Yes....i was referring to the DanielCraigisnotBond site.

Most of them are actually OK, and have no problem accept opposing views.........but there are some who clearly have issues, and will search the internet to find every negative aspect on the DC era of Bond!

@RC7 your "full breakfast" is the best analogy I've read on here.

Too damned right! Some things are established well loved timeless favourites for a reason: other alternatives may be ok once in a while but originals are timeless and can't be bettered for the simple reason they're perfect and can't be messed about with!

I'd love a second new serving and can't wait for news of its arrival!

I'm just off to my 4th viewing and I'm hungry!

    My third Thursday!!

@RC7 My previous post went all scatty as I tried typing it (on my very rain soaked phone) which distracted me and allowed some toe curling repetition - you get the general idea anyhow.

Does anyone else have issues with setting comments as the auto drafts save seems to trip itself as well as my typing too?

@RC7 Spectre needs more space between the egg and the beans. Use a sausage as a breakwater.

Grace Randolph, one of the most popular online critics seems to have liked it quite a bit and names it as her 2nd favorite Craig installment after Casino Royale in her spoiler review.

She has excellent taste in her ranking but I don't agree with a lot of what she said in this video

I really like her review ...I may not agree with her take on two of the antagonists but I totally agree with her take and the mindset she viewed the film.

And that lack of mindset is I believe US critics aren't getting it. I hope though the audience does.

Also she is really hot so I've watched this clip repeatedly.

Oh dear..........the DCinB have moles here, and have responded to the comments by members here!

  • I read that Forbes review. It saddens me how journalism has changed in this social media-era. I bet Forbes doesn't give a rat's ass if they indulge completely in those -illegaly obtained- SonyLeaks. It seems there are still Elliot Carver's on this planet who just use headlines to create havoc. Sad sad man that Mendelsohn.

Has this reviewer ever seen Die Another Day?...........clearly the reviewer was just trying to get his name known!

They make real women ? Now that's some kind of weird science ! :D
  • I think...we Bond fans need to stick together in these difficult times....where the SonyLeaks are still haunting us like the ghost of "SPECTRE" :D ;-). Just a joke in between :-).

The US critics don't seem too warm on Spectre, the tomatometer has taken a big hit. This probably won't influence dedicated fans like us, but the general audience may put more stock into their criticisms.

4th viewing of Spectre? Wow... :)
I've seen it at the premiere and it opens officially this Thursday when I will see it the second time with my army buddies and on Saturday I'll see it the third time with my wife (it's her Birthday!).
Not sure I'll see it a fourth time, maybe in December I'll watch it again.

Maybe those that love SP and could vote favourably on RT are too busy sat in their nearest IMAX theatre getting another fix?

The American critics have really taken the knives out for the film, especially when compared to how warmly it was embraced by the high-brow British critics.

This is worrying. I hope its Rotten Tomatoes scores can hit 70%, the film and Mendes deserve it.

The more important rating is the one on the right hand side at Rotten Tomatoes, ie the rating by the audience,,,,,,,,,which is noticeably higher than the critics rating.

Yes, the critics rating could have an effect on the film..........in North America, but not elsewhere.

Some of the British reviews are just too full of praise and sound like a commercial. That should not be denied. Maybe the Americans didn't react well to that kind of "patriotism".

The ratings of one movie can be debated, but the gap between SP and CR is ridiculous as CR is not overrated (IMHO).

I stay away from those threads too for the most part as I want to see it a second time first, to form my own opinion on it. Only seeing it once, isn't enough for me to judge it.
After Saturday when I have seen it three times, I will gladly post my detailed opinion.

Let me just say this. Anyone who claims Spectre is not an enjoyable movie has a screw loose :)

I don't think these people like us judging by the comment i saw at DCinB!

"To Mepal 1 and RC7 from MI6, keep lurking here more often, you moronic EON parasites. Maybe you will learn something constructive here. You accept ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING that EVERYTHING OR NOTHING shovels down your collective throats :! ECHHHHHHHHHHHHH-TRE is in fact the correct title to this humiliating product Broccoli totally approved of :!: Cr-egg is a disgrace to the role and should be replaced at once :!: BRO-feld is Bond's step brother from childhood? Any you accept this premise as a Bond fan? Close up your forum, go back to kissing Broccoli's rear end, and maybe some day you will all wake up and realize that this was all a nightmare to be forgotten".
  • I haven't seen Spectre myself yet, so following the course of these reviews and trying not to get spoiled has been QUITE interesting so far. Everything I've read just makes me more and more certain that I will enjoy the movie greatly. The negativity seems to mostly stem from misplaced expectations rather than poor execution. It's still a bit disheartening seeing it continuously drop on RT, but it's doing rather well with the top critics and on metacritics. Even Roeper gave it a good review: http://entertainment.suntimes.com/movies/spectre-review-daniel-craig-ease-imperfect-james-bond/.

I have a feeling if Roger Ebert was still alive, he would have loved it as well. Especially after this remark in his Quantum of Solace review:"Please understand: James Bond is not an action hero! He is too good for that. He is an attitude. Violence for him is an annoyance. He exists for the foreplay and the cigarette. He rarely encounters a truly evil villain. More often a comic opera buffoon with hired goons in matching jump suits."

I'm not sure what people are expecting out of Spectre, but clearly it's something Bond has never been nor should be, so far it seems to deliver exactly what fans old and new have been wanting all this time.

For some reason, my message was posted twice. So instead of having two copies here, I'll instead use this space as an excuse to post a picture of Madeleine Swann, because why not? wenn22161716_113_983_3.jpg
