Welcome, all new members! Hope you have fun on our threads.
    And nice avatar, @SMERSHed. :)

Agreed. Great avatar but surely in breach of copyright on here, no? ;-)
  • Thank you, @4EverBonded!

    "What a helpful chap."
  • Hello Everyone.

Not a new member but I stopped visiting the forums last year when Skyfall came out to avoid spoilers and I never had time to come back. Now I should be here to stay. Hope the discussion is as lively as ever.

It seems like just yesterday when I came in here feeling very nervy and nervous about the years ahead. A LOT of members and posts. Where do you start. Well my philorsorphy is Feel the Fear and do it anyway. So, feeling very nervy and anxious about the years ahead, I joined up. Picked a username and well here I am.

    About me
Bit of a Bond fan and noit as much knowledge as some of the real boffins here. Knew I was in for a real feast the moment I logged on back when Casino Royale came out and made me a life long fan.

About me? Trained as a youth worker as my passion, but in a sort of roundabout way became a business owner (don't ask!). Also do a lot of acting, singing and belief it or not puppeteering! I also keep a youth worker streak, a strong streak of youth work and counselling. I run four charities, and do a LOT of puppeteering work for kids shows, including KidZone events each summer. Not a great turnout to be frank at the puppet shows, pretty disappointing about 5-10 kids each show, but they have a real blast!!

    Bond focus
    My favourites?
    Bond: Daniel
Film: Casino Royale or even Skyfall
    Villian: Le Cheef
    Girl: Vespa
    Song: You Know My name

haven't seen too much older films, but liked what I saw of The World Is Not Enough. Looking forward to watching the films when I get some free time.

    Hey, I'm new.

17, from the UK. Big Bond fan - obviously :P.

Favourite Bond is probably Roger Moore; favourite film is possibly For Your Eyes Only, though I like most of them.

Got the complete Blu-ray set for Christmas so gonna watch them all again over the coming months.

Welcome, all new members, join in on the discussions!
  • Hi,
Haven't been a fan for all that long (maybe a year in total), but I have managed to get the family to sit through all the films up to Licence to Kill in order so far.
My favourite Bond is Dalton, favourite film is The Living Daylights, although Casino Royale (2006) and Licence to Kill come close.
My least favourite Bond is definitely dear old Roger, least favourite film TMWTGG.
I look forward to posting on the community.

    Hi,

Was a member on the old forums a good while ago, and discovered that had disappeared - finally made it back here, as my Bond enthusiasm is picking up again :)

I grew up in the Moore era in the UK, but retain an open mind on Bonds old and new, and am a huge fan of John Barry's soundtracks, so that takes me back mostly to the earlier movies.

I do Bond-inspired t-shirts, and just started playing around with silly captions as I re-watch all the movies :)

Favourite Bond is tough - maybe still Connery, but I like different things about each of them. Craig seems like the most 'natural' Bond yet though - probably followed by Dalton. Favourite movie is still probably You only live twice - for the sheer scale of the production (at the time), and the golden age of larger-than-life super villains.

Maybe if I spend more time on here my thoughts will change :)

Great work on both the shirts and captions, @bombadeo ! Go on over to the caption contests, and give it a go.
  • Thanks @Thunderfinger I'll certainly be having a good look around :)

Yes, our caption contests are fine, as well as the Use A Bond Line When ... thread. For super reviews, we have several threads - my fav being the For Originals ... thread. Many things to read and post about; please make yourself at home, everybody. :)>-

Hi, I am Miranda, a photo editor living in LA, USA.

Welcome to the forums Miranda, is that LA, USA, or Dhaka, Bangladesh?
    Sorry I'm a little confused. IP's a giveaway.

    ;)
  • Hey, I'm ChickenStu. Nice to meet you all.

I'm 36 years old and I am a HUGE Bond fan. I also have a personal connection to the movies since I am actually from Iver Heath and spent my first few years living less than a mile away from Pinewood Studios. Every sunday morning my Mum would take me for a walk around Black Park. My favourite patch to run along as a toddler was where the Aston Martin chase from Goldfinger was filmed! My whole family is from around that area, and I believe there may be relatives of mine buried in the cemetary featured at the beginning of For Your Eyes Only.

I no longer live in Iver Heath but I go back there whenever I can and as a Bond fan
(and a Superman, Carry On and Kubrick fan also) I am proud of my heritage.

I didn't really become the Bond fan I am now however until I saw Goldeneye as a teenager. I'd seen earlier films before of course but to me they were just "Bank Holiday TV" sort of films. However, Pierce Brosnan's first film as our man was the catalyst to ignite my interest (the N64 game Goldeneye 007 was also a big contributing factor)

I have read all of Fleming's original books aswell as the Robert Markham (Kingsley Amis) effort. I own all 23 of the official movies on Blu Ray and DVD (24 if you count NSNA) and 19 on VHS. I have many books including first editions of the original Fleming's that were passed down to me by my Mum. I'm currently collecting the John Gardner novels for a new Bond reading marathon.

I hope this establishes my credentials for membership on this site and look forward to chatting with you all in greater detail!

Very impressive @ChickenStu! Welcome to the community. A Bond AND Carry On fan? I already like you.
  • Thank you Sandy. I'm an established member of another forum on this subject but joined up to this one because I fancied a bit of a change.

    Welcome indeed.
  • I have been long-gone from the Mi6 forums from way before the change (which was awhile ago now, I'm aware). I met my current best friend who now lives very nearby to me on this forum so I have a lot to thank for. I left around 4 years ago as I felt I was penalized for being one of the younger members of the forum,. I thought after all this time I'd come back and see how things go for me now.

I am currently in my final year at university studying film and moving image and work freelance as a videographer and film maker. I have produced several short films and videos and worked with John Hurt and worked on Alpha Papa: The Alan Partridge Movie.

A lot has changed since I was last here.

    Welcome me aboard. ;)

    Warm welcome to @ChickenStu, @trettfilms, @LegateDamar and @Birdleson.
