. Nice to see Mendes in the boat and smiles all around...Hopefully he will be back for B25!

I really doubt Mendes will be back for Bond 25, although I was absolutely sure he would not return to direct a second one after Skyfall... so who knows...

What's great is they've appeared to grab London on a sunny day, unlike a lot of the drab days they captured in SF.

The cinematography in this movie is going to be great I think......maybe better than Deakin's SF, if I dare say so.

Am I the only one who think Daniel Craig looks very similar to Sean Connery?? I always thought, apart from his hair color, that he looked quite similar to Connery. Especially his mouth.

It looks like they've used a huge spot, though.

In that location, at that time of day, they'd need it. The natural light is relatively low.

This was DC's reaction to seeing Liverpool get manhandled by Man U.

I've very glad they're back filming in London. I've always felt London is underused in Bond films.

It's a great location, one of the world's best cities, and helps them to keep production costs down.

I say they should continue to do this in other Bond films as well (in moderation).

They should be proud to use 'home base' when they can in a British production.

I'm also ecstatic that Bond's apartment will be back. Mendes & Craig are big fans of LALD, so I'm not surprised that they chose to reference that movie somewhere like this (like they did with the komodo's in SF).

I thinkkk "Skyfall" was the film that paid tribute to Brits, England....and also London no ;-). Quite unique really.

I still think they also looked to the planning / shooting schedule of SF. I remember the scene where Moneypenny handed over the bulldog to James was one of the first scenes filmed, November 2011 I think.

London's role in SPECTRE will be much smaller I think. Like in many other Bond films. Picking up Bond, Bond gets a briefing from MI6, that sort of stuff really. Also, someone said that on location shooting in London is almost finished....which is quite fast...

Nice one DC, that is what I thought when today I read in THE SUN that DC looked scared whilst on the speed boat! What an absolute crock!!!

What do you think the runtime for Spectre will be? Baring in mind Skyfall was around 143 minutes (2hrs 23mins)

Not a huge spoiler (about script pages), but if we take into account 1 script page is one minute, then Spectre will be
    Around the same length, actually.

Almost finished for now.... but they'll be back in the capital. SP won't have as much exposure to the UK as SF did but I'd still safely say it will get the second most London scenes in the entire series.

Yes, I agree about DC's Bond being at his best yet. But I think the same themes will still arise from SF though (Bond's personal journey and also the relevance of keeping the 00 section or not) so this film will feel much more like a continuation of SF than anything in CR or QOS.
