  • Definitely something up with Clinton. Pneumonia yet she was kissing and hugging people? It's highly contagious. And does it really make you all wobbly and unable to stand. First overheating, now pneumonia. It's just lies.

Could be drink as you say @Iguanna. Whatever it is she's lying.

Oh please. That old line was exposed for the weak sauce that it is months ago. Don't you have anything that wasn't trashed and forgotten months ago? Come on, @scaramanga12 "Comte" -- you can do better than that!

What was it Beatles said......'takes one to know one'

    Still questions to answer

  • @Beatles also said: "Be truthful or begone." I thought you'd been banished, @scarmanga12. Up to your old trollish behavior I see. When you get banished again, please take a clue for your NEXT incarnation: don't use another villain's name as your handle. Maybe if you pattern yourself after someone sympathetic, you might learn to conduct yourself in a more sympathetic fashion as well. Oh, Mods....

There's nothing trollish about that video which @Comte_de_Bleuchamp posted, and I don't see anything wrong with him posting it. This was supposed to be allergies, then overheating and now pneumonia. According to the candidate herself, she has had a 'couple' of these episodes before and 'she's aware of it'.

This thread is obviously going to get more heated as the polls continue to tighten (as expected) and further revelations occur about both candidates. Hopefully people can behave themselves and not name call other members.

At the end of the day, we know each other (as well as we can know each other on an anonymous forum) and none of us know these candidates. I think it would be preferable if we direct our comments here to the candidates and not at each other.
  • The alleged Comte was outed as @scaramanga12 --who had been banished previously for trollish behavior -- on another thread. I was simply reminding those of us who've been paying attention.

In private conversations, I have fully identified myself to other participants in this thread. They know who I am, where I live, and what I do. While I appreciate your intent, I doubt that placing our questions directly to Hillary or to Donald will elicit any response. Therefore, we can only converse with each other. I am perfectly happy to engage politely with those such as yourself, who extend me that same courtesy.

@BeatlesSansEarmuffs, I commit to extending you that courtesy, as this thread inevitably continues to heat up in the months ahead.

Trump continues his campaign of deceit. He taped his appearance with Dr. Oz just an hour or so(Wed.) where he was to release his most recent medical exam. It will air on Thurs(the 15th) in the U.S. but it's always good to get a sneak preview. I had at least 4 peeps in the audience. What Trump released was a one page summary-very little details. He clocks in at 267 lbs. Claims he hasn't been in a hospital since he was a kid. Dr. Bornstein(yup that wacky crazy guy) did the exam, but no one can say what the exact time of the exam was, as you know that pesky press corps follows him around. Ivanka appeared on the show, as that's what she does now.

Dr. Oz is a snake oil salesman who has been sued repeatedly for endorsing products on his show that have been proven to be as helpful as a sugar pill. He has admitted that some products he claims to use himself, he does not but that shouldn't stop anyone for trying it. Anyone feel like this is not a reliable nor credible source. But he's a tv personality and Trump knows what that means.

We will never get the real medical exam, just like his tax returns. He has things to hide and secrets to be kept hidden.

What is this dog and pony show? We're comparing doctor's reports now? Forget policy and presidential plans, right?

Imagine if Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas ignored the needs of the people during their big election and instead paid for both their primary physicians to come to every debate they had to compare health stats against one another.

"Mr. Lincoln has a fine heart, steady breathing and sports a thrice improved lung capacity that exceeds that of over three-quarters of the men his age," would say Abe's doctor.

Douglas' physician would pop in seconds after. "Well, Mr. Douglas can match Mr. Lincoln on all such counts. Not only is his heart healthier, his breathing steadier and his lung capacity utterly remarkable, his Sunday runs round the Potomac have only served to firm his muscles and increase his life span exponentially. He is the steel cage that holds the tiger, the heat that melts the steel, the lubricant that greases all gears. He is the president for you."

I've never before seen such a purposeful intention to focus on anything but policy and what actually matters in an election before. Elections have become more like reality television than ever before, and we'll pay for allowing this to occur very soon.

What's the saying? "We get the world we deserve." And so shall we.
  • As @Gustav_Graves noted a few days ago, Franklin Delano Roosevelt -- clearly the most important President of the 20th Century -- would have been disqualified in the presidential sweepstakes long before reaching the office under the current rules of engagement. I blame modern journalists for focusing on the petty stuff while not asking enough questions about things like, oh, say -- Trump's financial ties to Russian interests. Now THAT'S something that means a lot more than whether or not either candidate could run around the average American block in the space of a day or so...
  • Why, bless my soul! Somebody IS asking the tough questions on the above topic. Who'd a thunk it?

These are valid concerns and Trump will need to have a mechanism to properly ring fence himself from the organization should he win, to prevent conflicts of interest. The same sort of thing would have affected Kerry had he won (due to Teresa Heinz).
  • It's funny........that the movement of the polls brings back and brings out certain forummembers in here :-).

Speaking for myself, I just periodically come in here to question humanity's existence and extreme thick-headedness, like today, for example. Whether or not these moments line up with polls or other meaningless data is purely coincidental.

If you happen to be referring to me, it has nothing to do with the polls but more the timing.

August was a slow month and the news just churned. The campaigns traditionally kick into high gear on Labour day. We are less than two weeks away from the first debate, which has the potential to be a game changer.

I said my farewell a few weeks back and indicated that the debates were the next big event. I just didn't expect a fall to grab the headlines prior to that.

The polls will go up, and they will go down. It's just a game. Only one poll really counts, and it's in less than two months.
  • So according to Trump’s son they’re not going to release the tax returns because that would just lead to the voters asking questions they’d rather not answer. And yet, according to Trump’s designated blonde (because “See? He hires women too!”) Hillary’s the one with a transparency problem. Hillary’s “deplorables” remark is an issue because Trump’s campaign has been all about bringing the racists out of the closet & into the mainstream of American politics where they should have been all along. How can that possibly be deplorable? And let’s not forget: Donnie’s buddies, the Russians, have hacked Colin Powell’s emails too. (When are we going to see their copies of the RNC’s emails?) Colin thinks Donnie’s an international embarrassment but he’s not going to vote for Hillary either because…well, Bill is Bill and he’s always going to be Bill. And this election continues to chug its merry way through the Bizarro Universe where up is down, charitable Foundations that actually DO good works must be destroyed, and casino owners are paragons of morality. Have I missed anything here? Probably, but wait until the debates to let me know about it…

My only political comment right now is that I'm working on a model of the Seaview.
    Because modeling makes sense.... :-B
  • That icon you've used looks like he's getting into the glue...

Where did you get the Seaview model? I remember Aurora made one back in the day...

Provide evidence for your claim, foul debaser. Be truthful or begone. :)

Or are we allowed to surmise on appearances only when it suits you?
