    It very well could have been a fake the entire time in DAF. That's what's easiest to believe for me, at least. I just wish they had given Connery a better send-off; definitely my least favorite of his six official ones. And on the Blofeld topic I had no issue with his death in FYEO; I loved that PTS. Sure Blofeld himself was a little silly, but the scene was well done and it tied up an important loose end.

    Same here. I love Moore's sadistic smile's as he picks Blofeld up with the Helicopter as he's about to finish him off. But he's going to have his fun and make fun of him in the process. Alright keep your hair on! Oh? You want to get off! DROP. May I remind you 007 that Blofeld is dead! Finished! ;)

    Yup I absolutely love that scene. I know a lot of people thought it was either silly or a stupid way to kill off Blofeld, but I thought it was terrific. It was a unique death and just an awesome scene from the graveyard to Blofeld's final demise.

    One of my favourite PTS's- and one of, it not my very earliest memory of watching Bond films. Just believing Bond's in a helicopter controlled by Blofeld is exciting enough for me. And then we have Bond at the grave site, rudely interrupted while he's paying his respects. But it's all worth the interruption in the end.

    Did anyone read the Derek Meddings interview? The work involved with that PTS alone makes me respect it more, and Meddings also said the helicopter pilot got the wheelchair in the chimney 3 times out of 3.

    I'm certainly glad to see more appreciation for it since I usually only see the opposite. FYEO is a solid Bond film, and the PTS really boosts it for me past some other Moore films.

    I saw the first eight Bond films as they came out and finally gave up on Bond and Bond films by the time of LALD. I prefer eating the popped corn as I watch a movie, but I don't want to see the 'corn' up there on the screen.

    Maybe I was more inclined to the kind of filmmaking that was beginning to emerge in the early seventies, and maybe I just couldn't appreciate Mr. Moore's take on the Bond character, not after so many episodes of Maverick and The Saint.

    I didn't come back until Timothy Dalton and couldn't complain about anything in either of his outings. And then it started all over again. Dalton should've done GE, etc, etc, etc.

    I didn't come back until Daniel Craig.

    And after SF, well, here we go again.

    QoB after the eexcellence of CR we got this unfinished product by a director unsuited for the franchise with a 2nd director and editor straigth from the Bourne movies doing exactly the same.

    SF after QoB it was never that hard to better the previous attempt, and it did but still left me wanting something better and different.

    As for the FYEO pts, absolutely love it as well. Apart from the dumb delicatessen remark, one of the best in the series.

    Biggest disappointment-GE. I was a bit skeptic towards Brosnan after the excellent Dalton, but read in the papers that he was the best Bond since Connery, and that the film got standing ovations in London. So I thought it could not be that bad, I have been wrong before. Well, turns out he was the worst since Nelson. And instead of giving it a standing ovation, I though of standing up to leave...

    Possibly. The novel is underrated, but then it was never going to adhere to the novel. LALD, and before it DAF, cherry-picked ideas and moments, and before that YOLT had basically air-lifted its literary equivalent and dropped it in the ocean. The novels had become secondary at this point. That's why I still think QoS is the biggest disappointment. It was, and was always intended to be, a direct sequel. No literary narratives to adhere to, but a cinematic follow-up, plain and simple. It hit some of the beats, no doubt, but for a film that an audience can hypothesise over like no other, it fell short. It's the most disappointing for me because CR teed it up, monumentally, and it was well equipped to knock it out of the park. Whichever way you cut it (and I think it's a decent effort) It was nowhere near a home run.

    We walked out of the showing of Moonraker all agreeing that we'd wasted our money and that we should have just gone to see The Warriors again instead.

    If we are looking at a cinematic disappointment,from when i started to watch Bond at the Cinema (OP 1983) then i would say QOS.
    DAD is not included here as i didnt see it at the cinema at all,the only one i have missed,so,i think,after the spectacle that was CR,my hopes were very high for QOS.I knew it would have to be an incredible Bond film to beat it but the very short running time made me a little dubious about it also.

    I watched it with my ex-wife and kids who had also seen CR (where it got a massive round of applause at the end of it ) and i could tell they were not impressed,as was i.

    There was no round of applause or comments from the audience throughout the showing and i left feeling a bit flat.And as i thought ,my family were not impressed.

    I find now watching it,that to me it's a Bond film that actually looks better on the small screen and it has grown on me a lot ,currently lying in 15th place on my list.

    Biggest disappointment for me was the Brosnan era (GE excepted). Thankfully, the damage was rectified in '06.

    That a movie this spectacularly good did not get the Barry score it so sorely deserved. :-<

    Funny enough, I watched the PTS with music from Judge Dredd. Really made Blofelds death much more spectacular.

    On Her Majesty's Secret Service is the most disappointing Bond movie of all time- Lazenby is an utter flop as 007, the movie drags out to eternity (especially in the middle), Savalas' Blofeld is anything but menacing, Tracey is simply annoying up until the end of the movie, and the soundtrack (except for the main theme) is entirely annoying. There are very, very few saving graces for this Bond outing.

    I really hate to pick a Bond movie I don't like because I really like them all but if I was forced to choose it would be between NSNA or OHMSS. I realize I may be crucified for mentioning the latter but I still find it hard accepting Lazenby as a Bond. Keep in mind I do like the movie but being forced to pick and all ....

    Any film that made out it would be a serious return to form, then threw it away with some silly rubbish. Starting with FYEO. Followed by NSNA. I think Connery's swansong is the biggest betrayal as Connery seemed to be in a Moore film without the amazing effects or stuntwork. I know some see DAF as silly, but Connery himself had more gravitas in that, plus there are some deadly serious moments in it (the lift fight), assisted by Barry's sublime score.
