  Yes, classic stories are retold all the time.
  Understand the attachment to the original and the trepidation for a new one, still there's always the chance for greatness. As with Bond films.

  It's not so much stomping on some sort of legacy the original had, I'm just surprised they're still giving it a go after all these years, with countless directors and actors lined up who are always bailing eventually.

  The plot: Dwayne Johnson plays former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Ford, who now assesses security for skyscrapers. On assignment in China he finds the tallest, safest building in the world suddenly ablaze, and he’s been framed for it. A wanted man on the run, Will must find those responsible, clear his name and somehow rescue his family who is trapped inside the building…above the fire line.

  Towering Inferno and Die Hard are among my favourite films, so Skyscraper is definitely something I'm interested in seeing. I'm a sucker for death and destruction in high rises (loved the Shanghai bits in SF too).
  
  I don't want to spoil The Snowman so will avoid any future trailers.

  I really want to see The Snowman. Looking to be one of the best horror films of the decade I think. I rarely get excited about new horror films.

  The plot: A former Naval captain and expert diver, Jonas Taylor (Statham), is recruited for a deep-sea mission to rescue Chinese scientists under attack from the 70-foot white shark, named Carcharodon megalodon.

  Meg could be really good, but I truly hope they don't screw up the f/x. I've seen enough rubbish cgi sharks to last me a lifetime.

  @bondjames The film has a budget of $150 million. The only films Statham has appeared in to have budgets of over $100 million are the Expendables and the Fast & Furious outings.
