Still holding out some hope for a female villain as well. It’s been a while since we had one.

Well, Johnson fits the femme-fatale archetype. Essentially the credibility of the Italian report hinges on whether that location is confirmed. The casting suggestions seem random enough to be true.

Though, I just looked online and Johnson was cast earlier this week in a new film due to film next month:

There's a chance it's a small film and can be done around Bond 25 - but still it immediately throws a large grain of salt into this situation.

Is it just me or she looked slightly similar to Elektra king from TWINE in that picture.

Not just you. First thing I thought of.

+3. I think we'll get some more casting rumors this week, however.

Seeing as the first Bond film Fukunaga saw was A View To A Kill, I'm hoping he'll be inspired by May Day and have a female henchwoman as the secondary Bond girl.

Plus, it would change up the dynamic (especially with Swann in the mix). See, we usually have the main Bond girl and the sacrificial lamb. Why not have the main Bond girl and a henchwoman who still fits into the role of a Bond girl?

    Me? Emily Blunt. FWIW.
  • Would like to see MK12 back because they offered something different, although it was trying to emulate the old films but at least the CR titles were more original
  • Will Dennis Gassner's talented work be back, since Danny Boyle is now off the project?

One of the things I really disliked were the fonts themselves, I felt they were too gimicky. I also think MK12 made the worst gunbarrel design of the series.

I think that honor should go to the SF gunnarrel.

Yeah! Me too, Italy must offer them some serious tax credits along with the stunning countryside and ease of access. But maybe another country would be nice.

Speaking of the title sequence, I hope Daniel Kleinman is returning. While I wasn't a huge fan of Spectre, the title sequence was beautiful.

I’d have to say Quantum’s titles were the best of the Craig era, but that’s mostly for the YOLT homages in some of the imagery. Doubt we’ll get MK12 again anyway.

    -2

    Ranking:
    Cr
    Sp
    Sf
    Qos
That being said titles are very good in all four. Definitely bring Kleinman back.

Me too. One could legitimately claim they have overused Italy as a location for Craig´s Bond, ut seriously, why would I complain? There are still treasures there they have yet to exploit. Bring it on, I´d say!

I do hope they find a new place to visit though, and that we don´t get another Venice scene...

People here are seriously against the great Emma Stone appearing in a Bond film?? I will never understand mi6community...

Casting well known actors and actresses for a franchise such as Bond can be tricky; it can have the effect of pulling a viewer out of a film.

If an actor or actress is any good, surely they are capable of making people believe in their character and performance.

Agreed. I don't mind them using Italy again, as long as they visit new places there. Italy has been an integral part of Craig's era, with many key scenes taking place there (vespers death, meeting Blofeld/Spectre, meeting Mr. White, reuniting with Mathis.) So i don't want them to just use it but make it a key scene again.

And i also would love it if Craig returns to Austria for a scene, especially if Blofeld returns.
  • I'll confess to being surprised by the feelings towards Dakota Johnson here. I'm quite indifferent to her, myself, and found the 50 shades movies (or at least the few minutes that I saw of them) cringeworthy.

I hope there keep Mark Tildesley. Gassner should already focus on Bond 26 for 2022. Other way around can be option too with keeping Danny Boyle for Bond 26. It be smart if there already have found a directer for Bond 26 when there search replacement for Danny Boyle.

Bond 22 should be released atleast in December 2022, two years and 10 months after Bond 25. That's 10 months more then QOS get and only two months left from the 3 years time between SF and Spectre.

Two movies in almoost 7 years should not be that much to ask.

The location crew is in Jamaica at the moment, led G. Wilson.

Marvellous. Have been calling for a return to Jamaica for years. It's Bond's spiritual home. Great news.

So many locations to choose from but I suppose Goldeneye is an obvious one. Hope they really capture a sense of the country.

Did anyone notice how chummy Daniel and Emma were during the Golden Globes?

Maybe he got drunk again and asked her if she wanted to be in Bond 25.

The issue is I think this is where the rumour stems from. She just recently worked with his wife, so of course people are going to link her to James Bond.

Emma Stone is excellent. And anyone who has seen The Favourite will know she can do a decent English accent. Dakota Fanning is also not a bad actress but frankly I don't really see either of them in B25. With Lea Seydoux already expected to return, this seems like far too many 20/30 year old female characters. I am not generally a fan of American actresses in Bond (Barbara Bach being an exception) but wouldn't object to either. Just seems unlikely.

True to a degree, but depending on the film and role , an actor’s fame can be a distraction, particularly cameos.

I guess cameos can feel forced.
