    There is definitely some agenda going on with this kind of attack.     The Forbes review is the one that seems like bashing. The others so far are spinning negative, but they are reasonably justified arguments being put forward (at least it seems so).

    Let's see how it plays out over the next couple of days.

    I had a feeling this would happen, but only from reading the UK reviews, which although they were quite positive (numerically), did mention (but somewhat glossed over and weren't too concerned about) the same things that the US seems to be fixating on.

    My point is, from the UK reviews, and from fan comments on our site, I could see that the ammunition was there in the film to bash, if one wanted to go down this path. The nararitve writes itself in a way.

    I had a similar feeling. But even then.........

    The Forbes review has a touch of the attention seeker about it. The title looks to be deliberately controversial or provoking. However, this comment has been mentioned in other reviews:
    The notion of a real world 007 film combined with a somewhat over-the-top Roger Moore-ish entry doesn’t remotely gel

    so it depends if you want to see that sort of Bond film. I'm sure some fans and critics would moan if SPECTRE was identical to Skyfall so it's impossible to please all.

    That explanation sounds 144% like what I want to see. I feel like SP may blow me away out of nowhere.

    It's disheartening for sure, but I'm still excited as I've ever been. I'm glad Craig will get his OTT Bond film, even if it's not my style personally (no matter how much I love TSWLM). It'll be very interesting to see what happens with Bond 25

    At the end of the day all that matters is that I like the movie but I admit it would bother me if it wouldn't deliver at the Box Office or would generally be regarded as being mediocre if I feel differently.

    Here are the exact words from the forbes review:

    Come what may, Die Another Day (not my favorite Bond movie and the last outright bad one) was a zippier entertainment with a decent first act and at least tried to play with the formula a bit.

    It didn't so much play with the formula as it did take a giant dump on it.

    Just finished reading the very long and detailed Forbes review.

    First, if you haven't seen SP don't read it!

    I'm shocked about this review, while it is accurately describing the movie in many places, it almost always comes to the wrong conclusion.
    It's almost as if the reviewer just decided to dislike the movie and trying to construct arguments around that decision.

    The difference is that this 'full English' does not fill you up so you don't want to eat for the rest of the day, but in contrast makes you beg for more!

    I haven't read all of it but didn't he also hint that SP was essentially "SF 2"? which couldn't be further from the truth.

    She has excellent taste in her ranking but I don't agree with a lot of what she said in this video

    Don't know if its been mentioned here.......but there was a review of SP from the American publication 'Forbes', saying the film was the worst Bond film in 30 years.

    I certainly don't agree with that..........but one thing i did agree with, was that the reviewer said that Martin Campbell needs to come back to direct the next Bond!

    btw:- the DCinB crowd are celebrating every percentage drop of SP at RottenTomatoes, how sad they are?

    A disgrace to Bond fans everywhere. At least people like The Major show dignity and class in their dislike of the era. Everyone revels in a little schadenfreude from time to time, but these guys have mental health problems.

    @RC7 your "full breakfast" is the best analogy I've read on here.

    Too damned right! Some things are established well loved timeless favourites for a reason: other alternatives may be ok once in a while but originals are timeless and can't be bettered for the simple reason they're perfect and can't be messed about with!

    I'd love a second new serving and can't wait for news of its arrival!
