Personally, I believe they wouldn't need to show the kidnap of the scientist if Felix was to turn up at Bond's home only to repeat everything that we've already seen five minutes previously. I think the kidnap will happen before and off-screen, and the first time we hear about it is from Felix himself.

The time-elapse makes sense in the PTS. They could even go so far as to digitally de-age Craig a little bit to show the difference with the passage of time.

Despite the fact that having Vesper's grave in Matera doesn't make a lot of sense. To me Vesper felt like a done deal (from 007 perspective) when he threw away Vesper's videotape in SP... Plus, I don't see Bond hiding happily in Jamaica right after being chased in the PTS, even if that particular scene took place right after SP events. He's relaxing in Jamaica because he quitted when the job was done. But in the end it all depends how they would handle such situations...
I'm unsure of where this Vesper's grave in Matera idea came from? I think that's just wild fan speculation and lifted straight from FYEO. The PTS could even involve Madeline and Bond getting married for all we know. Who honestly knows at this stage apart from the writers? However, if the movie jumps from a past event during the PTS to a present day one, post titles, then having Bond relaxing in Jamaica wouldn't be anymore of a stretch than Bond relaxing on a beach at the start of SF three months after having fallen to his death from a railway bridge before the SF titles, except this time round he's accompanied by Madeline. I'm vaguely aware that the Italian press printed something about Matera being in the PTS but I'm unsure of how they'd have been privy to any scripts or story outlines. Again, I think it was a bit of journalistic licence to print something completely fabricated disguised as a scoop.

One thing Cary Fukunaga made clear was that they shot a sequence in advance in Norway due to the weather. This makes me think that the sequence comes much later in the movie, but had to be shot in advance before the snowy weather turned to warmer climes. I don't think this Norway setup is in the PTS.

I think we'll have a non-grownup-Bond PTS. Maybe a younger one one but probably a Bondless one

    what do you mean?..

Was the piece of information that this would be a two day 'event' (meaning Thursday and Friday) ever officially confirmed? Should we be expecting something else to be announced tomorrow?

I'm very happy with the cast, but EON need to hire some skilled marketing people who 'get' the internet and how to excitingly promote movies in this day and age. Those short clips released on Twitter are better than the entire conference we've witnessed today.

You would think that at least one of the 15 writers who worked on the script could have developed a usable title.

You know what? My favourite bit was the synopsis. No younger agent, no personal stuff, no old foes, just Bond on a mission. Isn't that what we wanted all along?

Also, Ana de Armas is superb casting. So are the others. Check out Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Mr. Robot, Blade Runner 2049,...

Seydoux didn't say a word as of yet.

    Brilliant, Felix is back.

13 years on and people still react badly to Craig being uncomfortable in interviews. It's just the way he is, damn it. Leave it be.

The event was just fine. Loved the sun and the overall mood. Fukunaga's loafers and suit choice were lovely. Still the best looking bloke in this production. The girls looked wonderful. All of them.

All and all, I've far more hyped now then I was before. Thank you EON.

Also that trailer with the numbers was terrific.

"Rami Malek has already done some Norway stuff." At Pinewood?

Still think there will be some personal stuff this time around. Happy for it to be as little as possible though!

I wont be at all surprised if David Dencik will deliver the standout performance of Bond 25!
"I feel like I am working for the Pentagon"

Is that his/EON's twisty way of saying that his character is working for them? I mean, assuming he is the scientist mentioned in the synopsis, would make sense that it's Leiter that asks Bond for help...

Agree, I do get the feeling that this little line could be a little tease of sort – or maybe something to just keep fans speculating!

I just like the fact that everything is so tight lipped. And that's what I got from this statement. Outside of Malek and Magnussen, we didn't hear anything early other than the usual cast. Which is good so we are hopefully not going to get massive leaks.

Although todays live Steam was pretty dull, I have to say that Dan is looking in great shape and looks very, very handsome. He looks the best he's done (especially his hair - which IS important) since Casino Royale. And I'm saying this as a straight man btw. But Bond MUST look great. It's part of the deal.

Same here. Not complaining at all with the secrecy of Bond 25 so far. It's refreshing, and makes even me – who isn't the Craig era's greatest fan, excited.

"Rami Malek has already done some Norway stuff," says @lizo.
Then that was meant to be Rami in the mask? Interesting.

I somehow don't see the "dangerous new technology" as being anything to do with climate change, especially when mankind's presence is already a far bigger global threat than anything a scientist could come up with. What would be the point? A rogue scientist has developed a dangerous new technology that can speed-up climate change much faster than our own carbon footprint or fossil fuel companies can?

Doesn't the clapperborad (scene 15 K) suggest that the PTS plays out in Norway? Fukanaga may have started his synopsis where the real film sets in. This suggests that Bond is not in the PTS.
(By the way, where did the spoiler tags go?)
Fifteen scenes into the movie would surely be post PTS and somewhere early on within the first act.
  • Craig looks like he wants to be anywhere, but there.

Where is the enthusiasm Moore and Brosnan had?

    It's time for a new 007!

@Lizo can you ask Lashanna Lynch if she is possibly playing the new 007......

She fits the brief of the 'young protege' character that has been rumoured.

I've not seen her in anything - but she seems charming. She looks as though she could steal the film.

Being asked for the billionth time what your favorite gadget is, must be super exciting. I imagine Craig would MUCH rather start Shooting than awnsering stupid questions to the press that does nothing but misrepresent him any chance they get.

He must be bored out of his mind with the wait till Sunday and it shows, just wait till the man gets going.

That event was very low key but everyone looked their best and Jamaica is beautiful. I bet they just want to start already.

Anyway, i got what i wanted, and will leave this thread for good now.

A few guesses about the direction of the movie, based on what’s been said so far.
    1. PTS - posited as a thrilling car chase, but turns out to be Bond late for his wedding.
    2. Plot synopsis sounds reminiscent of MI3 - a straightforward rescue mission goes all to hell, with the retribution being Bond’s house, wife Etc.
    3. After that, what is left? The old job. The brave choice would be NOT to retread a revenge for lost love idea, but set up a story of two halves, where Bond comes back and gets on with a world-saving task.
    4. Why no title yet? Because the final choice will signal what happens in the second half, I reckon.
    5. In case it’s just that they cannot agree on a title. Just saw a reminder for a good title: “All The Time In The World”. Even better than “Eclipse”, “Shatterhand”, etc. Etc. ?
    6. Has anyone watched the actual 007 film, “Eclipse” on YouTube? ( Likely where the Daily Express rumour actually originates. )

If Bond is in Jamaica at the start of the film. What is the pts going to look like.

I notice how you left out Connery, Dalton and Lazenby, @Visitor1982, from your enthusiasm classes. Craig was doing what Craig does in almost every interview, keeping it self-contained. That's fine. We should know what to expect from him by now.

You'll get your new 007 with Bond 26.

    Okay. If you say so.

EDIT: Just double-checked. Scene 15 in SP is Bond "passing between secretaries" at MI6, right after the main titles.

If you have the chance, catch Captain Marvel, she's very good in that and was widely considered the cast's MVP. I assume Cary cast her off the back of that film.

Lashana Lynch was good in Captain Marvel.

She also looks convincingly tough. Hope we get to see her kick some ass.
