There's no easy way to answer this... I hate this question. Jim Carey many years ago is high on my list, but I can't definitively say he's my favorite of all time.

Jim Carrey did some of the best comedies of the nineties.

LIAR LIAR is in my Top 10 of best comedies ever.

My upmost favourite comedy of all time is FIERCE CREATURES

Another one is DEATH AT A FUNERAL also in my Top 10 best comedies list.

Army Of Darkness is a comic masterpiece IMO.

Jim Carrey is up there. He should stick to comedy. Not a bad serious actor, but as a comedian he is gold.

Good to see another appreciator of this fine story. Have you seen the UK or US version? They both star Peter Dinklage in the same role.

My viewing of the Dumb And Dumber sequel disagrees with you, @Thunderfinger. :-)

OMG I didn't even know there was a US version....is it any good??

Of course the one I mean is the UK movie with fantastic Alan Tudyk and Matthew Macfadyen :D

Because there shouldn't have been a sequel.

How could I have forgotten Leslie Neilson?

It's good and has a decent cast including Chris Rock and Danny Glover, although I think overall the UK one is funnier. Alan Tudyk's facial expressions are awesome.

For me it's Leslie Nielsen. I find his voice alone hilarious.

Very difficult, Leslie Philips, Sid James are two favourites, there's Jim Carrey and Eddie Murphy (in his earlier days though). My favourite is,as above, the great Leslie Nielsen.

Nielsen did a lot of crap in his later years but in Airplane, The Naked Gun films he never fails to have me cracking up.

I do like Michael Crawford as Frank Spencer too.

I used to enjoy that when I was younger but I saw it again on Netflix last year and its not very good.

Basil Fawlty is one of the funniest men ever. I have worked in a hotel, so I can relate.

Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Michael Palin, in no particular order.
Robin Williams was the funniest man on the planet when he was on it, but as an actor, I´m not sure if qualifies as the funniest.
