    The poster seems..not that amazing..I expect something more exciting of the future posters..

    I'll be honest, I haven't seen 1 episode of the original series, but I am looking forward to this.. let's hope it will be a good movie that will make enough money to maybe spawn a...well if not a franchise atleast a trilogy ?

    It's funny you mention that because I was also getting a major 'Saint' vibe from the photos posted here. I love the 60's vibe, particularly the loud colours and patterns on Elizabeth & Alicia's dresses.

    Thanks for posting @MadeleineSwann. I did not realize this was a Guy Ritchie joint. I have new found enthusiasm for this film now.

    Looks great. Loving the stylishness of the whole thing (we definitely need movies with style these days - it's a "lost art").

    I still think Armie Hammer is badly cast though. Couldn't they have found a quality European actor rather than this uncharismatic joker feigning a Russian accent?

    Hmmm, interesting trailer. At moments it seems like old school spy movie, and at moments it seem like over the top movie with comedy elements...decent trailer, hopefully the movie will deliver.

    There are a couple of moments in this triler where Cavill sounds a lot like Christopher Reeve. This looks fun. I llove the 60's vibe.

    The trailer looks solid. Precisely what I've been expecting. Well, I am a fan of the original series, and yes it has a little-to-no resemblance with the flavours, but Solo's and Ilya's characters from what I see are pretty much the same, just a little uncensored with their behaviours than how Vaughn and McCallum played them. Last words? Waiting for the film like a madman. Guy Ritchie hardly disappoints. :D

    I am completely LOVING this trailer! All elements director Matthew Vaughn ("Kingsman") used to sell his film, can actually be watched in THIS film. I am sure of it. This looks an enjoyable but über-stylish and suave espionage thriller. The locations are wonderful. The hotel scenes ooze some "James Bond from the 1960's"-style. And actually, Henry Cavill's portrayal reminds me a bit of Robert Vaughn's version of Mr Solo: Suave, at times serious, but very funny as well.

    Now I call this film a potential competitor of James Bond.

    I truly love Henry Cavill as secret agent Napoleon Solo :-D! I wouldn't be surprised that after this film Mr Cavill is high on Barbara Broccoli's list to eventually -NOT NOW, because I adore Daniel Craig- become the 7th James Bond.

    Does look VERY interesting, by having it set in the original time period, they can really evoke the feeling of the Connery/Bond era without having to explicitly reference it plus touches like the helicopter are welcome. Plus the Austin Powers thing has died down so hopefully the audience wont be thinking "yeah baby!" when they see the whole sixties vibe. If this goes well, we could be seeing the launch of a massive new franchise.
    PS is that the Goodwood circuit?

    Those scenes from the Formula One circuit remind me a lot of another classic movie:

    Produced in 1966, it's still one of my favourite "racing" movies. It won 3 Oscars and it also features Adolfo Celi. And in a way, that classic movie reminded me of this other great racing film:

    Bond, (hence the reboot) once DC has gone, a new young Bond set in the sixties could offer some amazing new possibilities re scripts, visuals and tie ins to the early movies. Not sure they would ever do it (product placement would be tricky?) but it's an interesting concept.

    Trailer looks good. I realise that it's only a trailer, but the script sounds like they've paid attention to it. Cavill and Hammer seem a good pairing. Looks visually good. I'm looking forward to this.
    After Superman and now Uncle, I have to wonder what chances Cavill

    Wow! Great trailer. This looks like its going to be a fun and amazing movie. As a fan of the original series, I have high hopes for this and it looks like I'm going to be pleased. This is truly going to be a great year for the spy genre.

    Looking at the trailer I'm wondering whether Debicki's character Victoria will be a villain as she's been introduced in things I've read about the film or Solo's eventual love interest, seeing as Vikander's character Gaby will be the love interest of Illya by the looks of things.

    Oh man I LOVED Rush..it's a shame it did not get an Oscar nomination..Rush was my fave movie of last year..

    The films were taken from the series, with additional footage shot. So, in a sense, you have seen some of the original series just with different fonts for the credits.

    This being an origins film, set 1963, a full year before Uncle hit American TV screen, I guess we can excuse the missing Uncle touches such as the Del Floria secret headquarters entrance.
    I do hope this film gets the origins done with, and that Uncle be fully established by movie's end, so we can get full blown Uncle for next film.
    I am not a fan of origins films for film/tv franchises that are already established on screen,. eg Bond, Spidey, now Uncle.
    Its like putting the horse back in the barn, when its already in full gallop.
    Strange watching anything Uncle without the pounding theme song.
    I do not like Hammer's Russian accent. That is just awful. Hopefully, screenwriters can contrive to remove it as he settles into his Uncle agent role, based out of New York City HQ.
    They need to get back to the more neutral accent that McCallum had.

    I don't know what to make of Cavill claim that he never watched original series.
    If true, then that is simply non-sensical.
    Vaughn is the only reference for the character. Of course you watch his work.
    Vaughn is Solo.
    However, Cavill has caught Vaughn's Solo speech patterns, so whatever..... guess he must have snuck a look at a few episodes.
    Actor ego, I guess. "This is my original interpretation,not an imitation blah blah blah."

    But all told, looks great, but for Hammers horrible accent. Hope that doesn't ruin the film for fans of the series.
    We do desperately need the theme music, and for part two, Uncle Headquarters, with coloured triangle ID badges, Waverly's briefing room, Uncle girls marching about everywhere in '60s skirts, and do work the full-screen, big yellow-and-blue, TV Uncle logo, and opening credit stylings in somewhere.

    Good to see the gun. Solo and Kuryakin (despite accent) have nice light touch with the girls.

    Good start but I think I am more looking forward to part 2, to be named , The Ilya Loses His Awful Accent Affair.

    Good little primer here on the original series, with judicious use of theme music!

    Timmer, you, like myself, are fans of the original series and love all those things like UNCLE HQ, ID Badges etc but this is a new take on the material that's not headed toward those familiar elements from the old series. This is not geared toward the old fans, love it or hate it. I wouldn't hold your breath for hearing the old theme that the general public does not remember. I'm afraid you'll have to get used to the accent. The film captures the spirit of UNCLE but don't expect a copy of the old series in the way "Return of the Man fromU.N.C.L.E." tried to do.
