    Well, young Bond def would be a fresh idea and from Amazon's pov smart, as they can bank a loooong time from 'og Bond'.

    One thing that I hope for, particularly if casting a young actor, is to have a path charted; too often the Craig era seemed to be wandering with no story direction. Every detail need not be finalized but at least have the next era broadly plotted.

    I wouldn’t necessarily want everything mapped out in precise detail. Sometimes - especially with Bond, which are all one off adventures even with recurring story threads- it’s better to discover each creative opportunity as it comes and keep it fresh. Often it’s those big changes in creative direction which bring the most success (ie. Had they mapped out a whole Vesper/Quantum trilogy or whatever we likely wouldn’t have gotten the SF we did, which was a key film for Craig’s era and much needed I’d say). I’m sure Fleming didn’t intricately map out things either.

    On the flip side I suspect the Craig era had much more of a game plan than the other Bond eras! I get the sense they were always going to slowly reintroduce the more traditional Bond stuff as they did.

    It’ll definitely be interesting. But I think in practice it’s very tricky going too young. It’s the issue CR ultimately had.

    Yeah I'm not sure any film series has had a plan to start with and stuck to it: you've got to find out what audiences like, change accordingly; plus let new people come in and take ownership of the thing. And also really all of your energy should be being piled into the film you're making right now- that's kind of what I want in a Bond film, and it's what Cubby and Barbara did every time, really. You should pour all of your ideas into this film right now, and if you have a couple which don't fit and you can keep for later then great, but it's not the main focus.
