I knew it! :D that they'd use exactly that variation of the DUN DUN DUN with the logo at the end!

Okay, I just saw it and I very much liked it! My mind is working overtime now, contemplating what I just saw. I think I can figure a few things out but I’m still not going to seek confirmation in any of that leaked stuff. I guess I’ll have to wait several more months. ;-)

That was a pleasant surprise was just browsing YouTube and it appeared on home page. I love it, not forgetting it is just a teaser. And finally good to here the James Bond theme again, its been under used in the Craig era.

Glad to see most others here enjoyed it. It's a perfect teaser; intrigue plentiful, action saved, ominous feel - it's just great. I want more XD

Indeed, exactly what a teaser should be.

I'm curious how the causal viewer will react to it. This seems more aimed at Bond fans who have some understanding of Bond's past. Fitting considering Mendes said during the SPECTRE announcement, “Those of you who have some knowledge of the Bond franchise and the legend of Bond will probably have some idea of what that refers to, but I couldn’t possibly comment."

    Edit:

    With that said...

I follow comicbook.com's facebook page and they just posted the trailer. Typically their followers complain about everything under the sun but so far the comments seem to be pretty positive, very positive in fact.

    Legal Guardian: Charmain Bond
    Temporary Guardian: Hannes Oberhauser

    :D

Charmain is now in the Film Bond canon!

Yes I noticed that too. Nice to see Auntie Charmain get a nod. Similar to the reference in AVTAK. Snippets of Fleming popping up are always welcome.

    Can I swear ?

    HOLY F HOLY F HOLY F !

    THIS TEASER IS GENIUS !

I WAS SO MAD IT ENDED CAUSE I WANTED MORE ! I SWORE AT MY SCREEN WHEN IT ENDED..THIS IS HOW YOU DO A TEASER !

This is continuation of SkyFall,CR and QoS and yet it has a individual thing of its own...holy crap ! This looks great !

Waltz in the shadow was genius ! We still don't know if he will be Blofeld or not..

I still find it weird that a picture can survive SkyFall though...does anyone else is bothered by this ?

Bellucci looks amazing in that one shot, she might stole the show..

I LOVE THE EERIE THEME AT THE END...

And I still have no idea why Bond would go in a room with many people (the ending with Waltz) who might be the enemy..why can't they just kill him then if they are bad ? Is Waltz a father figure to young Bond ? Where is Moriarty (I cant' remember his name) in all of this ? Where is Madeline Swann ? Damnit this teaser is perfect for teasing....

9.9/10 I am still bugged by the picture thing as that is what connects SF and SPECTRE it seems..the ring looks great as well..Mr.White looks like a Zombie and I loved it !

Oh damnit this will be a long wait till November..

Any info about the release of the next trailer (not teaser) ? June ? July ? What is the next big MGM/Sony movie that will be released this year ?

This looks amazing....and they have shown 0 (ZERO!) action scenes.... I LOVE THIS TEASER SO MUCH !

I got goosebumps when I saw! DIdn't get that with CR,QofS or SF!! Yes for a teaser with no action, this got me. Someone mentioned dark...too right. Cant wait till May (i'm guessing) to see the full length one with the new bond song.

Had to sneak into the restroom at work to watch this. Wow! Everything is shaping up nicely
  • The only real default is that it was premiered in a TV show about One Direction's lineup and Katty Perry wardrobe. I'm frankly puzzled, did the Sony marketing watch the teaser ?

I love the table scene. Waltz commands a great presence.

Waltz only has one line, but the way he chews over every word ("Welcome, Jamesss....") hints that we're in for a classic villain here.

Very dark and moody, not like any bond trailer I've ever seen before, but certainly very intersting the way it plays out!

If the film is that dark and littered with that much yummy dialogue, then count me in. Looks good, but I don't want to judge it as a whole until I see more footage and whatnot.

I watched it once (as soon as someone posted it in this thread), and that's it for me. Not wearing myself out like I did with SF's promo. No more footage for me until the trailer is released in a few months.

Best moment are FRWL refence with Mr White and bell 007 theme.

    FRWL reference???

Like everyone else, I've been counting the days until today's trailer release. My patient anticipation was rewarded with quite an intriguing teaser trailer. I have to say that while the dialogue was crisp & fresh, the Spectre ring returned and that wide lake shot was stunning (albeit, fairly similar in feel to the opening of QOS with the low flight over water) the music in this trailer seems to be what was most compelling to me.
I know that the music is not Newman's own and is not soundtrack, but I LOVED the 'flatness', just after the Mr. White scene. Furthermore, the frantic crescendo just after the end gunshot, leading into the traditional bond theme was terrific. The 'bond-theme on bell' so brilliantly complimented the Waltz scene in silhouette.

So, how long until teaser #2 or cinematic trailer #1? I'll get that countdown clock reset at once!

THE EERIE THEME AT THE END...with the dun dun dun dun played on xylophone, plugging at his childhood there right?

That almost had me in tears. What more could any Bond fan want? I've had to accept that, for the 6th time in 9 films, Bond is involved with a case that ties into his or M's past secrets. That would have been my only reservation, had I still had such illusions.

This is what I want. My major criticism of the Craig era, at first (maybe one of only a very few), was EON seeming to want to distance itself from Bond's past. Particularly in QOS (save for the two clear homages to great past moments). With SF, and now seemingly even more so with SP, we are going deep into the franchise's glorious past. Tying overlooked aspects of the short story OP into SPECTRE, we get the classic ring, we get the visual reference (red herring?) to the Blofeld of FRWL and TB, and we get apparent closure with QOS and Mr. White. If you are underwhelmed I don't know what the Hell will make you happy. This goddamned film is being made with a lot of thought and care given to US; the lifelong fans.

    Completely agree.

Excellent teaser trailer! Although I remember being more excited back in 2006, after watching the teaser trailer of CR, this one is easily the best teaser of the Craig era so far.

The screenplay and the footage in this trailer are poles apart, and by that I mean that after reading the script I thought there is no way Spectre can top Skyfall, but now I think it easily can. This is the magic of Sam Mendes.

Btw, it seems like there is a pretty good chance that the Bond series will get its second cinematography Oscar nomination a year from now. The cinematography of this film does look that good!

I didn't like it, didn't dislike it. I would have liked one action shot at the end just to make it feel like it's a Bond film. The teasers for MI 5, The Force Awakens went with strong action shots at the end. I feel SPECTRE needed something like that to give it more of a wow factor. However, Bond is Bond, people will go see SPECTRE with or without seeing this teaser so it's not a big deal. But I don't think this is a particularly strong teaser in terms of exciting casual film goers. A bit flat, perhaps.

I dislike the plot idea of Bond being Blofeld's SPOILER REMOVED! - so I'm not hugely excited by the direction of SPECTRE. I'd like Daniel Craig to do all his Bond films - five perhaps - and then recast the role and change the direction of the franchise. Move away from the dour angst-ridden "it's personal" plots and bring back a more debonair fun Bond. I accept I don't speak for the majority of Bond fans out there. I'm sure SPECTRE will be a huge hit but I do feel Bond and Blofeld being SPOILER REMOVED is a huge mistake.
  • How the heck did they get this much finished footage in three months worth of shooting?!

Seriously! Story arc and continuity? In the Bond franchise? This is so foreign but exactly what I wanted!

I have no words. That was much better than Skyfall's teaser in my opinion. The only thing that bothers me is why on earth have they kept the MI6 headquarters in rubble for 3 years? Unless that was a flashback. But that was the most incredible trailer I've ever seen. I love the line "You're a kite, dancing in a hurricane Mr. Bond." The score was fantastic as well.

Interesting to note: Apparently Bond was given guardianship to Charmain in 1983, at the age of 12, according to the trailer. Which would make him born in 1970-1971. This goes against his dossier on the Casino Royale website that said he was born in April 1968.
