Who should/could be a Bond actor?

    I'd agree. He sold me ages ago, just has aged out a bit. I'd take a trilogy with him if they had no other ideas and we wanted someone I see as a blend of Connery and Brosnan on the poster. Could do a lot worse, and many here have tried.

    Had it been 2015, when And Then There Were None aired, I would have totally agreed with you. And at the time I think I was championning him. The problem is that we are ten years later and Turner is no longer 30 but 40, meaning he will probably be, at best, 42 or 43 when Bond 26 will be released. He's the one who looked the most like Bond conceptually speaking as you said, but unfortunately the ship has sailed for him.

    He would have been the best candidate, with Jamie Dornan for my money, to take up the role if Craig finished his run in 2015 with Spectre. But unfortunately it didn't happen.

    The question is @DewiWynBond how are you going to handle the screen tests?
    How’s your voice?
    Height?
    Have you rehearsed the two scenes EON often use for tests, Bond and Tania in Bonds hotel and Bond and Tracy in Bonds hotel?
    Any hesitation any could cost you the role.

    @Benny I have different voice deliveries which I'd need to modify after a discussion. I have not rehearsed with another person.

    I'm excited for screen testing, and on set I'd be quiet, creative, and learn on the job.

    That's good. Bond is a charismatic fellow, so you'll be needed to create some magic with your female costars on the screen.

    That’s very kind of you @buddyoldchap even though I am English and have lived in Australia for the past 26 years, there are a few stumbling blocks.
    I’m not an actor
    I’m balding
    I don’t have the looks or physique for the role
    And most importantly, I’ll be in my early 50’s by the time Bond 26 goes into production.

    EON as usual are working covertly. Once they announce Bond 7, it won't sound out of place, if they said they've been watching Bond 7 since Spectre wrapped production.

    Well, EON is the true Spectre on Bond’s shoulder, the author(s) of all his pain. They have people everywhere and they operate in the shadows ;)

    In EON I trust. That much I am sure. And I’m quite curious as to what they’ll come up with next.

    Exactly. How can one imagine another scenario, in which they are blind to it. They are smart and have a formidavle machine to keep running. Of course they are watchful. It’s not as they do Bond26 charades over the Christmas dinner, but they do talk amongst each other. I’m sure they do.

    I bet they do, all the time. I'm also constantly reminded of Cubby's words to Barbara, about not letting anyone screw up Bond. She's not a giddy, smitten schoolgirl anymore. She knows the business she's in. And I think we're lucky that the Broccoli's are still very much involved.

    GE has a weak script. The movie and the villain don't make much sense.

    But I didn't read the John Gadner's novelization. Maybe he fixed all the plot holes.

    In some alternate dimension Guy Ritchie made Casino Royale (2006) with Jason Statham as Bond. Thankfully, I don't have the space time coordinates to access that dimension.

    Must say, that really does look like a bit of healthy fun :)

    Not sure I’d want that for our man Bond, though. I’m a bit sick of action, and would love a comeback of some proper espionage.

    That looks like loads of fun. It's probably the most likeable I've ever seen Cavill to be honest. I've always liked Guy Richie and his direction I'm general
