Goldfinger is currently going cheap on eBay, if anyone is looking to add it to their collection?

I can only find the GF steelbook for $40 or so here in the States, which is way too expensive for my blood.

The rare "Casino Royale" steelbook I have IS really rare. I bought it for like €65.....and I'm pretty certain you won't find it on eBay :-)

YES, I bough all 9 of them, via http://www.mediamarkt.de :-D! I got my paycheck yesterday andddd a huge bonus, so I pre-ordered and paid them immediately.

And guess what, in total these 9 steelbooks, including postal/transport costs of only €1,99, costed me €163,90 (€17,99 per steelbook). That's a whole lot cheaper as compared to the Zavvi-shop. And there I can't even buy SF and QOS.

    I can't waitttt :-D!

Those are beautiful! Much more appealing than most of the covers we have been given in the last few go arounds.

That's why I bought them. My friends already declared me insane :-P. But then again, they know I'm a Bond fan.....a complete utter Bond geek nerd hehe.

    But the Pound...

We're used to it. We pay through the arse for everything here, so its par for the course.

You could have gotten the Euro though :-P.

Screw the euro, it's Monopoly money.

In 2100, the UK will have the Euro too @RC7 :-P.

Anyway, down below a nice video from the Goldfinger-steelbook, and how it looks. Don't mind the German language (good language for a villain hehe):

I just searched for some non-Bond steelbook beauties. Please dear forummembers, have a look at these absolutely magnificent steelbooks. Also movies I really like:

Nowadays also independent graphic designers (lovers of fanart behold!) get a change to see their art released on steelbooks. Some examples are these from Studio Gallery 1988, who cooperated with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment:

And I think thisss will be my favourite James Bond steelbook. Absolute magnificent main titles design by Daniel Kleinman. Also have a look at the back. I will get these in Septemberrrr :-D!:

I know that 'Mad Max: Fury Road' will be receiving tons of different special editions and steelbooks, but the one for the US (I'm sure it'll release in other countries) has me really impressed. Not only is it a steelbook, but the cover art is great:

As soon as I have the money, I'll be pre-ordering this bad boy.

@Gustav_Graves I'm a car fan, so Vanishing Point and Rush are awesome! I really like American Graffiti's too, it's one of my favourite movies. And Fargo, since I'm from Minnesota, holds a special place in my heart.
I loved "Rush" and "The French Connection". And "Vanishing Point" is an underappreciated gem also. Just search your favourite movie on ebay together with the word "steelbook", and you'll find a nice one ;-).

    Not a lot of Steelbooks.

Skyfall, Jaws, E.T, Scarface, The Dark Knight Rises and the last Harry Potter film...I quite like digibooks aswell...JFK, The Godfather, The Shawshank Redemption. I think Bond digibooks would be cool.

I really have a lot of Steelbooks, some 100 plus I guess.
I'll buy all 9 Bond Steelbooks of course, having the covers taken from the opening credits is bloody brilliant!

That's a beautiful steelbook for sure. I pre-ordered the 3D blu-ray through Amazon but might head over to Best Buy anyways to pick up the steelbook.

I too have preordered the new steelbooks. I just couldn't resist, despite owning multiple versions of the same films, like many of you here I suspect. This will be my fifth copy of some of the films, I think!

If you're in the UK, Quantum of Solace and Skyfall are now available from Zavvi as well. I ordered the set of 7, which was available as one listing, but that has sold out now. All 9 are still available individually.

I started to second guess myself and as bad as I want these, I don't know if I can shell out over $100 just for new cases that nobody will ever see or appreciate but me.

I know what you mean. When I get them my wife will undoubtably declare me insane (once more :)) )

What I have done with the 4 Bond Steelbooks I have so far is to fix them on a white canvas and hanging them on the wall like an art installation.
It gets the attention every time we receive guests at our house!

I have to take a picture of it sometime and post it here. It looks fabulous, and I do not need the discs inside anyway.

And you should see my glass cabinet full of Star Trek DVD's, Blu-ray's, Blu-ray boxes, DVD boxes and Starships made of lego-bricks! Worth several thousands of Swiss Francs or Dollars.

My (considerably better) half ordered the set of 7 from Zavvi for my birthday. I already have the 2012 Skyfall Steelbook so I've just gone ahead and ordered myself QoS :)

God, I can't wait for these 9 beauties. They are simply astonishing. I will get them in 5 weeks from now on :-D. What do you think of them @RC7 .

By the way, here you find an in-depth article featuring all James Bond steelbook sets, including the ones that have been released already (of which the German imported "Casino Royale" is very very rare)

Is it this one, from this picture??

If so, then you were very damn lucky to find that steelbook at that price. Even after the 9 new steelbooks will be released next September, that German CR-steelbook will be the most limited and rare steelbook. Take good care of it.

I'm probably in the minority, but I really don't care for that cover for CR whatsoever, even as a steelbook. I prefer my deluxe edition blu-ray with the slipcover (which is now apparently hard to come by). I was going to send it off to Daniel Craig to have it signed last year, but I thought with my luck, I wouldn't get it back, so I just went with my blu-ray copy of 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' instead.

In all honesty, me too. But I have both hehe ;-). Even the 2-Disc DeLuxe BluRay. Still, this is quite a price:

I just found it on Ebay. Too pricy for me :-O. But then again, I already have this steelbook.

$119?!! That's way too steep for any film purchase for me, unless it comes with an insane amount of extras or collectibles.

You're saying that solely from a well-thought, rational viewpoint. But 'collecting' is a weird profession. And collecting has more to do with emotions and passion. Would you buy a 'piece of paper' like this :-)? Uninsured?

No, but I can totally understand where that thought process comes from. Now if it was one of my favorite films and the cover art/steelbook/casing absolutely blew me away, then I could warrant a purchase of that magnitude. Hell, I've even seen duplicates of the Goldeneye key go for $400 or so, and if I had that kind of money, you bet I'd buy it. But, this is all from the "rational" viewpoint of someone who is typically broke. ;)

EDIT: This beauty is now mine:

Digital HD code arrives in an e-mail tomorrow so I know what I'll be watching on my 48" TV in HD tomorrow evening. ;)

OMG, I was just checking for a steelbook version of "Kingsman The Secret Service". They are really beautiful, but also shockingly expensive :
