    I'm ready for a Continental GT V8.
No, for me that's a car Mr. White would be driving, not Bond.

My first thought was? "Wow that looks like an AM!" I like the idea of Bond in a Jaguar! But it needs to look beefier and more intimidating for me. Like the V8 Vantage from TLD! Awesome looking machine!

As for the non-car gadgets, just stick to the standard GPS systems and the like.

I thought we're going have "Bond with a capital B," not QUANTUM OF SOLACE Mk. II. Bring back the imaginative lethal gadgets, not the stuff I could order on Amazon.

I can see where you are coming from. I don't see them going over the top with the gadgets for some reason? I think we will have more familiar Bond elements like GB at the start of the film, familiar charactor's, the Bond theme in the movie( As a guess during the DB5 chase IF? it is a chase?). Maybe even a major lair?

I found your thought about the lair very interesting and started a thread of it's own about it:

"Bond with a capital B" with everything minus the car gadgets. ;) I can't see them going there, in today's times, at least. A decent car chase with good editing would be enough to put it above what we got in Quantum Of Solace - it was that bad.

New footage of SF shooting shows Bond in a Range Rover Vogue SE again - but still only in the backseat as it seems.
Check out the photos of the stunt driver on the roof! I never knew they did it like this!!!

That Honda in YOLT was sexy and the whistle blower was good in TMWTGG. Change is good. A jag or a Nissan skyline, oh yes Skyline for Skyfall the car that won't Skyfail 007. tenuous marketing blurb. Love it.

I thought 2 Toyota was use in You only Live twice & the American car brand AMC were use in The Man with the golden gun. 1 of them was driven by Bond & Roger Moore did his own stunt in that scene, You got it all wrong.

If not not an Aston Martin, My guest it could be The Range Rover Evoque. @Jaguar 007 I hope it could that 2 seater Jaguar. Every month nothing new come up. So we should say to Eon, Come on Eon tell what James Actual Company car is. It should announce by now.

I'd like to see the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish make a reappearance, minus the silly invisible camoflauge of course.

I don't think they want to resurrect any memoirs of DAD in SkyFall.

I think the Vanquish is the best looking Aston Martin personally.

Good someone brought this thread back to life! I had almost forgotten!
Well, still no sign for Bond getting another car in SF except the DB5.
But as I have written in the SF photo thread, there seems to be proof that he will be driving a Jag XJ at some time of the movie at least:

"British racing car driver Ben Collins, better known to "Top Gear" fans as The Stig, is back in the employment of James Bond. The driver was seen behind the wheel on location with the "Skyfall" production team in London dressed in the same outfit as Bond."
    london_feb07.jpg
This obviously means that he is doubling for Bond in that scene. As he seems to be sitting in an Jag XJ like the ones we have seen during the shooting 'round Trinity Sq and it's the same outfit that DC wore during those scenes it seems to be the first proof, that Bond actually does drive that Jag in those scenes!

  • Bond should nick a Ford Fiesta and screw the tits off it round London!!! you laugh, but the best chase scene in recent times was Bourne in the mini round Paris.

True, though there was the news that stunt drivers had went to Shanghai for filming on the motorways there. I doubt it will be a major scene as there was only 3 days of filming, but Jaguar may have provided the new Jag 2 seater or XFR or something.

We also still don't know for sure what the silver Land Rover Defenders are for!

Shirlz00 - Like the idea of that, it's a while since Bond commandeered an "ordinary" car, though could that be the case with the Beetles in Turkey?
  • Looks like my dream of having 007 behind the wheel of a Jag (in a movie) is finally going to happen :)

Love that C-X16, a beauty. Agrees more with me than that recent new look they have for their X-S-XJ replacements. But it's quite the AM look really, they should consider a merger there.

This Jaguar does look nice. I don't mind Bond hijacking cars either! Seeing him do spur of the moment things and using his skills would be most welcome!

As long as he doesn't drive a Subaru, I'm happy. (Or anything of the sort)
  • I'm beginning to wonder, given the way things are panning out, if there will actually only be the Black XJ and Bond's own DB5, given the amount of driving he's done, (London to Scotland in one night), I think we'd of seen a new Bond car by now...

Yep you could be right there? Perhaps also the use of one of those VW Beetles?

I had the same thougt. Right now it looks as if the only real Bond car in SF will be the DB5. As long as it is really widely featured (not just as a reminiscence for one scene) that's perfectly fine with me. Actually it's quite cool!
And it makes perfect sense, because honestly speaking: why does Bond always get fitted out with a brand new 200 grand sports car on tax payers expenses?! Yeah, to fit his cover story - like in CR. Where he arrived with his "fiance" by train but then that DBS was waiting for him in front of the hotel... And after wracking that silver DBS in CR, there was absolutely no need for giving him a new black one at the beginning at QoS!
So it's believable if he only gets to drive an MI6 owned Jag (probably M's limousine) and later switches into his private vintage DB5 - which he has won in that poker game in CR.

Speaking of those VW Beetles: I really don't know what they might be good for. In Bond's tradition it would be a classic car for a Bond girl to pick him up with, but on the other hand someone mentioned that those were not the new generation of Beetle but old ones. And if they would feature a car like that Ford Camille drove in QoS it would be a brand new type for sure as a product placement, of course.
Maybe they are just to be blown up???

I never expected to see Bond in a citroen 2CV ;) So he may just be commandeering one for a persuit or escape?

I liked the DB5 in Casino Royale, and I'm glad the the most memorable Bond car is returning in the 50th anniversary. Just hope it's included in a way that isn't too pointless/obvious.

It worked in CR because of the gag about him winning it in a card game - a nice touch. Now though he can leave it in the garage IMO.

It's a shame Bourne beat Bond to it. A Mini chase round London could have been good. Still, I think there would be lots of potential in a chase using a London taxi - perhaps including confused/bemused tourist on the back seat. Or is that to Moore-esque?

Not sure I'd believe that just yet...
