For argument's sake, even if they film into early November:

That leaves 5 months for post-production. That would be the equivalent of a November-released Bond film finishing shooting in early June, which -- if I'm recalling correctly from recent entries -- is entirely consistent with precedent and arguably even a bit early. (Seem to recall Casino shot into July, but I could be wrong about that).

So, even with that extreme adjustment to compensate for its troubles, Bond 25 remains comfortably on track for an April 2020 release assuming a similar post-schedule to recent films is followed.

There's also no way, commercially, that they give up the April 8th date next year IMO. They'll move heaven and earth to hit it.

Yep. I'm not sure why this idea of the date being pushed back is still coming up. Short of a cataclysmic event, there's no reason to even consider pushing back yet.

Recently posted photo with Cary Fukunaga. I don't know when it was taken but maybe new.

No idea when it was taken. CJF may ave flown over this weekend. However, he is due to film nightshoots all week at Pinewood.
    You are perfectly right, @Pierce2Daniel

Daniel Craig, Lashana Lynch, Ana de Armas and Dali Benssalah are filming all week in Pinewood a big sequence that involves all of them. Of course, Fukunaga is and will be there.

Is this big sequence you speak of the one that is involving all the gunfire they warned loacl residents about?

Thank you. Thanks for the info.

Léa Seydoux has not yet filmed her scenes, it's looks like they will be in Italy.

They should do the sensible thing and push the release date back to October 2020.

You can't make these vague claims without sourcing it. Also, how is it possible for Craig to film in his current condition?!?

Both the Hollywood Reporter and Deadline have an indepth analysis of 'X-Men: Dark Phoenix' and the drama surrounding distributors, reshoots and numerous release date changes.

Well worth a read if you're pondering the current state of things.

A few weeks, usually - it depends on how badly the ligament is torn. However, considering Dan has had surgery it should heal a bit faster. I had a similar injury thanks to a nasty stud-showing tackle in football from a few years ago. Ligaments are worse than a broken bone in that one a ligament is torn it is rarely the same strength ever again, though it does seemingly heal a bit faster.

They'll keep Dan's physical exertion to a minimum for the next 2-3 weeks. After that, he could start putting weight back on it again.

Ten years ago I had a completely severed tendon in my right foot surgically repaired; within a month I was back to normal, moderate activity and was cleared to return to firefighting activities after two months. I was , however, exercising, and vigorously walking on it a couple of weeks prior to that.

While the most likely, do we know that it was a tendon?

I was told it was a ligament damage.

    Good lord.

Like many of you, I have nothing but respect for the commitment Dan has brought to the role. My favourite Bond, in fact. And I have no doubt that he'll do whatever he can to deliver another great performance.

But those photos . . . the optics are dreadful. The tabloids are going to have a feast on the image of James Bond hobbling around on crutches.

Although I don't think that EON should let the media dictate their moves, it might be time for a few judiciously-measured tidbits to come out. A few vignettes on YouTube, a short behind-the-scenes or 'on-set' interview with a nice friendly personality . . . something!

    Here's a nice overview

    https://www.epainassist.com/bones/what-is-ligament-tear

"What is the Recovery Period from Ligament Tear?
Majority of cases of Ligament Tear resolves within four weeks of injury and the patient can return back to normal level of activities but in some severe cases it may take up to 12-16 weeks for full recovery from a Ligament Tear."

Photos of the "boot" don't scare me. It's a necessary help for healing and precaution. I guess I'll stay off here for awhile and just find my news elsewhere, pop back on after there is confirmed set pics or something. The ongoing angst and back and forth about movie being delayed!! not delayed!! I had enough of on other threads. I'll just keep checking those I follow on Instagram. Bye for now ... I shall return ... ;)

I wouldn't be surprised if we get something minor soon, like one of those on-set videos.

It's a bit of a toss up. Were this a traditional November/December-start for a Bond film, where we are right now would be, what, the equivalent of the very beginning of January (at best?) Were we seeing on-set media by that point for Skyfall, SPECTRE, etc?

This production has been the complete opposite the production of Skyfall & SPECTRE. I remember all the excitement that came with the production of those 2 movies.

What is happening with this film?! One minute we get word that Craig will return once he has had a minor op, next he turns up like a bus has hit him?!? Eon desperately need to do some damage control pronto.

Meanwhile - in spite of this news - filming continues tonight. An extra uploaded this from Pinewood:

It looks like some kinda blacktie party probably in Jamaica. Would be great if Bond returned to a casino in the film.

Meanwhile another extra is playing a ‘Cuban Dancer’:

@DonnyDB5 -- c'mon man, you were lucky and knew this delay was happening weeks ago (cough, cough)... Way ahead of the Sun, that is only catching up now, lol.

    This "troubled" production is fine.

You know why? Coz those in charge are professionals and have dealt with this through the history of this franchise.

And the rest of us? We're armchair managers/coaches calling for delays, or other silliness.

Once the first teaser drops, and has CF's visual flourishes, and a thumping soundtrack is heard, everyone will be saying holy sh*t, and anticipation for the film will explode.

There's a great story in place; a kick-ass and innovative director working with a spectacular cast.

    Relax....

I'd just like to say that EON owes us nothing. As long as things are reasonably on track, they really don't need address the tabloid negativity, because, quite honestly, it indirectly promotes the film. They'll be able to begin spinning the hype when they have the trailer and other materials ready. When that happens the months of pointless concern will be washed away in seconds.

I'd say the lead actor seriously injuring themselves is fairly cataclysmic isn't it? On an action movie in particular. Just saying.

A super fit friend was wearing a boot like this for over a month and then hobbling on crutches for a few weeks more before recovering.

However it looks like they're pushing ahead with filming so they must be expecting Dan to be fit quite soon.

Perhaps the ensemble nature of the cast and focus on other characters other than Bond means there's lots to shoot that doesn't require Dan.

I think Harrison ford broke his leg on force awakens and shot a load of his stuff sat down from the waist up.

Guys seriously some of you need to get some perspective.

Oh yeah. Actually on second thoughts having the lead actor hobbling about on crutches on a $150m+ movie is a good thing.

There is a difference between realism and mindless denial.
