    Lord knows I find the current consensus baffling. But then I'm still confused by the significant portion of Bond fans who adore Thunderball, so it could well stay near the top for many people.

    I keep THUNDERBALL in my Top Ten. It is not as strong as it's predecessors, but it does contain the best dialogue in the series, and Connery give his last great performance.

    @Birdleson we are dinosaurs here. My Son appreciates the past in film (mainly because I put on older s**t all the time) but times are changing... SP is a glance at the past...

    If some of the things I disliked weren't there, it could easily be a top 6 film for me. Most of the sequences I liked were the inventive ones (pretitles, funeral, needle, Moroccan hotel, train etc.). The ones I didn't like were the ones that evoked the past (clinic, meet where Hinx was introduced, villain HQ etc.) because they seemed a little derivative (although they tried to make them fresh).

    I'll see it one more time in the theatre (ranking probably won't change at that point) and then see how I feel in 6 months or so, after the blu ray release. It may all look better on the small screen (like QoS did for me).

    My calculation is this.

    Spectre gets 344 points after 41 rankings, 8.39
    Skyfall gets 352 points after 41 rankings, 8.58

    I'm giving 24 points to 1st and 1 point to 24th, whereas you are doing it the other way

    I've rounded my average/medians, I've got average of 8.76 for SP and 8.39 for SF
    Median is SF 6, SP 8

    Terrible soundtrack! But the movie itself is 10000000000000 light years better than Brosnan bond films imo! Walked out of his goldeneye!

    As a Bond fan, how could you walk out of GE? I'm no advocate of Brosnan but he still was an 'ok' Bond. GE was his best film too. I guess you never even showed for DAD based on this.

    Well I did walk out!! It was pure pile of crap with crap song crap soundtrack and crap imitation bond!! I did enjoy the game though! As for the rest of his miovies, when I saw their posters on the entertainment guide of one of our local newspapers I thought that perhaps it's better to witness my grandma getting raped!!

    I'm not exactly the biggest Brosnan supporter, but I'm sorry to hear this....truly. It must have been difficult for you.

    GE was one of my best experiences in a cinema ever. I was almost in tears of joy. Sadly, my Bond experiences declined since then until 2006.

    @haserot we seem to be similar in our tastes. A few discrepancies but overall that's a list and ranking I can't find much fault with.

    The last act won't stand up very well but I think there's a lot of good in the first hour of the film. The meeting with Spectre for instance is very well done and could possibly be one of the best scenes in the Craig era.

    It may seem harsh, in regards to SP, but it has actually improved with my last viewing. Though it's at the bottom, it is a Bond film and I have to love it for that in some capacity. Just less than the others. Even at it's best it tends to bring me down.

    So, you reckon QOS a film that was barely watchable, had virtually no story, weak characters, is 13 places above SP?

    It is so easy to pick a top and a bottom but placing the other films and where to rank them is rather dicey. I like SPECTRE and I may go see it on the big screen once more before the DVD comes out.

    I daresay it is not as good as CR or SF but a very solid (and like we used to say in the seventies) uptight, outta sight.

    The first act of this picture is in my opinion magnificent, the rest becomes a good but not great Bond film, which is still fun.

    As of now, for me it's behind Skyfall but still in a fairly good area. I think it's something of an above-average entry.

    Even now that the dust has settled a bit I'd still rank it around the same as I did the day after seeing it - 8th.

    I really do think it is almost a great Bondfilm. Just a shame it suffered from having the same creative team as SF... otherwise it may well have ranked higher for me.

    I'm still not sure where I'd put it in my full ranking, as I want to do a proper, straight-through Bondathon in a few months once it's out and I've seen it a few more times. The novelty has most certainly worn off for me and the minor nuisances and complaints stand out more, but it's still Top 10 for me.

    I'll have to watch this movie again, and soon, but as soon as they hit tangiers the story loses it's intensity and I start to question stuff, like a hotel that has a spare room that it is unaware of for a decade.

    The pre-credits sequence, the opening scene with M/C, the whole sequence in Rome, the plane chase, confrontation with Mr. White, fight with Hinx,waiting for the Rolls, meeting Blofeld, torture scene, Driving off with Madeleine. Sorry, couldn't disagree more with you!
