The one thing I do not want fukunaga to include in bond 25 which is a trademark of his is a child dying it just seems too depressing even by craig bond standards.

I doubt that will happen. Children have rarely seen screen time in a Bond film. The only notable one is the boy in the boat in TMWTGG. Off the top of my head, I believe that is the only child in a Bond film with a speaking part. The only other kids are extras on beaches, most notably the kids chasing Solange on the horse in CR.

How could you forget the kid in DAF?

One of the joys of CR was how it found a way to include M in the story more but to strip down and focus on her relationship with Bond. It was there we saw the odd surrogate son/mother relationship come together.
To be honest, I felt this throughout Dench's tenure, including during the Brosnan years.

Same. That makes sense, M felt like a fatherly figure (kinda) to Bond in the novels and M was a nickname Fleming used to call his own mother.

I should also add that, despite everything, I think EON is onto a winner with Fukunaga. Everything I've seen and heard so far is quite encouraging.

I like the fact that Fukunaga's first Bond was a Roger. Anyone showing some love for AVTAK is cool by me. He doesn't seem to pick favorites or dismiss any of the the Bond's .

I also like that he grew up watching THREE'S COMPANY, CHEERS and so forth.

Making the way in the world today..........takes everything you've got..............

Maybe B25's theme song will have a catchy jingle that generations will remember.
Yep anyone who grew up with AVTAK and THREE’S COMPANY and CHEERS and enjoyed them is alriiight in my book!!!

B25 should end with Tim Dalton waking up and realising the last 25 years were all a dream.
End? It should begin like that!

I also disagree that the director should just shoot the script. I want to see an artistic vision of a filmmaker working in concert with others. I love film and the last thing I want is an anonymous homogeneous product. Why would I waste my time watching that when there are a ton of other films with personality I’d rather watch.
Why on earth would a film be an anonymous homogenous product if the director worked from a script he didn´t participate in developing? Shouldn´t a director´s style be visible no matter what scipt he realises? And doesn´t a good writer anyhow preclude a film from being anonymous homogenous?
I´m not saying films should be done like that. But professional film makers should also be able to work like that, if the circumstances demand it.

The freckled DAF kid who obviously had just stepped off the BRADY BUNCH set is probably the most iconic of all Bond kids! I mean Jill St. John even told him to blow up his pants! :) That’s gotta count for something!

Slightly off topic, Kevin Feige gives and shows respect to Albert Broccoli and the Bond franchise as he accepts his award At the Britannia awards...

I am reminded of just how much I love DAF, in all its splendid stupidity. I haven’t seen it in a long while, gonna throw it on tonight.

I wish, Timonthy is my all time favorite bond. His eyes screams Bond..James Bond but as M said and I quote- We are not now that strength which in old days moved Earth and heaven.

Speaking of M ....Timothy Dalton as M right after Dame Judi Dench : a missed opportunity ?
Dalton's M subtly reminding to Bond he was on the field some years ago ... THAT seems real :D

The Chief, in The tourist (2010), seems to be the closest M type character he has played

Would have loved to see Tim going back to 007 movies that way

You think that he beats out the "20,000 bahts" kid?
You have a point there. That “baht” kid is numero uno! The DAF kid is #2 then. :)

Dalton could have played Bond into the 2000s , with a little help with the hair. ;)

No. We can't have any ex Bonds making cameo's. Far too distracting. Plus it will just remind us all of simpler times.

Codename theory. Let's worry about that, first. We can't have that flailing around like an impetuous flag.

No Dalton and no codename theory, end of.

    Next discussion ?

Screw M. Dalton would make a perfect Bond. Right up until now, and every two years since 1989.

But right you are, next discussion.

Okay back to discussion, will fukanga make rough action pieces like car, bike, helicopter chase we saw in QOS but with better editing or back to basic approach like CR. From that interview it seems like we are up for something like CR as he said "going to the original source and being able to play in the sandbox"

I'd love another QoS but with CR's subtlety and balance.

He's got the biggest of sandboxes to play. Knowing his strengths, he'll cross the Nefud if he has to. It'll be fun times, no doubt.

Now that Sony isn't distributing the film your wish may come true about no cellphones.
